I don't like this colorized version, it looks kind of yellow and cheap (perhaps it was not done properly??)- the black/white version is much more beautiful, more aesthetic...
In a way, 1963 doesn't seem so long ago, in the transistor and space age, with Kennedy as President, on the cusp of the British invasion. But doubling that 60-year interval takes you back to the first flight at Kitty Hawk before the first model-T, before the first vacuum tube, before commercial radio, before the completion of the Panama Canal, in the Teddy Roosevelt administration.
Thank you 💕 for your time , I've just subscribed . I'm over 70 year's old ( Anglo Irish grandma 🍀 ) and my lovely father wouldn't even let me watch Top of the Pops . This would have shocked him as the fake Irish accents are hilarious . Oh ! How I miss him even though I got a couple of clouts when I was a teenage rebel .
This didn't go where I thought it was heading, and while I thought I knew the ending, it kept getting a bit...muddled so as to create doubt. Interesting.
Since I've seen this in color now, there's so many info factors, I caught this time, that I've never, realized before. This is wonderful, in color☺️👍!!! Did you know, that this film🎞️ was a first, for many factors??? It was the first Irish made, horror picture. It was the first (anywhere) 'axe wielding' horror/slasher movie. It was Frances Ford Coppola's, very first, directional debut.
Sorry it was NOT the 1st horror/slasher LMFAO what TF ……and no I am not going to waste my time schooling someone who spouts this sort of willfully ignorant and uneducated tripe/opinion. You can maybe next time give an educated opinion on it …..

1963 is right there in the youtube title. I assume we all know that color film was invented in the early 20th century. The main reason is that color films were more expensive to shoot than black and white. Monochrome feature films were still being made by major studios well into the 1960's. Also, not all digitally colorized films are equal. This one in particular looks like ass. Sound quality is poor as well. Dementia 13 is public domain, meaning it's available on at least a dozen streaming sites and available for download from the internet archive. See it in black and white, it has some great moody cinematography.
If I was that lady and there was something spooky going on I'd take all my clothes off in the middle of the night and dive into the swamp. That's what I'd do.
Louise and Kane looked very similar, in my opinion: at the beginning I could not understand that they were two different girls, and could not grasp why John's wife after getting rid of him, decided to become a bride of Richard so quickly.
This is still a very underated psychological horror film with elements later present in Body Heat , Straight Jacket, and The Deep End. Great classic. Thanks !
