Let us know what you thought about Netherlands entry for Eurovision 2024.

I know that is not related to the video, but I beg to you somehow maybe with video to pressure on the EBU, Israel wants to send total another song to the Eurovision -“dance Forever” , it is not even connected to something that is maybe would be political, they try to ban Israel and they reject to any song, they are just antisemitic, the EBU needs to be ashamed
*put pressure
@@יונתןסימנדוייב-ר3סIsrael should be banned!
Super. About the loss of his father at young age and he needs to go for his future. He promised his father. No borders. "The world is yours"; his father told him.
Vette shit , Ouwe!!
Gabbers unite and hardstyle 4EVER!!
THE Netherlands ( look it up on google)with Joost will open Die Moshpitt.
WATERLOO 2024.
Keep on posting, you are too funny.
Please don't call it a joke. This song is not a joke. This song describes the Netherlands - it is in Dutch, the music genre (hardcore/hardstyle originated in the Netherlands), the music video shows mills and beautiful Dutch landscape. Eurovision is an emotional affair for Joost. As a child, he watched it together with his parents. "Parents, one day I'm going to be on Eurovision stage" and he made it. Unfortunately, his parents died when he was a child. This song is dedicated to his late father. That's why it's called EUROPAPA. The part in the song “I'm in Germany, but I'm so alone. I'm in Italy, but I still feel the pain, etc.", I feel it's directed at his parents... His lyrics are mostly very deep, but the melody is happy, danceable and the clips of his song are presented in a fun way. I've been waiting for your reaction. Don't take my comment personally. I'm putting it here as a little observation. I'll see you for further reactions.
Is a joke song
@@inezfeytons8896 you are a joke🙄
@@inezfeytons8896Both you and the two people making this video missed the subtext.
@@inezfeytons8896 What makes you think that?👀
@@rvds5003 So will the viewers on the night, cause nobody speaks the language except the Dutch themselves
You did not get it at all. As every single year. 😏🙄 It is not political at all.
The video does appear political to anyone who doesn't speak Dutch, puts on the subtitles, translates the lyrics or reads a description about the song.
Yeah these guys are beyond stupid, lol. It's like right wing people make up stuff to be mad about but then.. different (but with the same vibe). Super cringe imo
@@han-oq6bo please explain?
@@jtb357 you seriously need me to tell you how people can perceive this as political? They have no idea what is being said and the eu flag is being waved around. Normally this wouldn't mean a thing to anyone but in light of Israel having 2 songs dqd fans are questioning it more.
The songs about him missing his dead dad😑
I'm sorry, but this is a very shallow commentary video. You guys completely missed the subtext, even watching with subtitles. The genius of this song is that it contains a whole deeper layer where he describes his loneliness and how he misses his father, who died when he was twelve. That's why the Stromae reference that flew over your head is in there ('Papoutai' - 'Papa where are you?'). You also mistook the breakdown as a reference to Two Unlimited when it was clearly a nod to 'gabber' music and culture (hardstyle). I've seen more than one commentary video who got all of that on a first listen.
Exactly, this is the first reaction-video where the people who commented did not get the song at all. And believe me, I have seen about 20 reaction-video's now ;-) I personally did not get the different layers in the first minute myself. But I loved all the 90's references and the clever song text. And then at the end, for me it all clicked and understood the many different layers in the song. And a political-layer was absolutely not one of them. That part says more about these guys than about Joost.
'I like good vocals and good production' ... yeah right, like NL hasn't sent just that the last couple of years. (Oké maybe not last year lol). But hey you just don't like us. Doesn't matter what we send. It is NOT a political song NEITHER a joke!! The story is about him being orphaned at a young age and feeling alone. He was even homeless at one point. He is feeling alone, no matter in which country he travels to. The burning of the picture is like burning his past and his pain of loosing his parents. By the way, those girls are not Japanese but they are Korean. It's a reference to K-pop.
You are getting old! 😂
we all do. all the time, actually
They have always been old-fashioned, since they made their first appearance on UA-cam. That's why I always take their opinion with heavy doses of salt.
