2023 Jeep Compass gets a new turbo engine

- It’s hard to place the 2023 Jeep Compass into a neat silo with other small SUVs. It has comparable interior space to those we refer to as midcompact SUVs. It now comes standard with an engine that blows the doors off most in that segment and is comparable to the engine upgrades offered by a select few in the compact SUV segment above. Its base price is similar to the compacts as well but, with options, can greatly exceed them. Ditto the Ford Bronco Sport, which is probably the Compass’ closest competitor given its dimensions and off-road image (and off-road capability for some trim levels).
This price issue is tricky, because unless you really value its muscular and refined new engine, and to a lesser extent its terrific in-car tech, it makes the Compass hard to recommend. A Subaru Forester Wilderness or one of the Toyota RAV4’s off-roading trims will deliver comparable capability, but with much greater space and a lower price tag (though admittedly with less power). There are any number of other midcompact and compact SUVs that provide stronger overall value if off-road capability isn’t a priority, as well. One of our favorites, the Bronco Sport, suffers from similarly questionable value, and the Compass certainly has an advantage in terms of interior quality, technology and standard power. Still, Ford’s baby Bronco is the fresher face and, again, it’s often cheaper.

Will make a decent buy when it is 2 years old and you can buy a nice clean used one for about 24K.
I totally agree
yes, maybe even less now as the market gets worse lol
Who cares about the computer world but the Jeep Compass has a better power train than other SUVs this size and engine
The prices are insane you can get a used grand cherokee or cherokee trailhawk for the same price and both of those are better options
yep! i said the same it's ridiculous. i would get a grand cherokee laredo over this option any day.
AGREED...!!! I have a 2015 Lincoln MKC AWD. I'm looking at replacing it soon with a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Limited or Overland with maybe 20k miles tops. The reason i say this is because i think car prices have become OUTRAGEOUS...!!! The dealers are certainly price gouging and it's just not fair too the consumer.
Not competitive at MSRP, but if you get a $5k discount on this and $5k markups on competitors things look different, what matters to buyers is not the MSRP but the OTD price, that's what people actually pay.
Unfortunately Jeep caught a couple of years ago the BMW pricing disease...
best thing they could've ever done. however, that price point and other better options. good luck jeep!
No one pays MSRP for a Compass unless they don't know anything about the car they're buying or negotiations. You should be able to get it for 3K to 5K less than MSRP and Jeep almost always has a hefty rebate from about the middle of the model year on. So yes, it its a compelling choice for the price you can get it out the door.
I wish it this new engine comes to India
You may want to check your pricing again. In my area they start at like $33k highest is $37k. Not $43,000
Elite group plus sunroof will run you near 43
Ever heard of something called "OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT" ?
The trailhawk can easily hit 43k in price
We just got our first '23 in and it's $41k
Fully loaded Trailhawk is almost 48k
Agreed.
Many more available vechicales at that price point
At 51k.
Fully loaded chevy blazer RS
Is bigger and 3 6 V6 engine.
I just leased the 2023 jeep compass limited with ventilated seat,43k
Great looking vechical.
It was the 5k rebate that sealed the deal for me
I’m sorry I love Jeep’s! But I just can’t see myself paying over 40 grand for a”COMPASS!”
Dude this is a mini grand cherokee. If you want more space get a grand Cherokee. I’m okay with this compass 2019 latitude
They need to bring the Compass 4xe PHEV powertrain to CAN/US. They've had it across the pond for a while already and it would easily be an improvement both in performance and efficiency. 240HP, 350lb/ft and a 30mile/50km battery only range.
price drives me away
i ordered mine on feb 6th waiting on delivery
Can get a Latitude with convenient group for 33.
$43k? You can get a luxury brand larger SUV like an Acura RDX, Lexus NX, Infiniti QX50, Audi Q5, or equivalent BMWs or Mercedes Benz🚙
They’re 35k in my area.
Okay you guys need to stop Miss marketing this vehicle it is a subcompact I know it's a very nice looking SUV and people like to compare it to the RAV4 into the Forester into the Honda CRV but it is a subcompact
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! I tell people I know it looks very very premium and all but DUH Chrysler has been doing that since the DART. it’s still a subcompact SUV🥰. Thank you !
