it's not automatic if you have to manually harvest it haha. But he could make a stacked automatic villager beetroot farm next to it!
It's not effective but if you don't have any other skeleton spawner, mob grinder or wither farm... well, I guess it might do.
(You would get more stacks by hunting with Looting III)

Beetroot is the greatest food source ever. I carry a full inventory of the soup whenever I go adventuring. It’s so convenient!!

I was wondering why Wattles didn't just stack a chest on a hopper on a composter on a hopper on a double chest and move on with his beetroot life. Never disappoints though. The best beetroot farm EVER!

Wattles, my dude. Put a hopper on top of the composter and a hoper chest next to it and it will make bonemeal for you. The point's moot now, but it does work. So now, it's not a beetroot farm, it's a bonemeal farm

For some reason, I feel inspired to outdo this with at least 65,536 beetroots. Either semi-auto (with water dispensers at the back) or full auto (with boatloads of villagers...or should I say...beetloads?)

Genuinely I like making beetroot farms. Not for a food source, but more for decoration. The red and green look of the crop looks great in a lot of contexts. Pair that with a netherwart farm and both the reds compliment each other.
You should definitely do this for every crop, including nether wart. ;)

I'd do something like getting villagers there, farmers and a minecart with hopper under the farm. It will be automatic bone meal farm (1. beetroot, 2. bone meal)
I envision an army of villager slaves - toiling in a vast underground dungeon, sweating among the fire and forage of industry - mining for precious gems and metals.
Fueled by the masters enormous beetroot empire.

add wood slabs in the water and near any edge then expand it so its had the same amount of beetroot. This will allow u to walk everywhere without needing to jump. Jumping could make you need to replant the beetroot.
I use stairs instead because i hate myself.

Okay, so I finally actually got to watch the episode. I saw my Twitter in your video! Yay! As for how to use the beetroot, you can create a few auto bonemeal makers to the outskirts.
Awesome job! Now build an underground collection system that filters out the beets and feeds them into a composter when dropped on the ground and filters the seeds into chests to be replanted 😃

This was an incredible amount of work for an April Fools Day "prank.' It was hilarious because I suspect that this is the "farm" project you talked about on Twitter starting after you did the kelp farm. But at least you'll have plenty of red dye, roasted beetroot food, and beets to turn into bonemeal! Hopefully, you'll find enough villagers who want beetroot in exchange for emeralds (that can be used to trade for mending books.)

Could always make pathways throughout and place villager farmhouses. Use stone walls n slabs (as fallen over stone walls) like old style farm country you’d find in regional England areas

i never understood beetroot hate, beetroot is good for trading farmer villagers (lowest of the crops), if you have an auto crop farm you set up a composter with hopper and chest and collect bonemeal, and if you have a shepherd with a red dye trade (to get rid of your iron farm poppies) thats another source of emeralds.

you can use beetroot as a crop to sell to villagers! you could have a massive legion of farmer villagers harvesting the field, as well as trading for beetroot for emeralds. it would add on to the pure insanity of this project

I outdid you.
After months of hard work in Survival, I dug out a 200x200 area to create an artificial superflat area. I flattened mountains and hills, I destroyed countless trees ranging from small oaks to mega spruces, I filled in parts of caves, and I made terraced borders on the outside of it all. I placed waterlogged slabs in appropriate places and lanterns on top of them.
Wattles you need to build a big port area for storage and to keep your boat sort in the area you always come into from exploring

Hi wattles, I've been watching your content for years and I love it all. On my bedrock world...its a bit unbelievable: literally 8 ocean monuments in the same ocean, stronghold somewhat close by, kinda close nether fortresse, too many shipwrecks and ruins and villages, a coral reef biome and to top it off...a GIGANTIC cave system right under where I made my base. Oh and a close skeleton spawner in a cave. It's pure survival world and if anyone wants the world seed then I'll give the coordinates for it and everything I've found so far. 🙂
I find making giant fields of crops in Minecraft relaxing. If the game had more crops I would have fields everywhere.

It will get kinda expensive but you should fence it in and place composter over water hole then place 20+ villagers in there, then make it automatic somehow with villagers around the perimeter to gather... make it feel alive possibly add bees!!!
