- The Royal Navy is spending 31 billion pounds on four Dreadnoughts (each weighing 19,000 tons and capable of carrying up to 12 Trident ballistic missiles).
The Dreadnought-class enters service in the early 2030s, ensuring that Britain's nuclear deterrent is credible and effective for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for watching
Its not the number of ships that decides a top navy. Its the quality of the ship and its crew. Both are top notch in the UK.
No good having tubs thats for sure. Indonesian navy has lots of ships BUT are so old and rusty that one really modern ship would be worth 50 or them.
What happened lately in royal navy😅
Really. Aircraft carriers which can only fly US planes and are mostly in the shipyard for repairs.
@@dirkscott5410😂😂😂😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️💀💀💀💀💀
@@dirkscott5410 Every ship has its teething troubles. In terms of mileage and service life the Queen Elizabeth class are still brand new and will eventually be more reliable. I still think it was a mistake for them to not use nuclear power. If the oil tanker gets hit and they are low on fuel in the middle of the ocean they are in big trouble. I also think it was a mistake not to use the new magnetic catobar system.
Britain ruled the waves for over 200 years, no other country has come close to that.
USN since 1944, not 200 years, just the last 80.
Now , you simply rule irrelevance with uneducated nonsense population. Yeah, Broke Britain.
Lost it completely . Historic book.
But it's land warfare that's important did Germany surrendered when they lost the Atlantic campaign did Japan surrendered when they lost the naval battles on the Pacific no both lost when their countries have been overwhelmed with enemy troops or atomic bombs
Never happening again, ships and subs will be shit very soon
😂😂im UK citizen and I say we are far from ruling the sea as we can't even stop migrants on inflatable boats
The UK is going to need a lot more ships if it wants to even be listed in the top ten navies.
The UK is currently 9th so not really
The key is not a big navy it’s a reasonable size advance Navy. And Britain has one of the only truly Bluewater navies.
Quality is more important than numbers
@@williamevans2867 Quantity is a quality all its own.
So we're is you county placed? Or are they the only country that has it's Navy beaten by a country without a Navy
I’m hoping we ain’t using super glue or chewing gum ! 🤣 our shiny new toys with no one to man them 🤣🤣🏴
"Despite their complexity and cost ... it will enhance their maritime capabilities..."
Ummm for £31-billion, WTF did you expect? A rubber dighy flying a sheet of A3 paper as a nod to traditional naval flags?!
We're a big island with plenty of coastline and need to be protected every inch from Russia aggressive behaviour
We’re in trouble then, because 40% of the Russian Black Sea fleet have become submarines.
Uk has had bigger balls than Russia will ever have
We should also build more aircraft carriers
What nonsense, we've got 2 aircraft carriers that are useless,.
It's ok, the taking away of benefits of which that we have been assessed for by the DWP doctors, will pay for these. Remember, we, the disabled including ex-veterans are ruining the UK economy, yet we can afford 31 BILLION on subs alone.
Why are the subs getting bigger but carrying less
Not carrying less as the Vanguard Class SSBN were only filling 8 of its 16 missile compartments, and the Dreadnought Class will operate with all 12 missile compartments full as Britain now has 280 ballistic missiles. That’s 60 more than in recent decades, and they can carry 8 to 12 475 kt nuclear warheads.
They want to keep their empty planed aircraft carriers. Yeah, Broke Britain.
Thought UK focus on logistics submarine during lightning storm won't so worries container fell into ocean
We have no army, no airforce our navy has aircraft carriers that we can’t defend, we haven’t the planes to fill them but luckily they can’t get more than a few feet without breaking down so how are we going to afford this?
and how many of our pack of subs are in working order ?.
Did they spell "Dreadnaught" wrong?
Stopsmallboats!!!
Its interestyng I like
New ships. More decommissioning. Numbers don't increase.
🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
You wouldn't think the UK had food banks and people living on the streets.
Yeah, let's drop all this high technology and defence of the realm rubbish and put all of the money into useless buggers who are homeless and who don't earn enough money to support themselves. How could they have had 12 years of compulsory education and yet still end up poor?
How many people died from lack of health care to pay for these?
Don’t know, not American
Its going to end up like the Land Rover.
Rated as the least reliable piece of vehicle on the road by most motoring magazines.
Advertised as the best, its anything but.........
Wish you have better luck than those carriers of yours.
They probably won’t work 🤷♂️
They were complaining before the Ukraine war of building another submarine.
Bs video ever
Ruller of the🥳
REALLY?? THAT SHOULD ONLY BE IN THE BATH TUB, RIGHT NO???
The missile compartment for UK ballistic submarines was always built in the US as its US missiles that are used.
All Royal Navy missile compartments were built at Barrow in Furness up to, and including the Vanguard Class SSBN’s. Can’t argue with the facts my friend.
@@mac2626 Funny that when I worked up there on Vanguard the missile compartment arrived from Electric Boat in Georgia
omg next you'll be telling us we import dodgy titanium from China, and the seat covers are from India!
