Gordon was my favorite driver. He did things for the sport and had more of an impact on it's growth than any other driver. They changed the rules to shake things up and keep him from dominating. There's no doubt he would have won more championships if Rick had kept Ray and the rest of that team together. He learned a valuable lesson and kept Jimmie's team together, allowing them to dominate as long as they did. I was sad to see his Jeff's run end but happy he made it out alive and able to live a happy life with his family.
Having back pain is really debilitating...that 200 mph Pocono crash hurt him bad lucky he didn't die...being able to drive as long as he did and still be competitive is really amazing

When they were the #4 guy at HMS, they struggled. Granted, out of all the drivers I named, the only one out of them that I really think is truly untalented is Casey Mears. @@owenparish1793 Dude, that comment was 4 years old. If you're going to pick a fight, keep up to date. Second of all, Jeff Gordon had won just as many races in less time, and ended up with nearly 20 more wins than Earnhardt. He also would've had just as many championships as Earnhardt if it wasn't for the Chase. Heck, Earnhardt probably should've had fewer championships, but in 1990, he got lucky that Mark Martin had that penalty after his Richmond win, and in 1994, the biggest threat for his title, Ernie Irvan got injured mid-season. And that goes without saying that Earnhardt had to wreck people to get the win frequently. Earnhardt's competition also was very similar to Jeff Gordon's as far as how good his competitors were. It's kinda hard to argue that Earnhardt is better, but that's your opinion.
I don't doubt DW had a good chance of winning again after driving Steve Park's car for Dale Earnhardt. But I think the age caught up with him. Everybody assumes the old guard gets the inferior equipment. Benny Parsons quit because of the frustration of racing every week for years and not winning. Years of not winning will make anyone quit.
It was a business move. Jeff has ownership. So which makes the most sense? Jeff stays for two or three more years and more than likely fades a little bit more each year. Dude! Sometimes Jeff sounds like he doesn't know what's going on, on the track. Whereas Jeff's driving ability is superior to Dale Jr, Dale's knowledge of the sport and the cars is far greater than Jeff's. A person new to NASCAR would benefit from watching a race called by Dale Jr as he explains (sometimes gets carried away) so much of what's happening on the track and in the cars. I would love to see him in Tony and Ray's new series
@@lewiskemp5893 Helio Castroneves is just gonna win all the races now.
And Jeff took Darrells job .
I miss Dw
Darrell was/is one of the smartest drivers on the track and then in the booth. People talked shit about DW on Fox but he knew what he was talking about......you don't win 3 Cup championships and 83 Cup races and not know anything.
WWDWD
Jeff doesn't need 100. Chase needed 1, remember that first two years.
Larson is the guy now.
So glad Cindric won but Blaney let em. He should have went with Bubba. Left Cindric.
i dont agree with the "jeff has the best equipment" crap....no he did not...that stuff is so equal nowadays its pathetic
Equal ha yeah right
Uh...Joe the grown ups are talking...
@@davidjessee7701 grown ups eh. That’s funny. I’m sure I know more about nascar then you
To the know it all’s name the better equipment he had ? I’ll wait
never had a reply....a year later....figures
If Jeff would’ve waited they slowed them down to shit
Back issues is no joke
Having a pile of money the size of a race car could cause you to quit………
Please NNNNNOOOOOOOOO send DW and his brother both back to the old folks home..
Jeff has more money then the hillbilly ever thought of making
And then Gordon stole DW's job. Sad.
Wrong.
More like Larry Mac's job.
Toyota crown! The Waltrip's are one of the reasons why Toyota came in to NASCAR👎
So I decided to research nascar. Before the death of #3 It was a blood sport🏴☠️ So many senseless deaths of beautiful men. Why anyone would want to race 🏁 is beyond me 🤷🏼♀️
I didn’t respect DW , his 1st few years, but he has been NASCAR’s best announcer. I liked racing better when it wasn’t about being a celebrity and all political. I like the technology but they don’t want you to know much about what’s going on. I guess that’s getting too close on the cheating side of the Sport.
BP Benny Parsons
let chase have a chance ha what a mistake that was
Adam RTR not really. He's performing the best at Hendrick Currently
@Adam RTR is it still a mistake?
I’ll take “comments that didn’t age well” for $500 Alex.
Cup series champ now ha mistake my ass
@@chadkimble7456 only because of this rigged chase format
He left because nascar is dead.
Gordon should leave the broadcast booth for good. He sucks! At least when he drove you would listen to him once in a while and that wad to much. Retire Jeff Gordon!
Sorry about the long reply, but I totally agree with you.