The boomers are booming 😂 but seriously, I refuse to think it's something about "age", it must be more about being close minded, not trying to make an efford to understand and appreciate this song without being so snub soooo fast 😆... but it is their brand so I recommend not taking it so personally 🤷🏻♀ Honestly, this should be a drinking game by this time, like... every time Toy and Goy make an "extremely boomer comment": DRINK!🥂 🤣
Guys from the comments, I'm back! 🙋🏻♀Because I was determine with my opinion that "being old is not an excuse for this kind of reaction" I finally found an old italian guy (the video has different subtitles btw so anyone can watch it) and he's so respectful and even when this song is not his cup of tea he can appreciate some elements of the song. His channel is "Gianni Bravo Ska". I super recommend it, Love his reaction.
@dani.p yes! Make a drinking game of us!
It's NOT a joke song. This reaction is a joke. Before you react please get some information to you. Shame on you 2
I mean its a reaction video, its just their reaction..

@@Spyrobeamer ofcourse it is but they have their final meaning already after 10 secs. And if you know the backstory you have some respect for this artis of any other artists. And that is my opinion.
@@inezfeytons8896 I don't say that at all. I have respect for everyone. I said that about the video not over themselves. If you like it or not, please be gentle for anyone. Now Im gonna listen again the song of Joost. It is sooooo good!!!!!!!!!

Eurovision is an emotional affair for Joost. As a child, he watched it together with his parents. Unfortunately, his parents died when he was a child. This song is dedicated to his father. That's why it's called EUROPAPA. Joost loved his parents and still does. His lyrics are mostly very deep and witty (they sound a lot better in dutch btw), but the melody is happy, danceable and the clips of his song are presented in a fun way.
That does not suddenly validate the song. It is still a simplistic monotonous and crude offering.
@@alipanroosendaal9503Monotonous? It contains multiple hooks, at least seven different parts, and has a break paying homage to a marginalised and demonized subculture. It's a deceptive song, that hides it's layers..
@@rvds5003 All that means is that this is a musical mishmash collage with a lyric that includes a couple of virtue signalling references. That doesn't exactly put it on a par with Mulisch, Chekhov or Proust, or even Jeangu Macrooy.
@@alipanroosendaal9503 Jeangu Macrooy. 🤣
Dance is not my favourite genre, but I am objective enough to see this song is deceptively brilliant in its construction. And the video's a masterpiece.
Do you think this thing reached 4 million views for no reason?
@@rvds5003 If you believe that the video is a masterpiece, then how can I even go in further discussion with you? There is more maturity in a teletubbies sequence than that.
BTW - Views to not indicate quality. Millions watch all kinds of nonsense on UA-cam.
The song is about his dad, 'papa' in Dutch. He is telling his dad: I'm going to Europe Papa (Europapa). He lost his dad when he was 12 and his mom just 1 year later. His dad told him there are no limits and no borders. Joost told his parents as a kid when they where watching Eurovision together: I will be on Eurovision one day. And he made it! Going to Eurovision is a full circle moment for him. That's why he burns the house and family photo in the end, hoping to end the pain of missing them. The song is an ode to his dad, not political in any way.
Get the information before you react, you look like a couple of karen's/ken's complaining about things they dont understand 😂
The way they work, if you took the time to notice, is to go in blind and give the kind of response many will on the night watching it for the first time. If you want a different kind of review go find another channel instead of complaining about this one.
There are SO many references in this song, and they missed em all. They didnt get a single one. Its pathetic.@@alipanroosendaal9503
@@alipanroosendaal9503 Yes they go in blind, blind to anything that is not what they wanted to see. These two guys are crazily biased, at least kudos to them being aware of their blind spot. "People will love it", they said. And yes, people love it. It is not a joke entry, unlike they made themselves one with this reaction.
@@southoceann People like you amaze me. You are asking them to suddenly be something they are not, and have never claimed to be. Yes, they are biased to certain types of music, but we know that in advance. We watch because we like them and their channel. If you want the songs disected by experts, and studious types, then go elsewhere. Don't come on here telling us they should be something they never have claimed to be - Anyway, ask yourself this: If they had loved Joost's song would you be complaining about their style? No, you wouldn't, and you know it, because ultimately you just want everyone to affirm what you prefer. Well, life ain't like that.
