O sea: ESTAMOS FRENTE A UNA JOYA DE UN GRANDE: FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA.
    GRACIAS Cult Cinema Classics‼

In a way, 1963 doesn't seem so long ago, in the transistor and space age, with Kennedy as President, on the cusp of the British invasion. But doubling that 60-year interval takes you back to the first flight at Kitty Hawk before the first model-T, before the first vacuum tube, before commercial radio, before the completion of the Panama Canal, in the Teddy Roosevelt administration.

Did you know, that this film🎞️ was a first, for many factors??? It was the first Irish made, horror picture. It was the first (anywhere) 'axe wielding' horror/slasher movie. It was Frances Ford Coppola's, very first, directional debut.

1963 is right there in the youtube title. I assume we all know that color film was invented in the early 20th century. The main reason is that color films were more expensive to shoot than black and white. Monochrome feature films were still being made by major studios well into the 1960's. Also, not all digitally colorized films are equal. This one in particular looks like ass. Sound quality is poor as well. Dementia 13 is public domain, meaning it's available on at least a dozen streaming sites and available for download from the internet archive. See it in black and white, it has some great moody cinematography.

Vocês deviam colocar no cabeçalho Roger Corman, 1963.

"..an American girl...raised on promises." First time I've seen this film. Now I see what you did, Tom Petty. Can't wait for the next rock 'n roll trivia game.

Where was that? This movie predates that song by 13 years.

@SuziQ. It was a line in this movie. I don't remember exactly where now, but I was calling out Tom Petty for stealing that line/song title from this movie.

@@petem.3719 , I read the trivia. It’s surmised that he did get the line from this movie.

@SuziQ. Ahh.. I had never heard that discussed. I just surmised it independently. Makes sense. It's a GREAT line. Glad it lives on.

This film is a favorite of Stephen King (see his book "Danse Macabre"). So I am guessing that the choice of Halloran as the name of the cook in The Shining was a wink to that movie.

The advanced colorization has a bit of a flaw. The actors (male & female alike) look as though they're wearing eye liner with an orange hue. Apart from that, it's good. The audio is rather low. Without amps, you have to use closed captioning to catch all the lines.
It has a nice plot with the surprise twist at the end, revealing the nature of those nightmares.
I love the Castle and scenery. We need more like this.

I was watching this with other kids back in the 70s and we turned the channel after watching that lady try to get out of the lake and get killed by an axe. Too intense for young kids.
