Miss my Mal. She passed away almost 20 years ago now 🥺 Went to Kong in Colorado in 1997 to do some work. They were great people and had a lot of "retired" dogs hanging around the shop. Also gave me a few toys for my Mal.
My trainer taught me how to use an E-Collar the right way. My 13 year old Doberman lady is deaf but very active and loves to track animals in the woods. She is very responsive to the vibration setting and happily comes trotting to me when it is time to go home. I adopted her at the age of 6. She had no training, was reactive towards dogs, and an alpha personality. I trained her on leash but she ignored me off leash. I started using the E-collar with training. With much work and constant training, she is now a pleasure to live with. All my dobermans (5) have had leather collars and leather leashes. Each collar with tags hang on my memory wall.
Love these mini adventures with pups even more amazing having two at same time, I've never seen that. Such a calm steady voice and direction. Great videos. If you have a dog you should subscribe, watch and learn.
Thank you for this education. This is how I train my dogs. I currently have a 10YO GSD, she is bomb proof. I am working to help a family that chose a Malinois as their first dog, "why a malinois?" I asked "because they're cool and strong" (lord above🙄). At least they had the sense to ask for help early when they realized that he was more dog than they expected. I stepped in at 4 months. The dog? he's learning fast but the owners? Man they are a lot of work 😄. I am sad to report though that, here in France, the government has caved to the "all positive" crowd and has banned the use of prong collars and e-collars. Time to get the bandanas out 🙂
I use harnesses on my puppies when I train and that’s because I train service dogs and it’s to get them desensitized to wearing a harness for when they’re working
Excellent video and wonderful dog training! It would be great to see you spend and entire video walking around the entire pet store and continuing to show your favorite and not so favorite items! Also would love to see what Thanos does with that ball you bought em!!! Thanks for all the videos
My biggest mistake with my GSD who is now almost 10 is that she is distracted all the time and I never could train her out of it. She can do all her commands and even hand commands. She is so excitable. She will not listen to me if there are distractions.
Great vid! Question: if I were to board and train my dog with you, upon delivery, how often would u recommend I keep up with his training in your professional opinion?
If you want a well trained dog it has to be a 24/7 mindset of the behaviour you allow/encourage. That doesn’t mean formal sessions but constant awareness of the impact of your behaviour on your dog.
@@johnjacobs3601 Every time you go through a door together, get out of a car, go for a walk, go into a store like HD or Lowes, etc,. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing together take some time to be "in training mode". For me walking my husky (60mins) its about70/30 (free on 40' 1/4 inch paracord lead) intermixed during walk with.... name call to come, whistle call to come, down at a distance, healing and "with me" (very loose heal), down/stay, and other hand voice "reminders" to keep her moving around vertical objects on the side to not get lead tangled by going on wrong side. I use small pcs of wiener as food reward and sometimes no reward other than an enthusiastic pat and praise but because I'm a softie weiners are used more than I probably should or need -haha
Sir I would like to ask you just a couple of questions. First question while you were on the police force did civilian trainers ever assist with the dogs? Second question how would a new dog trainer try and go about training dogs in protection if possible at all?
Kong toys are a double edge sword. Yes they can entertain your dog for hours but they can also destroy your dogs teeth and you won’t know until it’s happened
we had to use a harness on a mini schnauzer 18 pounds she had a hemotoma on her neck she had her surgery but we still needed to take her outside. but since she was very well trained she never pulled or anything and i hardly ever use a leash anyways but we live in the city so leash laws apply. so i got as cheap leash for her to drag behind her and if anyone said anything i picked up the leash lol
So you would let other people interact with him and give him treats only in a down stay & if he maintains that? Also how do you deal with other people trying to give them commands (half-assed) do you tell them not to? My husband drives me crazy I always tell him not to ruin my commands cuz he'll rattle off come no down stay drop it 😅