@@alipanroosendaal9503 LOL Im sorry, you are standing up for them for expressing their feelings, so why can't we express ours then? And no, other reactions that fairly criticize the song are still loved by fans, because they are FAIR. That's the problem, these guys classified the song as a joke after 10 seconds, then proceed to only find evidence to support their initial impression (Japanese outfit), watching the entry with an obvious expression of disgust. Does the entry deserve that? I see that every year and it never changes, and I wouldn't bother until they trash talk about an entry in an overly unfair manner like in this one.
TLDR; it's a joke to draw conclusion right from the beginning, why torture yourself to the end at all?
No apologies needed! As a Dutchie I can say this is a serious part of Dutch culture so Im so happy that happy hardcore gets its place in Eurovision. This track will totally explode on stage and thats what its supposed to do. I predict televote winner in semi 2 and top 5 in the final and a serious contender for the trophy

This is worse than the absolute joke Finland sent.
Here's the final top 5:

"Maybe I'm old, maybe I'm not fun. But I'd like to believe I'm not the only one."

When Joost was asked what song they should listen to in order to understand you. He answered Florida 2009 (it's about his parents) and Wachtmuziek (it's about mental health). I recommend listening to them. You have to translate it, because he sings in Dutch.
Avrupa da en çok yaşamak istediğim ülke. ❤
It is indeed reminiscent of No Limit, because it's supposed to be. 2 Unlimited is a Dutch/Belgian group and that type of music was massive in THE Netherlands. It's a throwback to that era and the music, It's not simply made to sound like the "old music", but the happy hardcore bit at the end was produced by the biggest DJ of that genre: Paul Elstak. It's a genre that originated in The Netherlands. Not only that, this type of dance music was massively popular throughout Europe. It's Dutch and our shared European heritage in a way. :) I mean, there's a lot to appreciate here if you keep an open mind ;)
You completely missed the message of the song. He wrote the song for his dead dad. Also it would have helped if you didn't pause the video every 10 seconds cause you lose the flow. But it's understandable those songs are not for everyone.
Agreed, they completely missed the message of the song.
They actually always complain about Dutch entries 😂 it’s like they make it into a sport and can’t say anything positive about it. Like, who cares about the Japanese school girls? Listen to the music or maybe look up the meaning behind it.
They just have a deeply rooted hate for Dutch music or the Netherlands in general or something?
I don’t know what it is but nothing positive ever comes out of their mouth.

First of all : Oh myyyy i love love loveee this , its so amazingly weird its totally crazy its totally party ❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Second : You did not understand the message of the song its not political at all . Joost lost his parents when he was young , and that explains the last part of the song with the burning house , throughout the song you can hear Joost's struggle after losing his parents , so basicly this song is a tribute to his parents and especially for his dad , if you had looked until the very end you would have read that the song is dedicated to his parents .
Third : the song was composed by the well known dutch dj Paul Estak who had a huge hit with rainbow in the sky in the 90's .
I just love the song , but had to admit that i was quite taken aback when the song was released , but the more i listened to it , the more i feeled like dancing and moving , its an awesome song with a touch of humor and i love it ❤❤❤❤❤
And i do hope that Lubach will be an anual tradition because this was so so fun especially the movie before the reveal , it was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's not a joke song. Its an ode to his parents, and its shows a lot of dutch culture and music, like happy hardcore and even a bit gabber. Its quite the hit in the Netherlands right now.
In English, it's the Netherlands (plural because it's from "The kingdom of the Netherlands", which is shortened). So the "the" should be there :)
I don't treat this song as a joke entry, more like a fun entry. And even witj the subtitels I didn't get the message. I found out what the song is about reading the comments. But still it's an enjoyable songd which make me smile.
