One of my favourite lifters of all time! I met Andrey in Sydney at the end of 2014. I tried to tell him that we have the same name but he just smiled and nodded as he had no idea what the fuck i was saying! lol
wish I could understand Russian so I could understand this better. I feel like the sub gives you a general idea of what he's saying but not fully. All in all incredible work for whoever put up the subtitle and video. On behalf of all the fans thank you so much for all the hardwork supertraining team!
@3:35 That USPA judge was seriously on his phone the whole time throughout that lift. Like really ? If he wasn't he probably would of notice the miss load . I wouldn't blame the loader to much though. Js my opinion...
i got happy when was asked about early years of powerlifting but didnt get what i wanted whether he worked many more movements back then or just the 3 main lifts :( still walking but hope he talks about accessories at some point
I agree with that last bit about younger lifters. All these kids jumping into knee wraps nowadays with sub-500 pound squats, because they like the fact that they can immediately add weight to the bar without getting stronger. I feel like kneewraps should be reserved for the highest level. That's just me.
I only do so to deal with a injury to my knee, it helps with the pain aswell as allowing me to squat safely without the risk of further damage. Other than that i agree with you. Its just that some circumstances force one to use some sort of support.
if wraps are going to increase your squat poundage and you are still hitting good depth with good form and training then why wouldn't you use em? even if you are handling sub 500, the wraps *used correctly* will help to apply progressive overload. should everyone be in wraps quickly? not necessarily, but if it works then use it to your advantage
Weight Warriors I agree that they can be a useful training tool within reason. Should a sub 500 pound squatter jump in some Lilliebridge wraps? Probably not the best idea. I think utilizing a lighter wrap in conjunction with raw squats (sleeves/bare knees) can definitely benefit most people. I just see too many kids using really stiff wraps in nearly ALL of their working sets.
All of these russian guys (Konstantin, Andrey, Sarychev, Zahir) engage in this weird method of hydration using a cocktail of aminos, salts, piracitam, and some other stuff. Never seen it in the states before. I want to try it out but this aint like a recipe you find online.
+Average Life Joe actually that was the guy who did not controll the weight guys job properly, at that moment the one side of the bar was heavier, which tilted the weigh on the side and put too much pressure on one of the leg biceps in which he felt a pinch. Because of the that his next lift wasnt very good because that leg biceps had stronger pain and he had an injury. So that Andrey pretty much could sue the orginizers for that assholes with the phone bad job.
did he compete at 308 or superheavyweight? Just find it weird he had such diffiulty staying hydrated, unless he had to cut weight. Don't really see the point competing at 308 if you're setting world records...and conversely if your not cutting weight, why would it be so difficult o stay hydrated if you're chugging isotonics all day?
+Phlegm Atic He said something that really confused me. He said if he was any heavier it would have risked a chest injury. Maybe lost in translation, but it made no sense to me.
MrJosh6889 I found it. This is just shitty translation. Actually he said - if i didn't get so much weight with water (up to 162kg from 153) then I would lose even more water in competition, and this could cause chest injury. Something like that
+Witcherworks Vegans are nazi food. When i receive a vegan at home, i do a vegan meal for him. When a vegan receives me at his home, there's only vegan food. Vegan are not pro-pro, they are anti - cons.
jean ferrat well could you look at the scenario openly. Vegans are about using less to give back more. Shouldn't you be happy that he has food for you? That's a pretty selfish situation. The only reason you have vegan food is because you eat Your food and Vegan food as well not because you went out your way.
17MXT Let me be specific. Andrey didn't hate. He showed mad respect just like most people do from OTHER countries. The question was added in there as Satire. It obviously has nothing to do with him and was only used to throw a shot at vegans. Lets be serious here please. I have much love for Andrey. Also keep in mind he is speaking from a BIAS perspective. So many decades of brainwashing to finally bring vegan/vegetarian athletics to the table.
I find his training super interesting it's Soooooo simple and super low volume all the way down to only one working set? lol it's crazy there's so many complex training cycles and exercise routines and the Russians are only hitting the main lifts no other exercises lol
i suggest you watch a video on JTStrengt about specificity in lifting programs, they explain this topic there, it's because he is so strong and so developed he can only allow himself to train the basics
He keeps talking about he was dehydrated. He couldnt just drink more water to rehydrate? apparently its not that simple? Also he doesnt want his kids to lift? what?what? what? WHAT????????
+quangfps He is a world class lifter, he know more than anyone the sacrifices one must do to be the best. . Maybe he doesn't want his kids to lift seriously like him, maybe he just want them to be healthy, normal and happy, no need to be strongest
+quangfps once you're dehydrated you can drink all the water in the world but will still have dry mouth the next minute and feel weak, drink before you're thirsty eat before you're hungry
Walks it out and hits absolutely certain depth. A true honorable old school lifter.
No joke. His drive out of the hole is unreal at that weight too.
Dehydration, uncomfortable due to heat, sleep deprived and he still manages a 1036lb squat, 584lb bench and a 830 deadlift, absolute monster.
Андрюха красавчик добрейший человек.
Ok now i have to say it. BEST POWERLIFTING CHANNEL EVARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
i just wanna be this guys friend. he looks like the nicest dude
Times like these I wish I could read :/

