- Опубліковано 14 сер 2022
- Check out every shot from the dramatic three-hole playoff at the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship, where Will Zalatoris beat Sepp Straka to earn his first victory on the PGA TOUR. After a tee shot that saw his ball bounce on the rocks while avoiding the water, Zalatoris took a drop from the penalty area and saved bogey to capture the win on the third playoff hole at TPC Southwind.

The top 125 players in the FedExCup Standings will tee it up just outside of Memphis this week in the first of three FedExCup Playoffs events. Scottie Scheffler will head to TPC Southwind leading the FedExCup points list after an incredible 2022 has seen him win four times, including a win at the Masters Tournament in April. Tony Finau heads into the playoffs ranked seventh in the FedExCup Standings after back-to-back victories at the 3M Open and the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The American won the first FedExCup Playoffs event in 2021 and will be hoping to defend his title at a new host golf course. Cameron Smith will return to play for the first time since his victory at The Open. Last year, the Australian narrowly missed out on a victory in the first FedExCup Playoffs event after losing to Tony Finau in a playoff. Sitting in the second position in the FedExCup Standings, a good finish for Smith at the FedEx St. Jude should see him sitting in prime position to challenge for the PGA TOUR’s ultimate prize at the end of the month. Last year’s FedExCup winner Patrick Cantlay, currently sitting in fifth, will look to become the first ever back-to-back FedExCup winner. The 30-year-old has only won once this season at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, but comes into the playoffs in great form, finishing inside the top 10 in his three most recent events.

I’m over joyed Will won! This young man has really improved his putting! It was great to see Will win in this play off! It was Will’s day! Look forward to seeing Will playing in the next leg of the FedEx Championship!
8:20 Will just watching it out of the corner of his eye is one of those things you won't forget. Amazing win Will.
there's something about that rock bounce that made it feel like it was truly fate that big Z would take it home.
Congrats to Zalatoris! He finally came out on top! Must be great to finally break through and have it go his way. Amazing
It's so sad hearing someone yell "get in the water" at Straka's putt.
You can even hear someone yell “ Do it again” when he hits his 3rd shot from the drop zone on the 3rd playoff hole
Must’ve had Zalatoris in his golf pool
One of the wildest playoffs you'll ever see.
Big mistake by Straka after Will was in trouble. Aim left, two putts for the win.
Kinda unbelievable. He must have really bailed out / choked to end up in the water. The 3 wood on the previous hole was heavy. Pressure.
Another couch coach. Be quiet you nothing
yes, so dumb
we know, the pros do know that. but pressure, in playoffs...
LIV golfer would have hit the green
“Go in the water” shouts just disgusting honestly
It’s pretty funny ngl trash talk should be in all sports 😭
5:50 you hear a little kid saying it. Disgusting. They should be immediately removed kid or not
On a putt is more of a joke than a hope.
Nah, golf's lame enough we need trash talk and loud crowds. All the other sports have to deal with it, so why can't golfers?
@@maskedmarvel golf is a gentleman’s game. Of course there’s gonna be loud crowds at a football game where guys are trying to take each other’s heads off. 4th day of a major tied for the lead when a win could change your career trajectory and you have fans calling for your demise? Go watch a football game if you wanna act like that. Two different atmospheres for a reason
The real star of the show was Strakas caddie with that beautiful Hat tan line. Simply amazing
He's been knocking at the door all year. Great win.
Clutch amazing golf by both players. Hats off to both of them 👏👏👏
whoever says "go in the water" deserves to never hit the greens
Was watchin live.... could not believe Straka played that dangerous flag on his last tee shot. 20 foot putt was what he wanted. Why wasn't the caddy in his ear...
I was saying it out loud as soon as Willy whiffed....
How do you know he played the dangerous flag. Maybe he was going for the centre of the green and his shot went right
this man deserves a victory from everything he has tried
Will has been knocking on the door for months.
Check out the caddie's tan line at 7:47. You will not be disappointed.
so much emotion for him. Congrat
Wow, what odds that their shots were so identical bouncing off those rocks.
The video quality is kinda bad. The audio and the live video seen aren't synchronized.
This is how it was on live tv as well, there were technical difficulties just before the playoff started.
Will’s wedge play 😍😍😍
Took a drop
2:19 “go in the water” 💀
Did they leave out one of Strakas shots? At 3:59 he’s hitting from the fairway when it showed his tee shot going into the tall grass earlier
They may have made a ruling that he was in the hazard and thus dropped. Not sure, I didn't watch the coverage.
He ( Straka ) decided to take a drop after taking off one shoe & toying with the idea of advancing the ball ( which he could've & should've done, even though I didn't want him to win ). Me thinks it would've been a dif outcome so I'm glad he decided to take that drop but yes, they should've included that seg in this vid.
