I bought the exact same unit 5 months ago and it is already rusting/pitting and the stainless steel has turned a streaked gray color. Cleaning doesn't change anything. After a load is finished there is also a thin layer of what looks like liquid aluminum or mercury floating on the leftover water in the bottom of the boiler and the water doesn't have a real great taste. Before this unit I had a Water Wise brand unit that looks exactly like this unit, I think the same company in China makes all of them and just puts different brand names on them. My Water Wise unit also rusted while it was still under warranty and they replaced both the boiler and stainless top with better quality stainless, didn't have any problems with rust after that but this Rovsun unit is awful, I can't even use it anymore, had to pull my old Water Wise unit out again. I bought the Rovsun after the burner went out on my Water Wise unit after 7 years of use and then I decided to fix my old unit and have it as a backup. Glad I did.
That’s unfortunate. We’ve noticed more build up recently when it’s finished a cycle which we assume is harder water from the city. Ours is still going strong after a year and half or so running twice a day. I’d say as long as you’re getting clean water use whatever works!
This wasALMOST perfect review. Why didn’t you show us WHERE the charcoal filter goes on that unit? The directions shows a different unit that does match the unit you were reviewing-same one I have. So bummed..