Malan speaking the truth, all these monolift squats and no one comes close if they walk it out.
One of my favourite lifters of all time! I met Andrey in Sydney at the end of 2014. I tried to tell him that we have the same name but he just smiled and nodded as he had no idea what the fuck i was saying! lol

Get this man a monolift. We should all donate to get him one in Russia.
Someone should start a gofundme for Andrey's monolift. Seriously, I can promise that many people would chip in and get him one in a matter of a week.
Thanks for the interview!
Much Respect.
Beast in the gym but a humble person
Четкий мужик, легендарный пауэрлифтер.

So Ed Coan spotted the heaviest raw squat of all time, not long after he said "I'm a terrible spotter, my guys would never want me to spot them". ?
Ikr! pretty funny hahah
That dude is beast !

Amazingly well done video! Thank you for this!
wish I could understand Russian so I could understand this better. I feel like the sub gives you a general idea of what he's saying but not fully. All in all incredible work for whoever put up the subtitle and video.
On behalf of all the fans thank you so much for all the hardwork supertraining team!
I trilingual including russian...the translation is pretty much spot on,you really don't miss anything just reading the subtitles...
ah thanks!
What a strong dude! Incredible!
@3:35 That USPA judge was seriously on his phone the whole time throughout that lift. Like really ? If he wasn't he probably would of notice the miss load . I wouldn't blame the loader to much though. Js my opinion...
Вот это вот интервью. 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Классный мужик
He makes those weights look easy
I still can't believe how easy he makes that squat look.
I read the title as 'Angry Malanichev' haha
great interview.
Супер человечище и супер спортсмен !
Great Andrey!!
9:35 isnt it mandatory to have your gear inspected?
He work at a office once a month !?!
Андрей красава!!!
real siberian man, kind and strong
Did he wet himself coming out of the hole on that 1034lbs squat? and whats the thing hanging from his rigth wrist wrap?
Otlitshnyi video!! Bolshe takih!! Russkiji bagatyre kak i amerikanskie umejut tusavatsa i trenirovatsa vmeste!!!! Super! :)
i got happy when was asked about early years of powerlifting but didnt get what i wanted whether he worked many more movements back then or just the 3 main lifts :( still walking but hope he talks about accessories at some point
The subtitles are the best f@cking idea ever :D.