Of course you are entitled to your opinion as everybody is. However, it’s remarkable that you missed the message completely, even with the subtitles. The song is happy (as a reference to Dutch happy hardcore and even a reference to the dutch-belgian act 2 unlimited) but the message is sad. He even quotes Stromae with HIS song about losing his father. You claimed to listen with an open mind, but failed to do just that. That doesn’t mean you have to enjoy the song, but one might expect a little more depth in a review. Kind regards, Julien
This song is a tribute to his father / Parents and no political agenda. His dad passed away when he was 12, his mother passed away 1 year later. Europa in Dutch means Europe. Papa means dad. His dad once told him the world has no borders (Borders are a man made concept) or limitations (Many people create their own limitations in their own mind).
After his parents dead, . no matter where on earth he was (Germany, Italy), whatever food he would eat (Escargots in France, Fish and chips in UK, Paella in Spain), he still carries this pain with him. In the end nobody but himself could deal with this pain and he himself must find peace with his losses. Only going through the grief and finding inner peace would put a end to this suffering. This song tells the story of him as an orphan trying to do exactly that.
The line with Stromae / papaoute (which Translates to: Dad where are you), is followed with the words about how he wants his parents to be proud of him. He used to watch Eurovision with his parents and he told them one day he would be there performing. Which is what he is doing now.
The burning at the end is his way of (trying to) say goodbye to the burning pain of loosing his parents. Joost said about this: sometimes you have to let go of the things that are most precious to you. Where one door closes, many opportunities present itself. Mum and Dad, you will always be there for me, but I can't carry this pain forever.
So it's not political Please watch and listen first without talking true it. You really missed the clue.
Honestly, I watched this reaction knowing what to expect so I'm not mad because this reaction was very... on brand.
But I looove this song. It took me by surprise the 1st time, but I appreciate soooo much that The Netherlands is doing something different and NOT BORING and CHEESY. Love it!

You totally dont get the massage of the song. Maybe You should read first something When You react to something… You think it has a POLITICAL MESSAGE ? Thats crazy. And You just dont like The dutch songs in general… just admit that. Luckily You wont pick The winner of eurovision. Besides that Joost has at least a deeper meaning with different layers… finland and croatia dont. Anyway this song is typically Dutch and I am proud of that. 🇳🇱
It's funny how you are being ignorant when it comes to deeper meaning of mentioned countries' songs while accusing them for the same.
Dutch people are always mean when somebody doest like their songs … wake up
So, if someone has a contrary opinion to yours, then they are crazy. That shows a fine level of emotional maturity. Well done.
Although I don't share your opinion about the song, I do love the fact that you picked up the very similar 2 unlimited sample at 12:00! Great ear and call back to 'There's no limit' by 2 Unlimited, a Dutch/Belgian music group who were artists that helped popularize the then-upcoming (happy) hardcore/Eurodance/gabber scene, which originated in the Netherlands. The bald dude in the car is actually DJ Paul Elstak, who is a legendary Hardcore producer from the Netherlands who specifically produced the Happy Hardcore part for this song. So that specific sample and the song as a whole are a nod to the influence the Dutch music scene has had on the industry from then till now.
Love ❤this song. Its getting better every day. 22 points for The Netherlands. ❤❤❤
Im Australian and i love this song. I think its an important song. And i hope his passed parents are proud of him. ❤
The song's about him missing his dead parents even as he travels. The outro is a dedication to his dad 😑
General advise. Don’t pause the songs so often cause you are losing the vibe and the flow of each song. Enjoy the journey and comment in the end ! From a 2 years subscriber ❤

This is not a joke song. And the production is top notch.
What is with all these 90s Songs This year? I thought i was over it 30 years ago😂😂😂
The song is a dedication to his parents who died when he was only 12, his father didn't believe in boarders and loved a more united Europe.
