    Thanks for pointing out the differences in depiction between the pull down Vs pull up designs in the schematic. Just goes to show that 2 people can look at the same thing and leave with different levels of info.

    Your videos are rich with information that techs at many different levels will appreciate. Some mechanics think that checking power and ground feeds is as simple as measuring 12V and 0V with a power probe. Nope. Watch through to the end and see how a master gets a dynamic result he can trust, without investing a lot of time.

    Great thought process on a strange and misleading fault! Always hard to call an ECM on some 200mV difference, but everything else seems OK. Would love to see the outcome of this.

    Thanks so much, I like the fact that you use test bulbs to check circuits. It helps me a lot when it comes to loading the circuit and get the better understanding of it. Your videos (amongst others like PHD,SMA and SD) made me grasp the concept of using test bulbs, how to load the circuits.

    Thanks for sharing and very informative. Buying tools never stops. It seems like every video i watch and every manufacturer requires one more piece of equipment to complete the procedure. As time goes on the tool box and test equipment will continue to grow. Maybe you videotape the replacement and reprograming 😊

    Great video.... Had several problems on traverse, Acadia and equinox with the 3.6... the ground wire has always been the fault.... The last one they replace the thermostat and left the ground wire that feeds the TB loose..... Also has seen many with corrosion...Video is full of great information.... Great job!!!

    Had someone contact me about "programming" a new module he just installed on his truck. First he sent the core out which was a big no no. Then he called the dealer and they said the truck was too old for them to get the "software" for it and he'd be better off selling the truck or trading it in. If I had the old module and an OBDStar DC706, I could've made an easy buck. I seen many opportunities where this tool would have practically paid itself off in no time and building more of a reputation as someone that can come right out to you and clone modules on the fly.

    28:54 this is a perfect illustration of why it’s crucial to use a power supply style charger when doing testing. This will ensure the correct diagnostic conclusion on voltage drop tests.

    Awesome case study, I wish you would have jumped a known good 5VRef onto that line to see if everything would have worked OK, it seems that the ECM has more than one voltage regulator or that specific line has an internal voltage drop.

    I'd be tempted to open up the computer. The voltages suggest that moisture has gotten in right about where that circuit lives. It might be repairable with a bit of cleaning.

    I am not exactly sure what ECM cloning is, but I would suggest to take out the main board and replace all the electrolytic caps first.
    In 90% cases it's dried out caps, just saying.
    Very useful video.

    I just recently worked on an enclave and it was the same thing...if you check the pin at pcm for the app sensor it never goes to 0v it lingers around the .5v range goes up and down randomly.

    • @MrSuperchargedv8
      @MrSuperchargedv8 11 місяців тому

      It was a bit weird because I believe the other app sensor would go to zero this is with the connector at pedal unplugged. Also when you applied pedal that specific sensor would max out around 60% and the other would max out at 99%. I ruled out wiring and pin fitment; the only thing that I picked up was that weird lagging voltage on that pin it was not consistent at all and was very slow to come back down to the base voltage. I assumed it was supposed to come back to zero like the other sensor; but it worked out.

    I have a question. I'm having similar issues. I've replaced the ECM, but the throttle p0223 codes are still coming up. I've replaced the throttle body twice. Where should I start with diagnosing? Thx ❤

    • @IMTHISBABY
      @IMTHISBABY 11 місяців тому

      @autodiagprogramming Yeah, it's that code p0223 tps sensor 2 circuit high voltage. I wonder if having the ECM go bad caused the tps to mess up. 🤔 obviously, I'm not a mechanic. I do find this interesting though...thanks to my Dad I learned a ton about cars...lol the computer parts have been obnoxious for me. I miss the cars without the bells and whistles...haha

    Is the replacement throttle body a GM oem unit or some aftermarket ebay junk?

    • @codyarizona4925
      @codyarizona4925 Рік тому +1

      @Automotive Diagnostics & Programming From my experience the vehicle acts exactly like it has a bad throttle body, I've replaced alot of them on GM v6. I'd at least try used Oem TB befor replacing the pcm.

    • @codyarizona4925
      @codyarizona4925 Рік тому +1

      @Automotive Diagnostics & Programming yea i agree the app code isn't usually there. I'm curious if the App code was present prior to the Tb being replaced or if it appeared afterwards. I worked on escalade similar issue and the aftermarket Tb for some reason would not correlate with the oem pedal, replacing both Tb & pedal with oem gm was the fix. I'm very interested to see what the new pcm will do. Great video! 👍👍
