That’s a freaking cool tent! And that was an awesome fire I must say! What a beautiful spot he has there.

Thanks! And it sure is a hell of a spot! I have had the tent over a year and never used it! I have another stove coming tomorrow that packa flat so I'll do a hot tent adventure soon!

Nice tent, you could try hanging a candle in there, it might make it a bit warmer. I do that in my bivy tent and it seems to work, some, a little or it could just be wishful thinking. Looks like you had a good time and ate well!

I actually have a nice candle lantern I use often. But I am out of candles for it! lol Otherwise I would have probably hung it on the branch and enjoyed the light. If nothing else maybe it would stop the icing up from my breath!

@@projectknifehand That UCO lantern is great. I've got a couple. I pick up the candles at Sierra at a discount when I can. I also picked up UCO's mini lantern that uses easily accessible tea lights - and picked up a Bunch of citronella tea lights at Walmart on clearance last fall.

I keep meaning to check out the mini. I have the regular one. I am considering making a mold or buying a mold to make my own candles for it.

@@projectknifehand The mini lantern is great for the cheap candles and for times when you are only going to use it for a couple of hours. There are two drawbacks with the mini lantern that I found. 1) I had to play with the metal prongs that held the candle in the base to get it so that the candle sat flat and did not occasionally pop out of the holder. 2) All the candle wax melts and is a liquid in the little metal cup of the tealight so you need to be extra careful if you need to move the lantern and be careful about knocking it over. If you hang the lantern hang it someplace that it will not likely get hit or swing. Trust me, hanging it from the edge of a tarp is not a good idea.

@Doc_Watson I'm guessing you've got some tarp damage now lol

Nice video! Are you from Rhode Island? I worked all over the state for years, substation construction with N Grid. Nice state! Peace, MD

@RhodySeth I'm doing my best to keep the wheels moving and "post consistently". I spent several hours yesterday and a couple very early this am to get editing done so I could upload. I was on a roll for a little bit there but slowed down quite a bit and didn't upload for a few weeks. Trying to avoid doing that again!

@@projectknifehand Yeah, I've taken a bit of time off to avoid burnout. Hopefully get back in the swing of things soon.

@RhodySeth I just had other real life stuff going on so it kept me away for a few weeks. Hope to be pretty active over the next few weeks. But sometimes things pop up lol. I'd like to get out for another one next week

I'm getting too old for that lol. One of the things Justin and I discussed on this trip was being tired of waking up feeling like poop. I may make a drink on every trip but I am all done over doing it. Nothing worse than having to pack up when it is freezing outside and you are hung over lol. I enjoy my beverages but don't drink nearly as much as one would assume based on my videos lol