I personally don't see a political message but I can understand how some may feel this way, especially when others keep getting banned for their song or lyrics. I felt that way about Croatia last year. As much as I love Let 3 it was very hypocritical they were allowed to sing about Putin but Georgia got banned for the same topic.
it's about how he transforms in life from his youth to where he is now... and certainly a 90's vibe... that's where he grew up... personally I think it's a smart move for him to bring Europe into his completely involved... it's completely different from a normal Eurovision song... this song has fun in it and also weaves in serious subject matter... but not everyone likes it and that's okay. ...but don't criticize something before you know the background of the song.....all in all a balanced song and that makes me proud to be Dutch....
it is THE Netherlands
The message is that Europe once again is setting itself in autodestruction mode
I really really want to like this song but I just can’t, I think I even prefer Finland over this but it looks like it has a quite a big followers and the Dutch are happy with their entry so that’s not a bad thing on my books, good luck Joost
As an Afrikaans speaking South African, married to a Flemish speaking Belgian, I really appreciate the lyrical excellence of this song , but can also totally understand the confusion of non-Dutch speakers. The visuals don't really match the lyrical content but herein lies the genius. It's irony, putting on a smile through the pain, dancing your troubles away. Perhaps that's a very Dutch thing? We do the same in South Africa, when things are really bad, we make a joke out of it and laugh at ourselves. Personally I'm not a fan of Euro Dance, but I can appreciate the history of its origins and I think he did an excellent job of representing the genre, the country and Europe whilst also relating all of this to his personal journey. Not a personal favourite but definitely not a junk joke entry without any merit.
Now this is what I call a good analysis. Maybe you should start a reaction channel!
I knew you would not get it, i'm sorry for that. But I still value your opinion. Keep up the good work!

Its not a joke song at all. Nor political.
A song about Europe in EUROvision, I guess it's so political to sing about the place where the contest is from...

The end... The burning. Europe is on fire. But also: burning down memories (his parents died when he was young) and move on. So many messages. You're the FIRST reaction video of dozens I watched, that's not feeling it. And therefore I thank you guys! 😜💪🏻 I love a different opinion. ❤️
You two are brutal. I like your honesty. It's a homage to dutch culture which is better understood in Europe then in Great Britain I guess. The song is very reliant on live performance. I myself am not it's biggest fan but I don't dislike it either. I'm amazed at how much views it has gotten already?! Keep up the good work boys I love your channel.
Oooh, thank you so much! Just here to be ourselves, not trying to please anyone, and if you enjoy our silliness then you are always welcome! 😘
Dont call it a joke, its not. If you think it s a joke you don’t get it at all
Fair enough, it’s not a typical song. People will either love it or hate it. :)
All of you hear only Europa. But in the Netherlands we hear Euro-(papa) between brackets meens 'Dad'
The hole song is made for his parents.
Great song.
Its the winner this year.❤
It was almost painful to see your reaction and I'm not even a fan of this song. For starters, the flag is the European flag, which is used ALSO used by the EU. That flag is not political outside of the minds of Brits who don't know their ass from their front. Just looking at the lyrics it takes people in Africa 2 lines there's something off with the jokey text, that isn't jokey at all, but about someone who lost everything and desperately looks for himself. Not even paid help is doing anything for him. And then after the happy hardcore (indeed ALSO known from 2 unlimited), the happy mask is ripped off. It was indeed from the beginning about loss. For those interested, the picture burning in the end is of a boy whose parents are burned off already. Pretty much like Joost losing both his parents at a very young age. The burning building is depicting his sudden loss of family and home.
What's really offensive about your reaction is that you had the subtitles on, but were just so lost in your prejudice that you couldn't get anything that was broadcasted at an excessively loud volume. It should not really surprise me though that your reaction was of such a low quality; it was about as bad we've gotten used to from you.
Nothing wrong with you guys disliking a song. Music is subjective. Ignore all the hate comments. But the song is not political at all haha. But I definitely get why you guys would think that.
There is nothing wrong with disliking a song, but there is something wrong with completely missing the subtext of a song. A subtext that isn't even hidden very deeply. They were watching with subtitles and still missed multiple references to loneliness and him missing his father. That's just bad and shallow commenting.
It's is also definitely not a bad ' keyboard' production. They are just being disrespectful and it's sad. If they don't like it, just say you don't like it. They shouldn't talk quality if they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
Thank you! We love each and every comment!
I'm sorry, but your comments upset me. If you don't like a song or music style, that is absolutely fine. But insulting the producers, saying the (musical) production value is low, is highly unfair and unnecessary. (I strongly dislike U2, but I acknowledge their talent).
