At the age of 21 I suddenly lost my ability to read. Due to a blunt force trauma that created 45 lbs of intracranial pressure. Struggled to walk, talk and eat with a fork. It took years before I could read an entire page in under 15 minutes. I struggled with human interaction. As years went by, I fell into the machining trade. All actual. Pass or fail. Hands on. But when I asked someone to repeat themselves two or three times, they would get in my face and scream at me. They couldn't understand my struggle to understand.
Many years later I got very good at a specific area of my trade. Now people ask me questions to figure out. I ask them to show me.
