This is a great point. I realized a couple years ago that I did not like being drawn into hypothetical situations and that I would not entertain them, much to the frustration of the one presenting it. My reasoning was the same as you have presented here: they were the machinations of men and not the one I strive to follow. Thank you JP.

Thank you for a succinct teaching. So many times I find much of human perception is dictated by our limited ability to understand or even experience time. I think it’s the context of time that gives all things their full meaning. It’s no wonder Yah has not only a different but true view of all things being that he is outside time. So paradoxes can be fun little brain teasers but when it comes to real life, they are in fact a waste of the time they fail to take into consideration. But that’s just my opinion … at this point in time. 🙂

Paradox is only from our perspective, but both sides are The Truth. Satan is anti truth, not an equal opposite.

I'm confused about the man breaking into your house to rape your family example. These things do happen though? Albeit very unlikely. Are you saying it's unrealistic coz it's obvious that we should protect our family??

No, I'm saying that we have the same ability to conjure situations in our imagination that are as unuseful as paradoxes. Paradoxes are only real in the mind as are hypothetical situations in which we take refuge in God's name and He fails us.

@@TheWayBiblicalFellowship Did God fail you when you set up tents on Tabernacles and a hurricane blew them over? No, you admitted you were being presumptuous. It's every man's job, according to scripture, to provide for his family. That's including protection. Spiritual and physical protection. Part of the reason most of the belief is off today is because most men have lost their identity. They've given most of their important responsibilities to the government, and boast in the least important. Paying bills. This is partially due to bad teachers telling them to presume(not with those exact words) God is going to be there for them along every step of the way.

That's a really good question. I put a comment above that I hope gives you some clarity. We can't presume, while we are in exile, that God is going to be there every single step of the way. We shouldn't be presumptuous when it comes to any of God's actions. JP even spoke about this when their tents were blown over by a storm during tabernacles. They were warned by the park ranger, but presumed God you give them some kind of divine protection. Unfortunately, men have lost their identity. We are supposed to be the providers for our families, physical and spiritual. Most men take the important responsibilities and give them to the government. Then solely focus on one of the least important, paying bills. In the belief, regretfully, there are a lot of bad teachers that keep men from reaching their full potential.

This started as a really good video, but going to the man breaking in to rape your wife scenario sent it in the wrong direction. Most God fearing men know the scripture regarding murder. That we are not supposed to do it. Then we are met with scripture that says, "love your brother as yourself." Given the scenario it seems like a paradox. However, like Messiah dealt with the Sadducees in Matthew 22:23-45, most paradoxes can be explained away with right understanding. So what's the right understanding. "Just don't think about it..." NO! Let's use scripture to untangle that paradox. Matthew 10:29-31(our value to God is supreme on Earth) keep that in mind with Exodus 23:4-5(even when an animal of an enemy is in distress, we should help it). So if an animal of an enemy is in distress, we should help it, and we are valued higher then animals. Men, we by all means will do whatever it takes to help our family when it is in distress. Certain obedience weighs heavier then others, and loving your brother as yourself is one of the heaviest.
