Sometimes when I'm grading my student's papers I listen to his song, "Sailing". I begin to drift off to my middle school days, and high days and how much time has passed. Its almost sad to see how times have changed and so many kids will never understand the memories we have and why we talk about the 70s and 80s.
I had no idea! Yes, absolutely he is. And reading the comment from @cardinal701 it makes sense. He has that Lukather, Schon, 80's rock type of style and he executes it perfectly.
I met Christopher Cross once. I asked him about his fantastic ability to play lead guitar , he replied "I do once in awhile just enough to let the world know I can do it".☝ 🎉🎉🎉
I was born in 75. This was the soundtrack of some of of the first music i can remember. My early life wasn't great, but these songs produce a gut wrenching effect that i can't help remember the good parts. Thank you for this. Not sure if explained it right but this music invokes an emotional reaction from me and i love it
Thanks for uploading, beautiful singer with a pure voice. Seeing him together with my dad is one of my most precious memories. Thanks CC. God bless you
This man has a beautiful soul creating music. It really hits you through the bottom of your heart. When i was kid till this days i didn't find my self tired of this music of a lifetime. Thank you Chris for this timeless music you brought to the world. God bless you. 🙏❤
Hi from Australia, incredible and thanks for sharing this real musicians. No huge show around them needed playing of instruments, the feeling the harmonisation back up singing and of course Christopher cross voice. Never be the same was part of our wedding reception three years ago.. As there was a time we didn’t think would make it so a lot to thank Christopher cross for! Stay well everybody. Cheers
Have to take this opportunity to say thank you for sharing this beautiful concert performance. Such a great band. Thank you from a fan who has had your beautiful music in his life since 1980. Best regards from 🇩🇰
The dude can also shred! I’ll never fiorget living in an apartment with my cousin and he brought home this new album. Christopher Cross. 50 plus years later it’s still own of my favorites.
FREAKIN LEGEND ! THIS GUY IS STILL PLAYING CONCERTS ALL OVER THE WORLD ........... IF YOU GET THE CHANCE GO SEE HIM ! CHRISTOPHER CROSS!!!!!!! ADD HIM TO YOUR BUCKET LIST YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED
I know what you mean. Some friends and I went to see him at the Hollywood Bowl a little while ago this year, 2024… The man sounds exactly the same. And his guitar skills,…. Wow!! Criminally underrated guitarist. Too underrated. Chris Cross is truly amazing.
"...And his guitar skills,…. Wow!! Criminally underrated guitarist. Too underrated..." His lead guitar solo in "Ride Like the Wind" is over-the-top AWESOME!! Just saw him in concert a few days ago in Annapolis (with Maxi Priest & Jason Scheff [former Chicago lead singer])... concert was great and brought back many great memories!
I used to put on Another Page when I came home from work, and fall asleep every night with it playing in my headphones. I love that album. His music was so much a part of my life in the 80's.....❤
That‘s really beautiful music from the first to the last minute. I also love the setlist here and the fact that he includes several songs from his „Back of my mind“ album, too.
I was never lucky enuff to see Chris perform live but I bought this on VHS (remember those?) when this was first released and it has always been one of my fav concerts of all time.
🎭Masterful Performance Luv Luv Luv ♥️The best in music 🎙️🎭Christopher Cross my favorite musician, Thanks for sharing this beautiful concert, Chris! ! !

Speechless!!!! Absolutely fantastic performance on all and every level possible 💪💪💪 And then cherry on top, Michael McDonald joins in!! Can’t make that up. Always have loved your music, songs and style, for decades, just did not fully realize how much until I watched, uninterrupted, this magnificent performance from “5 minutes ago” ❤ Thank you very much for posting this concert Chris. Saved to music list to play again and again and share 👍🏻👍🏻
great show but sure it was 1998 ,never mind to see Chris plus My favourite songwriter Rob Meurer on keys Kiki Ebsen Gigi Worth timeless glad got it on dvd enjoy who never seen it before awesome music RIP Rob Meurer miss you
The first song I actually heard from Christopher Cross was Swept Away when it was played on that episode of Growing Pains where the Seavers spend their summer vacation in Maui & that's how I became a fan of his music. Also, I don't mean to brag or anything but I am a Growing Pains fanatic. I have been a fan of that late 80's/early 90's sitcoms since I was in the 2nd grade.
I don't know if you're going to read my message, but I heard your music from when I was a child. You came to Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. My mother and I went to see you. We love your voice and how harmonious your music is. You are an incredible musician and you still do it very well. Thank you for existing and giving us such beautiful melodies! A hug!
I have to say that back in the radio days when this came out...I couldn't stand it. But, after maturing and learning to appreciate the musicianship has been life-changing.
1:20:27 HBO documentary Christopher Cross continues: "So then we drove from Houston down to Austin to record, and I was sitting in the front seat of the van and had taken acid, and I wrote the words to 'Ride Like the Wind,' driving from Houston to Austin, on acid."
"Is There Something" live version here sounds so much better than the album version. CC and the band nailed every single lyrics and note of the song. Great upload! Tnx
It was surprising to see Michael McDonald here! After all his voice is necessary for the ending song. His guitar technique was wonderful when I first heard Say You'll Be Mine, the first song on the first album. Thank you for uploading🙇from🇯🇵

Verdade!
You are so correct..what a time we grew up in...oh how I miss em
Criminally underrated guitarist …
I read Steve Lukathers book and he talks about himself and Chris Cross jamming together and what a great player he is....
@ so cool!
I had no idea! Yes, absolutely he is. And reading the comment from @cardinal701 it makes sense. He has that Lukather, Schon, 80's rock type of style and he executes it perfectly.

He can sure play it for sure
Cross never destroyed his voice. He sounds as good as he did when these first came out.
Hard to believe that 1999 was 25 yrs ago.
so many vivid memories, like it was yesterday...
Great memories...can't believe I'm 63..wow those were some good times

Its not just a cliche! You're right. But we're lucky to even know that. Youngers dont have much good organically written & smooth music like this!
So calming

One-single performer (ride like the wind), but he also owes it to the arrangements
Not ashamed to admit this brought a few tears of joy as well as sadness for what has become of music
Great beat and background music and rhythm 👏. 10*’s! Super Saxophone and Congas. WOW! Super Band!
Michael MacDonald❤️👏👍. Ride Like the Wind!
