This might be the greatest classical piece of all time, appreciate your work on it.
Indeed! Mozart's my favourite composer, and his requiem is one of my favourite pieces too ^^
I missed you Lunadherent, I'm glad you're back :)
@@AntoniusTertius Thanks man, I've been very busy lately but I'm glad to be back :)
@@Lunadherent So am I :)
I managed to confirm the lyrics of 2 Bloodborne songs by the way.
@@AntoniusTertius You mean Ludwig and Laurence? Because I was just checking those ahahah
@@Lunadherent Precisely :)
Fantastic job, as usual!!!
Valeu mesmo, Arthur ^^
I remember first coming across this music of Mozart's in Fate/Grand Order, where an instrumental piano rendition of it is played by Antonio Salieri in his homage, as well as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (which is actually not Mozart's but often erroneously associated with him).
It immediately caught my attention for how magnificently it managed to get across a feeling of wrathfullness and impending doom over such serene instruments as a piano. It's a shame that game lacks lyrics at all for its songs, considering how good and thematically meaningful they otherwise are.
Mozart made a variation of the famous "Ah! Vous dirai-je, Maman", then Mozart's variation was used in the "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", everytime you hear it, know that the rhythm is that of Mozart's variation, most of the melody came from "Ah! Vous dirai-je, Maman", but Mozart changed some parts ^^
Yeah, Mozart's Requiem is amazing!
Luckily there are few game songs with Latin lyrics: One-winged angel from Final Fantasy VII, some from Bloodborne and song of lament from Elden Ring(all the other songs there are not in Latin and mean nothing though); I published those on my channel. But overall game songs lack meaningful lyrics as you pointed out.
Bravo por este gran trabajo, excelente en todos los sentidos💖
Thank you so much amigo Hugo ^^
Mozart's my favourite composer and his choral music is amazing :)
Thank you 🙏❤️👍
You're welcome ^^
Now I'm curious how the lyrics of Verdi's Requiem's Dies Irae differ from Mozart's.
ua-cam.com/video/8Yh3BfMVojY/v-deo.html
Mozart took the lyrics from a medieval Latin poem and so did Verdi. I never listened to Verdi's requiem, but the lyrics are the same. This is the medieval Latin poem from which the lyrics of the Requiem came:
Dies iræ, dies illa,
Solvet sæclum in favilla:
Teste David cum Sibylla.
Quantus tremor est futurus,
Quando Iudex est venturus,
Cuncta stricte discussurus!
Tuba, mirum spargens sonum
Per sepulchra regionum,
Coget omnes ante thronum.
Mors stupebit, et natura,
Cum resurget creatura,
Iudicanti responsura.
Liber scriptus proferetur,
In quo totum continetur,
Unde mundus iudicetur.
Iudex ergo cum sedebit,
Quidquid latet, apparebit:
Nil inultum remanebit.
Quid sum miser tunc dicturus?
Quem patronum rogaturus,
Cum vix iustus sit securus?
Rex tremendæ maiestatis,
Qui salvandos salvas gratis,
Salva me, fons pietatis.
Recordare, Iesu pie,
Quod sum causa tuæ viæ:
Ne me perdas illa die.
Quærens me, sedisti lassus:
Redemisti Crucem passus:
Tantus labor non sit cassus.
Iuste Iudex ultionis,
Donum fac remissionis
Ante diem rationis.
Ingemisco, tamquam reus:
Culpa rubet vultus meus:
Supplicanti parce, Deus.
Qui Mariam absolvisti,
Et latronem exaudisti,
Mihi quoque spem dedisti.
Preces meæ non sunt dignæ:
Sed tu bonus fac benigne,
Ne perenni cremer igne.
Inter oves locum præsta,
Et ab hædis me sequestra,
Statuens in parte dextra.
Confutatis maledictis,
Flammis acribus addictis,
Voca me cum benedictis.
Oro supplex et acclinis,
Cor contritum quasi cinis:
Gere curam mei finis.
Lacrimosa dies illa,
Qua resurget ex favílla
Iudicandus homo reus:
Huic ergo parce, Deus:
Pie Iesu Domine,
Dona eis requiem. Amen
Belo e moral
This is Requiem.
Wow so beautiful 🙏🙏🙏💖💯👍😇😇
Thank you very much! Mozart is my favorite composer ^-^
How can you create this, that's....just perfect...
I simply cannot believe it, after my favourite game, you translate my favourite piece of art. Just a question: do you know where I can find a version of the requiem where the singers get the pronunciations right?
I'm glad I surprised you that way :)
I used this version because it is acappella, no instrumental sounds, which is perfect to listen to the lyrics being sung. Here the only pronunciation problem I could detect is at the very end when the male singers sing "stricti" instead of "stricte", aside from that, everything else seems to be pronounced correctly.
The other versions out there have the instrumental sounds, so I recommend that you look for acappella versions. I can't think of any version in particular right now, as when I listen to Mozart's dies irae, I can't hear the lyrics as clearly as I do here.
What a mystifyingly staggering song!, it does elicit a feeling I cannot depict in my very innermost, I do bask in the moment it soars and all of sudden It stops, well to be honest I am fond of the whole song which is terse yet utterly incredible
And by the way stunning job just as always
I lack words to describe this Mozart's masterpiece! I will try to make a video with the full Requiem.
Thank you very much for your comment ^^
Essa música é incrível, única em latim que aprenia cantar, aliás todos concerto de Requiem é fenomenal
Concordo! Mozart é o meu compositor favorito!
Já escutou vesperae solennes de confessore k.339? Recomendo.
I swear to god everytime in the beginning it sounds like “We Hail Satan” Lmao
Wow! Your remark surprised me!
That phrase in Latin would be "(Nos) salutamus Satan" ^^
