We’ve seen him handle arguably the strongest one like nothing aka Marco at marineford, punches him away and he never attempts to fly back up afterwards.
Garp will be shown in a panel grabbing a knocked out roger by the collar while laughing and conq haki knocking out the entire roger crew and Kol would still be like “yeahhh I’ll move him up one tier”

Chapter 431 - Garp has been referenced as the only Marine to have cornered roger.
We have so many references and evidence of how strong Garp is, I cant even fathom why people would downplay him because he’s old. Old or Not Whitebeard blocked several attacks from Akainu with one hand and sent him flying. Garp could probably do the same.

Garp is getting defeated. He is not surviving this story. And I highly doubt it will take a roof piece event to defeat him.
I also doubt the fight will be 10 days long (like Akainu vs Aokiji for example).
You can call him Top1 if you want. You can hype him up in your mind as much as you want. Just be prepared to be disappointed bc he's not going to showcase feats that would be Top5 worthy in the present. He hasn't so far and he won't. It would not make sense in the context of the story and its characters who will take the main stage in the final war.

I saw something pretty compelling on Reddit after 1080 dropped about how Garp is going to be fine for the time being because Oda will not pass up the opportunity to have a panel where all 3 Monkey Ds are standing side by side, ready to square off against the gorosei or Imu or some dramatic final war type opponent(s). I love the idea that each of our Monkey D lads is the absolute pinnacle of power within the 3 major world factions and that each of them has been pursuing freedom differently but that their paths will ultimately converge and they’ll have a moment where they unite and fight as a family. If that panel ever happens I’ll lose my mind. Would be so cool.

Even with this latest chapter we see that his ship is some how able to fly in the air…very similar to a coup de burst. So we have to ask the question if wether or not he was able to catch up to luffy’s crew after water 7 and if he purposely didn’t chase after them.
Man i could watch Par and KoL all day, what a wonderful talk. I think the intention vs unintentional thing between BB and Luffy is beyond interesting. To me its always been an innocence/unbridled freedom perspective vs a diabolical/ absolute control fight in One Piece. BB has his view and will do anything, even the most vile acts to achieve it but his idea of freedom revolves around him and his views and plans for the future. Whereas Luffy will also do anything for the world he wants but when that anything is done Luffy will let the world decide where it goes whereas BB would continue to force his perspective onto things.

@@avalac7412 I been watching Kol for close to a decade now and I still haven’t figured out how he’s able to fool his audience this easily when it comes to his favorite characters. He’s really good at selling you things but his point on Shanks couldn’t have been more wrong this time. I think he’s a bit too much hung up on the fact that Shanks was called the freest man on the sea currently (in one of the Magazines). So he takes it as “shanks right now is untouchable until Luffy surpasses him” and that’s just wrong. Like one simple reason could just be the fact that he’s one of the four most powerful pirates as well as being able to have an audience with the highest authority. Shanks is just a more powerful version of Doflamingo when it comes to influence and strength but he does indeed care about the current system in place

I liked how you summed shanks up as doflamingo 2.0 he essentially is given that he might be a celestial dragon of some sort as well due to the film red info. Him being the freest man can be looked at in alot of ways, people used that statement to put him on that pirate king status but it simply goes beyond any of that, shanks has pretty much assembled the best and most balanced crew of well known pirates(he also wanted Marco for the longest time), he’s practically allied with the giants of elbaf, can talk to the gorosei cause they view him as a pacifist, he probably knows of imu’s existence so he’s holding them by the balls like doffy or he’s flat out just a celestial/pirate, he’s basically playing on both sides of the balance aiding both the government and pirates alike.
One thing forsure is that he cares about the current system and will go out of his way to make sure it’s balanced, examples not letting the world government gain the nika nika/Gomu gomu, stopping the war, not allying up with Marco and the rest of the whitebeard pirates to take out Blackbeard for good(while we find out he’s after him now)
He’s also finally after the one piece now for some odd reason, we don’t know what he wants to gain from it after basically not indicating he had any interest in it till kaidou and bigmoms defeats only time will tell.

