I think its called "Pavlina's kids place" for a reason people. Not everyone who interviews has to dig into the depths of the meanings of all the Avett gons. I personally think they probably enjoyed a little change of pace in the interview process.

Your questions are actually really good, you just need to focus on your delivery. Make it sound like you're not reading, but asking them a question that you genuinely care about the answer. Also, don't stick strictly to your script, question their answers so there's actually some back and forth dialogue. You'll be more engaging to the band, and your viewers.