Calling it a joke song is not fair (or true) either, it's actually a very layered and clever song.
I have seen plenty of reaction videos where the commenters really listened and understood the message without knowing the language or using subtitles. You guys definitely dropped the ball there. It's performative art, meant to make you think and even feel confused (I've seen people go from happy to crying at the end).
I think the lesson is you should never judge a book by its' cover and put a little more effort into trying to understand something in stead of being dismissive from the get go (there was some clear bias happening there).
Your surely can acknowledge at least that?

I'm sure there are many reactors who do research and learn everything there is to know abut a song and artist, but that's not how we work! We like to come to the reactions as clean as possible, to give our very first response, which is what the majority of people on who watch the ESC shows on the nights do. No one sits at home with a research book studying before each act, we are just here to enjoy the songs as we want to, and if you want to join us, you are more than welcome!@@eevskih8684
Just watched 2 bitter old men review a great song
many of the lyrics refer to psychological trauma ("I've lost everything except time", "I am in Germany, but I am also alone; Io sono in Italia, but it still hurts", "'I'm running from myself, crying for help all day long, Yes, I even give people money, but there is no one to help me"; this last line literally speaks about his pretty tough experience with professional help-care, a theme he has made more songs on).
Off course it 'sounds' just like a simple party-song, but that's a part of the story... his trauma occured when he was just twelve and not able to cope : The idea of 'partying' is part of the reaction to one's pain... The ending also refer to the need to confront one's pain, and feel accepted
I went back to your video to comment after watching almost everything I could find in reaction to this eurovison entry. I have to give you guys 12 points in completely missing everything there is to the music and video.
Thank you!
Gentlepeople, You guys should really investigate the background of this song to understand it better. Its not silly old music, its the actual nostalgic 'gabber' music from the netherlands, and the actual lyrics tell such a deeper story then you assume in the movie.
Can i just suggest, read the actual lyrics explanation on the eurovision page and read the lyrics, the is more then meets the eyes.
And to emphasize, this is not joke music, this is actual crazilly populair music in the Netherlands, we are the home country where this kind of 'happy hardcore' kind of music was born from.
and besides that... you gotta give credit to the production of this video, it gives such a inclusive and nice vibe right! Imagine this on stage!
So I politely dissagree with your analysis :)
Thank you, but we always try to avoid looking into songs when we react so we can just have a genuine first time hearing response, like the majority of people who watch the shows on the nights!
It's so interesting to get your fresh reaction, not knowing the background. It may reflect the reaction of the general public on the night, but I think there's enough online buzz and it's fun enough to qualify at least. I knew what it was about before listening so that, along with the title, made me think of Papaoutai the whole time and it felt profound. A sad topic in a cheerful package is one of my favorite kinds of songs.
Thank you!
There are so many fun songs this year that you are happy with any song that has a structure and an idea. Yes, you can use humor to show serious topics, but that's not it. Finland last year had a good example, but many artists did not understand correctly what the quality of this song was.
The best thing about this video is the comment section 😎
Indeed!
"Just want people who can sing and with good music production" and continues to listen on laptop speakers.... Just widen youir world, guys, and listen to it three times. On the other hand, the fact that you can just sit still while listening to the catchy tunes (except during the Paul Elstak part), says it all.
How could we do a reaction if we've listened to it three times? These are our first thoughts an opinions!
You can see Joost in the official video Florida 2009, he is a joke but he also sings serious songs🙂
I deliberatelly watched your reaction because i knew you will not like it as most of your reactions.
Btw, how is eu flag in EUROvision political?
Hope you enjoyed! 😘
I am with you guys, this song is also not for me. Best of luck to the Netherlands of course though :). Thanks for all the videos and all your work Toy, it's so much appreciated! Love from another veteran here haha ❤
After Ducan Laurence, Joost Klein is our new nr 1 for The Netherlands🇪🇺🇳🇱🥳, greetz from Amsterdam!!!
Sorry guys, you totally missed the point, it is one of the most heart-breaking songs ever that entered Eurovision, although disguised as a happy hard-core song. Learn Dutch or translate the song text to English and then read between the lines, you'll maybe see then what Joost Klein wanted you to see.
