  • A quick demo of Cumberland Gap, very close to how it is tabbed in the Clawhammer Banjo book by Miles Krassen (Oak Publications, 1974). Normally it is played in G, but here it is in the key of F with the banjo in the F tuning (fDGCD). If this tuning is capoed up 2, it becomes an alternate G tuning (gEADE) that has been called various names including the Sandy River Belle tuning, and the Cumberland Gap tuning.

WOW! Totally different that the Sophie Enloe version you have on tunes with TABs, I would love TAB on this one Jack! This is very relaxing to listen to!

This is more of a traditional rendition, based on the tab in the Miles Krassen Clawhammer Banjo book. Fun one to play in the F tuning. Check your email for the tab.

Thanks Jim. It's fDGCD (key of F), or if capoed up two, gEADE (key of G), which some people call the Cumberland Gap tuning.
