Honestly, I agree with others here that it is a luxury item, HOWEVER if you want something similar? You can get an 8BitDo controller or even a joycon to do this exact same thing for cheaper, it may not work with mobile devices though.
Check out the 8bitdo micro. I’ve seen quite a few digital artists use that specific controller. They have many more other controllers but that seems to be used often by digital artists. They’re mainly for games but they have a switch on them to go to “keyboard mode” which is how artists use it. It’s about $25
Speaking from an engineering background, manufacturing and sourcing custom parts can get pricey. Especially for a smaller company compared to Nintendo with bucko bucks behind them that can mass produce controllers at a “cheaper” price.

Ive used one for a while now, not left handed but I'll tell you this. There not as ergonomic as they claim to be, a bit to high so i ended devloping mild carpel tunnel.
Guys don't pay a ridiculous price and fall for this paid promotion. Just get a one hand shortcut keyboard or whatever equivalent the brand of drawing tablet you use sells if possible. Pretty much the same functionality for way less cost. You mention that a pro of it is how all of the buttons are different so you don't have to look at it when using it, but anyone who actually knows how to use a keyboard, knows that your hand and fingers use a default position (indicated by a small bump on a key) so that your hands easily learn the muscle memory for the key's positions so you don't have to look at it and can use it efficiently.
I've debated on getting one for a long time but I spoke to a friend that raves about his, and the fact that this one has Procreate functionality (which I rarely use because the gesture controls make me want to rip my hands off)...it'll be delivered to me tomorrow LOL.
I've known about this device for at least several years, and I see its advertisements all around recently, AND, For productivity outside of drawing, If you have a mouse with 5 extra side buttons + a tilting wheel, you don't need any extra control surfaces as you can bind everything onto it. As a video editor/graphic designer, with just this mouse I can solve every problem any control surface company is trying to help me solve This video is an interesting one though
4:16 I use it upside down even tho I'm not a leftist. This way I can use my index fingers for the D-pad to change Tools, Thumb for Wheel to Pan Zoom And Rotate. Middle and ring finger for Tall/short button as modifier. I like to assign each finger to each button. The only con of this is the knob in the middle. It's easy to accidentally turn it when select tool with your index. Tourbox design is base on feel of each button so you don't have to look down to know where the button are. But if you want minimal movement for shortcut. Try the Azeron Cyborg 2. There are so many key that you can click with a flick of finger. Also it has on board memory. These 2 device are the best shortcut pad in the market.
I have a tourbox elite plus and the iPad version of the tourbox app is really raw at the moment, I don’t use CSP but in procreate there is no way to change the the opacity of the brush, and I use a lot affinity photo and some of the tools are use the most can’t be mapped into the tourbox, hopefully they start rolling updates to solve all this problems
It was actually the opposite for me, I tried using a tour box but I was just so used to the keyboard shortcuts, you can set your own shortcuts on clip studio so I used wasd for stuff like pen/eraser, lasso, airbrush, paintbucket (you can set pen/eraser on the same key so when you tap it once it’ll swap to a pen and when you tap it again it’ll be an eraser) the keyboard has so many keys so I even assigned transform features like contrast/brightness, tone curves, and add new layers all to my number keys. I even have polygonal lasso and liquify tool on X and C as if they were abilities in game. I’m sure Tour box could probably do the same but there’s def not enough buttons on it so you’d have to constantly swap profiles which at that point I’d just stick with a keyboard. It’s a good tool for normal users tho.
This basically replaces all those except for the tablet. I’m not advocating for this product but if you don’t decide to buy it because of this reason I thought I should let u know
yeah remembering keyboard hot keys makes the process of creating annoying and slow but when you have every shortcut on one box makes the art like breathing which i think is great i would but i don't like ordering online
oooh, this looks nice. i use a cintiq & i have a handful of hotkeys i can't be without; this is a nice analog device for people used to drawing digitally with hotkeys who struggle to draw on a device with none to speak of i don't have a portable digital device to draw on, so this product isn't for me. but i can totally see where it'd be a lifesaver for people who use both, or are switching to a unit without keys.
Yeah i got the Elite and i don't use iPad so for me it's all good atm, unless they release other updates in the future that really make it different. I use it on PC every day for editing and drawing occasionally, it's a def a good product i will say
I have the elite version of tourbox and my workflow has been reduced so much because of the tourbox. I draw on the huion kamvas 22 plus and instead of my right hand reaching for tools and settings like gaussian blur i can press down my main dial to blur its such a luxury
it's look like but the TourBox is terrible with community service . Older tourbox generation have some tech issues but they refuse to fixed it . Instead they make a new model and abandoned older products , Tourbox company too greedy
yeah i saw their ads a lot on instagram too it's good to watch a full review here. Been thinking about this Plus model lately, since i got the Elite already not sure if this is a necessary upgrade
For people trying to decide which one to get. I got the lite version lite and gotta say I wish I got the elite or neo cuz more buttons and Bluetooth so I can use it for iPad and computer but with the lite I only use it for pc and its still good. I’m also left handed and with I thought of flipping sideways lol that tip helped me out.
I looked into the tour box when the elite was first coming out. And while it looks cool, i just couldn’t justify spending over 200 bucks on what is essentially just a fancy controller. Especially not when the current keypad i use for my ipad was under 30 bucks and travels really well cause of how much smaller it is.
Has anyone already tested if you can use the tourbox elite with the iPad app? The truth is I don't want to invest in buying the tourbox elite plus just for that function
I like how you go from a video in where you say "don't draw fast". Then say "this sponsored product that I am paid to advertise actually helps me work fast!". Truly one of the videos of all time.
there's a difference when you draw faster because you are rushing and when you are spending less time because you can use your tools quicker and more comfortably
You're literally conflating drawing sloppy but fast, and drawing with more conveniences. She's just saying the tour box is one less hassle to deal with
It’s a sponsored video, you’re trusting word of mouth of someone who makes money off an affiliate link. A used cars salesman talks out their ass to sell you something you don’t need. Yet they have no actual accountability for the product itself. There is sadly no such thing as drawing with more connivence. Besides, the only way to draw faster is overtime is through mastering the medium. It’s why artists like Jim Lee work very fast within short amounts of time. Not because they use a tech product with a sponsored affiliate link. But because they got good at the fundamentals. Promoting this is misleading to a beginner audience.
@@Otis_. I'm not saying a slow artist will suddenly draw fast with it, (and neither is she) I'm just saying it's convenient, convenience is useful. I've been considering something like this for Procreate because it feels a lot more intuitive than gesture controls. Also, there's no native way to quickly flip the canvas horizontally in Procreate, despite many people flipping their digital art for quick proportion checks.