Does anyone know what Zahir totalled at the last meet where he set the new raw squat record?
+Noah Thiel 2447.5 I believe
When is the Layne Norton stuff coming?...
My question got on there!
"Are calves important and should you grass feed them?" Lol was the second part a joke or just terminology I haven't heard
thats an inhumanly strong man
How does he total basically the same raw and in gear ? You'd figure he'd squat 500 kg in gear by now but he didn't attempt it at the super cup
+jmarcotte2127 He doesn't like gear and is not good at getting the most out of it.
Was that guy playing with his phone when he was reffing?????
Incredible that he could get an extra 20% out of the monolift, I wish he'd trained with it so we could see some ridiculous 1100+ raw squat.
Lol@ 2:04. Announcer screams 136.2 lbs.
Mike Bolloskis new world record
Красава👍
Good character too
Малан умничка
Нет души добрее.
No mentions in the comments of that nutella jar for breakfast? Yes please.
so simple his training his diet I think lots of ppl overthink
this guy is a monster and there is alot of good info
All of these russian guys (Konstantin, Andrey, Sarychev, Zahir) engage in this weird method of hydration using a cocktail of aminos, salts, piracitam, and some other stuff. Never seen it in the states before. I want to try it out but this aint like a recipe you find online.
Such a nice guy :))))
How old is he now?
3:25 so that guy picked his phone over Malanichev deadlift, not impressed at all
+Average Life Joe actually that was the guy who did not controll the weight guys job properly, at that moment the one side of the bar was heavier, which tilted the weigh on the side and put too much pressure on one of the leg biceps in which he felt a pinch. Because of the that his next lift wasnt very good because that leg biceps had stronger pain and he had an injury. +Average Life Joe thats why after the lift he started showing on the bar
CYC has got the best squat yet
translation is miles away from what he was saying...
What's a "tricot" ? a Singlet?
did ray williams break this squat record?
did he compete at 308 or superheavyweight? Just find it weird he had such diffiulty staying hydrated, unless he had to cut weight. Don't really see the point competing at 308 if you're setting world records...and conversely if your not cutting weight, why would it be so difficult o stay hydrated if you're chugging isotonics all day?

+MrJosh6889 where exacty he said this? time
I watched this months ago. Couldn't tell you where, but I remember it.
MrJosh6889 I found it. This is just shitty translation.
Actually he said - if i didn't get so much weight with water (up to 162kg from 153) then I would lose even more water in competition, and this could cause chest injury. Something like that
I guess that makes a little more sense. Thanks.
I love Andrey as person/athlete but 20% added to your squat with a mono lift? I dunno bro.
why was an athlete like him would fly in a economy class?? I can't imagine what those small seats feel like for 300+ something guy
how tall is andrey?
182 cm
23:51 Thats it
Man the hate of Vegans is getting ridiculous. People should judge the individual not the choice.
+Witcherworks How did he hate on vegans? He just said that that diet is not optimal for sports.
17MXT Let me be specific. Andrey didn't hate. He showed mad respect just like most people do from OTHER countries. The question was added in there as Satire. It obviously has nothing to do with him and was only used to throw a shot at vegans. Lets be serious here please. I have much love for Andrey. Witcherworks I am not arguing if he is right or wrong...
Like looking away
can you imagine a fucking 1100 raw squat
Watching him squat gave me leg doms
translation is bad !!!
Whoooooaaaaa did I hear him right he considers his Squat speed as slow????
приседания быстро!!!
I find his training super interesting it's Soooooo simple and super low volume all the way down to only one working set? lol it's crazy there's so many complex training cycles and exercise routines and the Russians are only hitting the main lifts no other exercises lol

Я реально верю,что он смог бы при хороших условиях 1150-1190
Tiny deadlift spotter or enormous lifter :) ?
He wouldn't want his kids to powerlift professionally? That's something to think about.
+Cường Lưu Việt but a waste of genetics tho.
+quangfps once you're dehydrated you can drink all the water in the world but will still have dry mouth the next minute and feel weak, drink before you're thirsty eat before you're hungry
That girls raspy voice just ruins the clip where he sets the new WR
Looking forward to you being the first to nail 500kg.
Someone needs to buy this man a monolift so he can squat 500kg
Great side judge on his phone haha
24:22 watch them fuckers leave the weight on the machine. ☝️☝☝
1:51 I would be pissing myself too with that much weight
+LayzieTM he peed on audience to show dominance
