I'm still using my 12 Pro Max. I wanted to break away from the consumerism I found myself in and now won't upgrade anything for 7 years. Decided this in 2022. Modern, premium tech will last that long with battery replacements. The 19 Pro Max will hopefully be 100% bezel-less. The dynamic island is just too big.
I just got the 15 Pro Max after being on Android ever since the first smartphones launched on the market and I compared it to my girlfriend's 11 Pro Max. Aside from the cameras and the 120 hz screen, almost everything felt identically close in terms of performance, especially for day to day usage. I completely agree with your take and will probably not upgrade until the 20 pro max or further. Great mindset.
@@Habit117 Glad you agree. Sure there are some differences like you said but it's no reason to constantly upgrade. I decided this myself in 2022 but tbh most of my tech is from 2017-2021 so I've just held on to what I have. It also weakens your willpower and makes you appreciate things less since you're constantly getting something new. 10-20 years ago we wouldn't replace something until it broke or for a decade. So it's just crazy that a USB C port or dynamic island means now I have to get a brand new phone. It's insane. I chose 7 years because tech does move fast so the days of keeping things for 10 years is over but every 7 years is 3 times in 20 years vs 2 times in 20 years. Which I think is a healthy middle ground. But again I do buy premium tech, so I have no issue with expensive things. It's just expensive things literally every 1-2 years, which has to stop. Anyways, I have had my UE Boom bluetooth speaker since 2017 so it's time to upgrade that lol. Gonna go with this $280 sci-fi looking one made by Gravastar. Pricy but I'll have it until 2031 so it's no issue 👍

Coming from android, the 15 pro max is my first iPhone ever…I only used android/samsung since 2009 and wow, I can’t believe I waited so long to switch. I’ll probably never go back to android.
I loved my 15 pro but my lil sister needed a new phone but she couldn't afford the new 15 so i sold it to her for a great price and sje was so happy so It gave me a excuse to switch to s24 ultra so while i was in best buy with her i bought me a new s24 ultra and couldn't be more happier we borj walked out bestbuy brokeas shit amd happy at the same time
I use the action button everyday,I love it so much. Recently just found out that theres now a native way to change its function based off of device orientation (you used to have to use an app to do that).
Coming from an iPhone XR, I was gonna buy the IPhone 15 pro max, but ended up getting the 13PM instead because the difference is really not that much to justify the near 1100 dollar difference (canadian). If you don’t care much about the professional photo stats and you want a large pool of battery, the 13PM is the best bang for your buck.
I tried a whole bunch of Android smartphones this year hoping to find something that would make me switch back to Android, even though I am 100% in the Apple ecosystem (iPhone, Mac mini, iPad). The only one I found that could replace my iPhone is the Pixel 8 Pro. I didn’t encounter the same issues I usually find with Android smartphones. The voice command works perfectly (unlike other Android devices where, for some reason, I can never get the voice command to work on the Gboard keyboard). Additionally, when setting up a new phone, you can have an exact copy of your old Pixel, just like you can with a new iPhone. This isn’t the case with Samsung, etc., where you end up having to put all the apps back into folders yourself, reorganize everything, etc. In the end, I found that the photo and video quality were not as good as on the iPhone, so I kept my iPhone 15 Pro Max and returned the Pixel. However, I’m still looking forward to seeing the Pixel 9 Pro XL. I would be very happy to see Google reclaim its crown as the king of photography. They have the resources and talent; I don’t know what’s missing for them to achieve it. Having a disability, voice command allows me to write very quickly without exhausting myself, so it’s indispensable for me. Additionally, I don’t understand why, when copying data from an old Android smartphone to a new one, you don’t get an exact copy of what you had on the old one. You have to reorganize everything, redo your folders from scratch, etc. This is a basic feature, and Android is advanced enough to have this functionality. I will never understand this.
I switched to the iPhone 12 about two years ago and I realized that I should’ve switched to the iPhone two years before that because the iPhone had a lot of features that they had before but they fine tuned it to make it right. So now I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I have to say it is a really good phone.
I’ve always been android, mostly Samsung note user but dabbled with huawei and pixel. I think iPhone has the best cameras hands down. That’s now important to me with 2 young kids and a dog.
The only change I would like to see is apple adding date time etc to the island when you tap it along with notifications so you don’t have to swipe to the Lock Screen every time then tap notifications even if it’s unlocked. I would like to see more use of the island. So put date time on the island when you tap along with notifications then when you use an app that app takes over the main island but still give you an option to do all that other stuff it would be game changer.
Tried iphone 15pro for 1 month - was getting about 20 scam calls/texts every single day. Switched back to android; 2 in one month. No phone # change; no carrier change. It's also not as user friendly as my s24+, especially with apps. Won't try again for probably a decade.

the only problem I see with the 15 pro max is the action button. It should be on the opposite side. I rarely use it. Seems a pointless feature.
Why no screen protector?

The Pro Max is more bearable with the titanium, so this is my first time sticking with it over the regular Pro variant that I usually prefer.