@@Kazyman he hit his next shot to 5 ft after the drop, so I'm not sure how it could have turn out any better had he hit it forward 30 yards unless he miraculously made the approach shot from 100 yards out.
@@IlliniDog01 You're right ... and they both wound up parring the hole.
Good job uploading this!
FINALLY!!!!!!!! TEXAS 🤘🏽 Back on the Map! Way to go Will!
Happy Gilmore is proud
Just awesome! Really love this course. This was an awesome battle! Really want of the most fun three hole playoffs I've seen in a while. Congrats to Zalatoris.
Congratulations Will! 🎊🎊🎊
Dallas golf is alive and well! 💪💪💪
Awesome Finish
Happy for the man
07:34 Winner
Let’s go Zally!!!
Crazy playoff.... Why though did they play the same hole twice in a row to start though?
@@maxolsen3083 they went 18 18 11
@@maxolsen3083 Ok, just seems weird they'd replay the same hole, but if that's how they do it, 🤷♂
Better than the LPGA, they replayed hole 18 4 times before they decided the Open winner. Boring
@@johnnysoccer1983 it just saves time from them going all they way back to a different whole. also they want the final hole usually to be the 18th because they have the most spectators and cameras there to capture the moment. If they went all the way back to 1 then there would probably be half as many people there and the ending wouldn't be as exciting
@@hankhudson81 They really should play different holes each time..... I guess they want to stay close to the last hole so they don't have to travel for presentations and stuff, but ... that's just lazy and playing other holes is better for spectators and gives both players more of a challenge and doesn't favour someone who might be better at one type of hole than the others.
The way people run to surround a players ball has always baffled me. Like you ve never seen a gold ball before.
Spectators that shout out "Go in the hole!" have the IQ of a biscuit
I know, it's so annoying.. When did it become cool for these yokels to shout their "look at me" catch phrases. They should be escorted 100 yards from the microphones, minimum. "GET IN DA HOOooooLE" And how rude were they to cheer and clap when Straka hit a bad shot. That's so obnoxious. You can be happy, you don't brazenly cheer against a guy.
What people don’t know is Jim Furyk is his biological father
All Straka had to do was get it on the green ~ shoot for the center of the green and he could have 2 putted for the win!!
They did not show every shot ... the 2nd shot by Straka on the 2nd hole wasn't shown .. unless it was a drop or something... it wasn't clear for those who didn't watch it
Straka chose to take a drop for some reason
@@merkamark Because he didn't want his feet to be in the water when he hit it, and with the ball well above his feet too, far too risky, the drop ended up being the right play
Fantastic tournament! Too bad Cam Smith didn't play better. It's going to be very sad not watching him play golf anymore.
How/where do you watch the PGA now? Asking for a friend
All of a sudden Straka was hitting third from fairway. What happened there????
He would of had to stand in the water to hit, would of been risky, safer to take a drop considering Will had to layup
What A playoff!
Anyone else notice the audio delay?
What happened to Strakas second shot on the second playoff hole? he looked like he had a good tee shot and then when he was hitting his approach shot they said it was his third? Was his tee shot unplayable somehow?
He called an unplayable on his drive’s lie, since Zalatoris had to punch out. It was on the edge of the hazard but he would have had to take both shoes off and played standing in the water.
classic PGA Tour channel doesn't upload every shot.. i'm surprised they didn't only show them putting.
I would recommend not putting who wins in the title. It’s kind of a spoiler
U live under a rock?
@@tdub752 meaning
Great result for Will. Shame about the jocks cheering when Sebb hit a couple of bad ones. I guess that’s what happens when you can’t handle your alcohol.
Happy that Will finally got his first victory, but this was honestly really bad golf. It’s exciting, but really dumb drive on 2nd playoff hole.
And Straka putting it in the water after knowing up and down for Will is almost impossible… honestly looks like a rookie mistake at that level.
Golf is hard
easy to watch, they are both too young and in huge pressure.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever played golf, but playing when one person is watching is nerve racking. Imagine the pressure in this situation. You’re seeing them play under insane pressure in a playoff.
How do you know he wasn't aiming for the middle of the green and his shot went right? Pro Golfers miss greens all the time, sometimes it cuts or draws too much
2:17 "GO IN THE WATER" HAHAHA
How can the crowd scream while they're teeing off like that?
video lagging
They literally didn't though. If you pay attention, you can tell from the sound of the ball contact, that the sound and video aren't synchronised.
cuz the video lagged
Yeah. It's 2022, and we have video lag issues. Even on my cable tv, I get it all the time. Go figure, didn't really ever happen in the 90s.