Not everyone understands the difference between 'built' and 'assembled', the missile compartment coming from the US is very interesting, disappointing but not surprising since the low magnetic steel is imported in advance from France since Port Talbot is likely to close and we'd hate to give "ze anglais" decent paid jobs lol.
LOL rule the seas with what 6 maybe 10 subs?
We can’t even protect our shores against Abdul in his dinghy , as for fighting Russia I ask who exactly that would be since my fishing club has more boats than our navy and the British army in its entirety would fill Wembley stadium . As for the purchase of new navy kit … may I ask why they bought not one but TWO aircraft carriers without aeroplanes … and now they want a new sub to play with ??? 😂😂😂😂😂
No. The chinaman Navy rules the seas and the Britisher navy is just a coastal patrol force that can only defend the English Channel against a French invasion.
Labour will cancel!
This was before the liebour government was elected
UK SUBMARINO COMMANDER MILITARY ⚓️⚓️⚓️😃😃😃👍👍👍UAU UAU UAU 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
If it’s any thing like our latest aircraft carrier it will spend more time broken down than at sea.
Yes, you are correct, a ruler to measure the sea bed. Another 200 coming years ruler measuring the sea bed. Carry on lads!!!!
As a country or military is small but packs a punch and don't forget we have the best special forces in the world
if this was built under the Tories for get it, they have a 100% failure record in anything technical or that requires infrastructure of any kind, remember the Satellites, Drones, Test and Trace, HS2, and the list goes one.
God is ruler over all
£31 billion at the moment. The UK Government has already allocated another £10 billion as a contingency. Expect the price to double by the time they have been commissioned (prices for military contracts always do).
Last I heard the Trident missile didn't work when it was tested.
Both failures down to human error, hopefully something easily remedied!
Im sure its cool to have submarines of this calibre, but reality is you need to be seen present to make people behave, a submarine does not have the same threat as a destroyer or carrier. Even though its payload is much more lethal.
Keep dreaming there ain’t funding or capacity
wont build a thing in the next 10 years
UK is dreaming again..😂😂😂
😂😂😂 for sure 😂😂😂😂
ROFLMAO.😅
Aaah subtitles, ''the Dreadnut class'' , please rename them to this
Yhe dreadnoughts are already short listed to become obsolete with Britian getting a new , larger sub soon, along with both the USA and Australia, the AUKUS class, which will be the most advanced most tonnage of any sub ever built, the thing is this is NOT and is taking place NOW with the infrasturcture being built to fo this in the UK, the US and Australia, Austrailia is also giving billions to both the UK and the US to assist with their infrastructure build, weird huh, bout the first time in history some one aided the US to do something.
If that's the case. Then, make sure that you use plastic RULERS. Cos, they're lightweight & waterproof.
Spending money for no reason, we have to change the traditional way about weapons, no more wars, and enemies.
Why don't the Royal Navy buy a few rubber dinghies, and invade countries that way?
Yea ok 25 years to build vast overrun and a woke armed services oooooo Putin scared not
If you are telling us the new class sub now you have told the world as well top secret no way
This is another false narrative. Why a new "super-duper" submarine benefit Great Britian...of course it will add the Royal Navy's capabilities, but unless the UK builds a significant fleet of them it won't matter a twit. To be effective, a navy needs a fleet of submarines that allows for a substantial number to be on station and allow for a similar number in port for crew rests and refit...and allowing for approximately 25% to be in dry dock for repairs. The UK would need four boats on patrol, four boats in rest and refit and allow for two to be in dry dock for repairs and upgrades. So, at a minimum the UK would need ten boats in a class...and that ain't happening.
😅
Amen
1 sub is enough to turn every city of significance to ash, why would we need more? Yes I'm aware the UK has decided it will only allow 1-3 warheads per missile in line with the proliferation treaty but the comment still stands.
You are correct - 1 at sea - 1 in port for r+r - 2 being fixed by the contractor because the kettle doesn't work. Why more, we're not the USA declaring war on every poor muppet and his goat?
Gorgeous Submarine.
I bet it sinks.
EX NAVY SUB GUY HERE ! OUR LASTEST SUBS ARE BREAKING DOWN ALL THE TIME , THIS VIDEO IS BS AND IF ITS NOT YOU MAY HAVE TP WAIT 60 YEARS TO SEE ONE ❤
Labour will cancel it!
We hope so
They’ll try….and fail…as always 😂😂😂😂
total waste of money.
We don't even rule our own country anymore
It would be great if UK had 30 submarine.
Britannia aeterna Victrix.
Let’s hope so my friend.🇬🇧
Victor of eternal deludedness. Yeah, Broke Britain.
Victoris aertenae ludibrii. Yeah, Fregit Brittanniam.
They will build one maybe two and that's it. No way under a Labour Government will they spend this amount on just 4 ships
As soon as Starmers Labour party becomes the government you can forget all this u till they're removed by force,
