Sounds like you are making good, incremental progress! So glad my videos are helping with the. Hopefully, you will see to that with steady rhythm and good tone, a very sparce arrangement can sound pretty good. Even with just the slide, the essence of Cripple Creek is there. everything beyond that is icing-very enjoyable icing, but not essential. Have fun!

Glad to hear that my videos are helping. Agreed that a large part of the challenge is understanding how everything fits together. That is what my Cripple Creek lesson series is aimed at. For more clawhammer lessons, check out tom Collins’s (fretless fury) channel. He has many great videos on clawhammer technique. Just keep on picking and you’ll get there in time!