Hmmm. . . my question is, was Z's ball in the hazard on #11? If not, then how was he able to go to the drop zone? It seems then that his only option was to declare an unplayable lie. And there are only 3 options for that: 1. Play the shot over, that is go back to the tee in this case, 2. go backwards keeping that spot on a line with the flag stick, or 3. drop the ball within 2 club lengths no nearer the hole. So even though the ball was not in the water, I guess they deemed it in the hazard.
He took a drop and one stroke
@@PokeTherapy34 The ONLY way he could drop where he did is if his ball was regarded in the hazard even though it was not in the water. A player cannot just drop anywhere from an unplayable lie situation.
Yes, it was a yellow hazard.
@@georgesealy4706 can one drop away because it could cause damage to the club or player if an attempt was made at it 🤔 it seemed to be below the level of the rocks
@@mikejones-go8vz You have to take an 'unplayable lie.' It costs you a stroke and then you have to drop the ball in compliance with the rule.
How do they not mention what happened to Straka on the 2nd playoff hole?
Fix the sound lol
Im all for a lively crowd, but cheering when Straka's shots go in the water or bunker, and yelling "get in the water" when he's putting etc. is kinda disgraceful. Is this a kind of "patriotism"? I wonder if those yokel's knew he's actually an American citizen too they wouldn't act so cringe-worthy. But anyway, exciting playoff. well deserved and overdue victory for Zalatoris. He'll be world #1 by some point next year.
very disappointing to see this kind of thing
A very racist bunch assembled there.
Guarantee the PGA is trying to make this kid the new face of golf ⛳. They're feeding him the secrets of the course.
theyre not feeding him secrets but they are encouraging the commentary and they also feature his group as often as possible
Why was Zalatoris not hitting two from the fringe???
his ball on that par 3 was stuck between the rocks and the grass making it hard for him to advance so he took an unplayable and went to the designated drop area.
Good Will hunting glory
Man.. anyone who shouts “go in the water” is just a loser. Disrespectful.
American fans living up to the reputation
You might see terrible golf here, but really this greatness in the making.
Schade Sepp! Da können einem schon mal die Nerven dazwischenfunken. Trotzdem tolle Leistung, weiter so!
every shot except for Sepp Straka's second on the second playoff hole......
Well that was him dropping a ball from his hand so not really a shot.
From Caddie to Champion
Gratulation bravo Sepp
Sepp, just hit the center of the green and win!
Zalatoris looks like the kid caddy from Happy Gilmore
He is the same person lol
*not every shot
How many bogeys or worse have won a playoff?
Two man playoff is match play.
Why did straka take a penalty ?
Never thought ppl would be pressed abt me yelling get in the water😭
multi-million dollar company and you cant even get the sound right on a youtube video LOL
Would spank my kid if yelled get in the water at the top of his lungs like that
What a bad play from straka. Dude should have just put it on the green instead of taking an aggressive line.
More than likely he bailed out due to pressure imho. I bet he was aiming left. His 2nd tee shot on 18 was chunky and it barely made the lake. You just swing different under really heavy pressure and it's hard to practice.
No amount of Saudi money will buy that kind of excitement and suspense. Sorry LIV Golf, you ain’t got squat on this
Go LIV! Go Cameron Smith!
So in the tournaments he has played since his maiden Masters appearance, Has anyone finished higher on average than Will?? This dude is great, people love him and he is great for the game. #WillTheThrill #F*ckPhilGoWill
Audio de-sync, no explanation on the 2nd playoff hole, poor video.
I enjoyed the video :)
What a rude crowd
Disgusting reaction from the crowds.
why PGA tour videos now decreasing in views? is it because of LIV?
You know this video would be alot more entertaining if you didn't spoil it in the title lol wonder why LIV is gaining so much traction
LIV has entered the chat....
a shame some of the audience men are so immature and yelling during a swing...

Apparently zalatoris took an illegal drop on the last hole play off? Anyone confirm?
How? He took it back to the drop zone. It is perfectly legal.
@@iexcelca that's what I thought. Did he do an illegal drop in the other 3 round maybe? Or might just be some troll bs'ing. I just saw someone comment it
perfectly legal drop. You are always allowed to take a drop from an unplayable lie, and since this is over water there is a designated drop zone. some idiot is trolling if they think zalatoris could made an illegal drop in front of all the crowds and tour officials....
Mad probs to you pga guys for actually caring about highlights. Maybe Liv competition awakened you
I don’t care what anyone thinks about this, but shouting “go in the water” should not happen.
The three worst playoff holes in PGA history.
Those fans should be thrown out!!! Yelling for dudes ball to go in the water and cheering when he messes up, no wonder he Fd up so bad at the end the whole gallery was against him