Congratulations guys, this is by far the worst, misdirected, clueless reaction video I have ever seen (and you had subs on, for crying out loud). Why are you so incredibly sour, bitter and negative? This is NOT a joke song, NOT political and NOT empty: there is actually so much to do this, but you need to invest two seconds of your precious time to learn and understand. If not, enjoy your fish and chips!
P.S. Did you know that the music at the end originates from THE Netherlands and that "(There's) No Limit" is from a Dutch group called 2Unlimited? (Hence the reference to the good times) Oh no, I hoped you would but of course you didn't 🤦♂️
Another title for us!
T&G; Joost is an artist en could probably be the winner 2024 ❤❤❤
Appena ho ascoltato questa canzone me ne sono innamorata doveva vincere, anche in Italiano si dice papà
This song is a thribute to Europe, all the techno scene from the 90s and 20s and alos most importantly a thribute to his parents
Haha I have seen tens of reaction videos and have missed the point by the biggest margin 😂
This is the style of Joost Klein and it is leaned on a typical netherlands techno style called hardstyle. I find it brave of Joost to choose this style, because it is normaly a verry rhythem orientated hard techno style. So I think he made it softer, so that more people will accept and like it. Because he made it softer, it seems like a joke entry and style of Joost Klein doesn't help here, but it isn't. I hope they will go over it once again and make it more hardstyle, so that it is more clear for anybody that this is a typical dancefloor song in the netherlands. And yes the netherlands people love to laugh. They are open minded and verry friendly to anyone. So Joost Klein style represents that. But yes: You can misunderstand it.
Norway is my fav this year! But NL's song is good! I like it!
I like it more than the songs from Croatia and Finland.
Croatia is much better than this
I dont wont be unite with this guy... 😜😎
I love you two so much even if i dont always agree in your opinion
not for everybody but its fun , not everybodies cup of tea, will it do better than Olly?
Why do you make reactions to songs if you don’t understand the lyrics? Is it too difficult to find a translation? Every time the song has a meaning you fail to get it. Shame on you!
We make reactions as we enjoy doing it!
Traveling through Europe to try to fill the emptiness after both his parents died...
I feel you guys. I was like "this is so bad, I am so confused" 😂😂
“Papa” means “dad”. The song Euro-papa is a tribute to his late father who died when Joost was 12. In the year thereafter his mom died as well. I understand your misinterpretations. But please please read the explanations in the reactions and then listen to it again with the subtitles on. The song is a piece of art actually. It has many layers and is anything but a jokey void. It’s a banger of a hit-song in the Netherlands already.
Of all the 100 or so reaction videos I saw yours was surely the only one negative, so kudo's for being unique at least :). I agree the vocals are not good in a vocally way, but the song has humor and the lyrics are also smart in a way. You guys are pro at nagging, but I respect your opinion!
Not trying to be unique, just being ourselves!
I get your first reaction about the political message in this song, however, I would suggest to take a step back and remember what Eurovision was and still is - it was created after WWII to unify Europe, even the name has Euro in it, thus personally I see this very much pro-Europe song as a reminder to stay united in support each other and our neighbours in these tough times 🌟
I’ve read that that story about Eurovision being created to unite Europe is not true.
@@warb635 even if it wasn’t the original purpose, it manage to do that :) this friendly competition should unite people, not separate and urge people to attack each other for being and thinking differently (which, sadly, sometimes is the case)
Why do you want them to research the songs prior?
It's THE FIRST REACTION we want. That's the most genuine, that is the one that counts.
The vast majority of people will watch the Final only and see the artists for the first time. No translation of the lyrics, no deeper backstory.
I respect the fact that you support your country and believe it will do well, but Spain felt the same way last year and it flopped, and they're pumped up this year again because the message is so great(it is, BUT the average viewer won't understand that the first time watching it).
I predict Spain will not be in the top 15 and if Netherlands actually qualifies, not even top 20.
😘
So sad that EBU disqualified Joost, he was my favourite and I like him so much
So, we definitely know who isn't going to vote for Joost this year.
12 points for Joost, zero points for Toy and Goy