It annoys me so much when people are like, "He's only doing it because you have food." DUH. Dogs aren't robots. You don't programme them. They obey because of one (or both) of two reasons. Either you have something they want, or they want to avoid something you have. Rewards, or punishment. You can train a dog to gamble on getting a reward so much that they will perform commands without rewards for some time, but eventually, you're going to have to pay them. They're not robots, guys, and they aren't toys made for our benefit that should do it "because".
Good morning 😃 great video I’m working on my Siberian Husky and next step is going to pets mart like you did. Hey quick question my brother how long is the leash you are using or where can I buy one like yours please!?
Hi m8 i want to get a mali for my apartment witch some ppl say you can and some ppl say you cant but since i only like to have a mali my question is not if it can be adapt with apartment or not my question is that how can i make it work? i have lods of xp with independent dogs such as kangal and sarabi huge and very hard to train, but i have no xp with working line dogs i do want to select a lower dive lower energy mali and i do love to play mental game and command training with the dogs but i dont like pointless daily walks, what do you suggest i should plan to do? and also local breeders say that they give the poppys when 3 month old and they cant keep them more otherwise they would die due to CPV but local trainers have told me to get older than 4 month even 5 or 6 to be sure they dont have CPV, it is very confusing do you know anything to help me ?
my mutt can destroy kong toys i asked a k-9 officer in my area where he got his stuff.. and he hooked me up with a toy "it can't be destroyed" ... it got destroyed too lol took her 30 minutes instead of 5 but she killed it lol
13:13 min: maybe the pet store 🏬 got sponsored by this unknown "Double your pleasure, triple your(...)", whatever you triple with that thing...🤣🤣▶️🤣🤣 On a more serious note 🗒: why didn't HE told the management? 🤔 I mean that stuff should not be associated with dogs and playfulness...😊 😊 Just say'n...😁 😁
You can control any animal with shock collars and spike collars, it's unfortunate and completely unnecessary. Treats and love with these dogs are all they need. Super intelligent animals they don't need those
Really sucks that you have to drag on a prong to get them to lie down. You didn’t even give a cue first. Anyone can put a big pinch collar on a young puppy and suppress their enthusiasm. Horrible to see their subdued behavior. Hope people will check out the trainers who actually train puppies to LOVE responding to cues.
Agreed. While I agree with some leash pressure, a cue should be given, in my opinion. My question I guess would be how is that behaving when you aren’t really telling them to go into a down??
What on earth are you on, lady? You want them to be subdued and polite in a pet store. They’re in public. You want your dogs running around like a bunch of lunatics or getting so amped up they don’t listen to you? There’s a time and place for playing. Use your head.
I watched 3 times to be shure. Slapping on a prong and an E-collar on a 4 month old Mal? Nice way to shut down a dog. It's like you put on a pair of cuffs on a child. But hey what do I know, I'm just a hater. 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
People are amazed how obedient my dog is and I tell them all about your UA-cam videos. I only wish you had more. I enjoy watching you train dogs
100 percent agree this guy and another guy called Nate are my go to trainers to steal info from lol
He's got online courses mate but while expensive on a budget lol😂 but be well worth every penny

Sheesh. Hang in there.
It is the same , no prong og e coller, in denmark
I really enjoy your videos so much! So glad I found you on you tube. Your example of not ruling with emotion is epic. cool calm and collected.
I love your content because my non year old kid and she has been learning how to extend her dog her dog was horrible off leash but now it is better

Did you say "kiitos"=thank you for your dogs at 16:00. I noticed that because I am from Finland. Thanks for your training videos!
Would love to see what you got at the pet store
Okay, but after you have them “down” how do you get them to STAY down? My dog just pops back up again as soon as I step away. A “stop and pop”?
Your the Master dog Wisperer Semper Fi

@@TallHasbulla I would say constantly any time you take your dog somewhere out of the house

I have a gsd puppy. At what age do you start using either a martingale or a prong?
At 7:30 you said to stay! Which is great but what if someone a stranger to be exact walks by would they still stay??
Can you make a video with Vetfocus?
I really need help with my dog’s reactivity. I have managed to get some rough obedience training instilled in him but not enough on the reactivity
