  • In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, pioneers who came to the land of Israel from across Europe brought with them their own native dances. These ideas combined with traditional Jewish dance and came together to express a unified theme: their passion and desire to return to the Promised Land. Israeli folk dance is done barefoot out of respect for holy ground. Fast movements like leaping and running, are used to express joy and hope! The sixth graders will be dancing the Hora Nirkoda.