Shanks's attack was HIGHLY concentrated on a single target. That's simply why swordsmen in general possess greater killing power.
Take it like this. Kidd is done if that galaxy impact was concentrated to hone in on a simple target. He just is. You can't deny that.
Similarly, if the Shanks' attack wasn't concentrated on a single target but rather a wide area coverage, then Kidd would have survived.
It all comes down to, what kind of attack is it. Is it for destroying islands then yes. Shiki had the LITERAL ability to do just that but does that make him stronger than opponents who can't do the same? No. It doesn't.

ive said this before, one piece theories are basically fanfiction for the most part lol. as opposed tp theories in the sense of trying to actually predict the plot and answers to the mysteries. got people in comments saying what if shanks, blackbeard and dragon are brothers lol thats fanfiction. of course people can have fun all they want, just a pet peeve of mine, maybe because of the ise of the word theory or the idea that these theories are supposed to be possibilities in the story.
I liked the dragon shanks blackbeard idea not for the brothers side. but more the idea that they were the adopted sons or chosen sons of each other greats, garp, roger. and wb. idk if the original poster meant like actual brothers but like a shanks/buggy connection haha but yeah atleast if when we find out bout dragon garps relation, def an interesting lens to look through. how each of these dudes reflect their father figures

I've always said that Garp would kill Akainu at marineford if Sengoku didnt hold him back. Oda just wouldnt make Garp say that if he couldnt even deliver.
Chapter 1080 should wash away all doubts about Garp *not* being able to kill Akainu. It just wouldnt fit if Luffy is Pirate King, Dragon is the most wanted man alive, and somehow Garp is mid.
I dont think Garp was equal to Roger, but VERY VERY close to Rogers power. And wouldnt be suprised at all if Oda made it so that Garp was actually equal to Roger.
Also, in the good timeline of Luffy, he ends up looking like Garp. And thats Pirate King Luffy.

Hey par off topic but when Noland found Jaya with the City of gold he told his king about it and his king said marijoa was allowing them to finally enter the grand line again, and that the king was going to join him on a journey again back to Jaya. Once they get there and the gold isn’t there the king is furious. What do you think nolands king plan was with the city of gold to steal it all? In the end wasn’t it probably better noland didn’t take him to the real city of gold?

To say that devil fruits are made of haki, you need to address at what point a proficient haki user becomes vulnerable to water, or why nature decides to hate some haki users when haki is a natural ability. Also, the emotions thing probably needs to be explicit in the story to be true, since power-ups due to emotional responses are present in every shonen manga, like Gon vs. the cat girl or the first time that Gohan reaches SS 2 or Naruto after Hinata "dies".

actually last time kol and spoke those were the videos i was alluding to in our previous conversations haha then vp gave us the desire lines.
and i agree with you on the emotions, i dont think it will be like as formulaic as i explain in my videos, but the reason why that is. in order to theorize or reverse engineer a system you end up with a lot more fluff than what the guy who has the final script. but where its cool is if you end up connecting with the concept art. cuz technically thats oda's fluff that he refined in the story. we can see how much thought he has in g5 in concept art but it wasnt verbatim told to us and alot of those poinst he has will be told to us indirectly. but given he released g5 and the hardcore community sees it, for us we will expect it and the casual community will understand it in hindsight. hopefully that makes sense because i think several times on the channel we've hit notes that were basically those indirect notes and itd be like saying what haki was based on pre timeskip feats before it was introduced. youd end up adding a lot of extra powers that currently cant connect, but later probably will in hindsight

Okay so, the thing about a lot of the attacks that Kid took were not CoC infused attacks. I don't know why Big Mom didn't do that, when she did it to Page One
. It could be an ego thing, though she does say to Kaido on the rooftop that he's stupid for taking it easy on them. That could be her projecting though. Maybe she knew about haki bloom & didn't want Kid to advance further, whereas Kaido straight up told Luffy proprietary information that isn't really known to the general public. All but a select few would know that conqueror's haki clears all.
If you check the corrected SBSs, it says CP9 STRENGTHED (not unlocked) their Haki, which means Rokushiki DOES USE HAKI.
Rokushiki is a type of in-universe "martial arts", just like karate or jiu-jitsu in the real world, and they use techniques that use haki (not all):
- Tekkai = LITERALLY using armament haki in their body
- Shigai = LITERALLY using armament haki in their fingers
- kami-e = LITERALLY using observation haki
The "seventh" power Rokuougan is LITERALLY internal destruction haki.
Haki has "LEVELS OF STRENGTH", like in an RPG:
- Katakuri hurt Luffy with his mochi punch even though Luffy had haki activated
- Jinbe's "tekkai" was harder than Who's Who's Shigan, that's why he broke his finger

Why are garp fanbois sweating exactly? Idk most garp fans that DONT expect him to lose to Teach. Havent seen it really. Garp losing to one of the 2 endgame bosses isnt worrisome. Thats expected. That makes his stocks rise.
Speaking of Shiki, if Shiki were going to make an entrance into the main story, there would be no more likely time than the present saga. If this guy was strong enough to stand up to prime Garp, it makes sense we wouldn't see him until after or around when Garp's strength was made apparent. Oda wouldn't introduce us to the next tier of power with an irrelevant (up to now) character like Shiki.
