      Just for the record, the tank leg firing stance thing didn't require you to be charging a back weapon - it also worked when using hard lock.

    9:34 the projectile speed of the plasma rifle was buffed. Still slower than most laser weapons, but much more usable in pvp.

    One thing to note, the handheld pulse missile launchers are not affected by Energy Firearm Specialization.

      I tested them out, they don’t. They’re pulse weapons like the bubble guns, so while they work at depleting pulse shields they won’t benefit from the energy specialization, that’d start to get a little too ridiculous.

    A lil bit of bonus info you might not have noticed
    The Ludlows and Shao-Wei have nearly identical combined uptime and downtime. It takes several magazines worth of constant firing to even notice the slight difference.
    This information should be used for evil

    Hi, I believe the PFAU is in fact a word rather than an abbreviation like you pronounced it. Pfau is yet another German bird name like many other parts and weapons :)

    Now that the three tetrapods have separate hover speeds, I wish they listed them on the legs themselves like how tank legs have their High Speed Performance stat. It'd just be nice.
    As an aside about the "fixed bug causing unintended tracking while charging back weapons," that bug affected _every_ melee weapon! It was certainly quite something to see a Laser Lance user spin 180 degrees while winding up their charge, or watching the Pulse Sword spin around at the end of their lunge when you tried to dodge through them.

      omg now I want to see clips of the pile bunker used that way (or would it only affect the uncharged hit? the charged one doesn't have a lunge, does it?)

      @@cridus_ it only worked on charge attacks, so the Pile Bunker was unaffected! It already pivots before its charged attack anyways.

    The lammergeiger arms are actually really nice if you want to use kinetic weapons on a lightweight. One of the biggest issues across the board for kinetic weapons is their recoil, and the new arms deal with it very well. Try them with the curtis linear rifle, they can do the full rapid fire without losing accuracy and thier low weight means you can fit it on a light build to more effectively kite enemies.

      As much as I generally agree, I wish there was some way to concede because I feel that going afk is the best option to end a match I have no chance in quickly. I’m talking about going up against “keep away” builds which with many of my favourite builds I just have no counter against (especially with the new tetrapod legs). I am a pretty casual player and am quite fine losing games in mid C, so I would be happy to concede as inevitably you will encounter builds that beat yours. And tbh I have a hard time seeing going AFK as bad manners because this is as far as I can tell essentially what they wanted to happen anyway, shooting from far away with no retaliation.

      @@luminousazure that’s good too, I have a couple times purge and gone punchout to hand a guy a win because I thought his build was creative (I’d also love a commend creative build button). If they purge their weapons too I know they got it.

    One thing that a lot of people still tend to underestimate is how useful the shields are in this game. Because of current PVP meta favoring burst damage - aka doing as much as you can in as little time as possible - the shields are very good at blocking much of the front loaded damage while also minimizing the stability damage taken as well. Many heavy weights in high level PvP runs shields like the VP-61PS (best overall shield) or the SI-24: SU-Q5 (lighter with better energy economy, and can be used 7 times continuously before overheating compared to the former choice’s six times), and the Coral Shield will likely continue to see use because of its 360 degree coverage making it good for tanks and tetrapods.
    One of the notable tourney organizers, Striker Hutassa, did a video on them recently, which I found pretty interesting.

    The lag switching made me uininstall the game. The higher I got in ranked the more common it was.
    The matches that pushed me over the edge were a series of matches against the same person. 9/10 of my foe's zimmerman shots sail right past me on my screen as I read the zimmerman's movements, yet I always took damage. No matter how I dodged, no matter how I tried to adjust.

      hopefully you reported them. they surely ban people if they receive enough reports, otherwise they wouldn't have implemented the report system.

      This, I've stopped after I was getting hit by a dude flying above me just whiffing shots the entire match and yet I was losing health the whole time. I watched everything he shot and not a single thing hit me, I was so focused on dodging that when I heard "AP at 50%" I just purged my weapons and sat there the rest of the match and haven't been back since. I might just do casual pvp only instead, it's fun af when people actually want to have fun and fight another player, not just stroke their nonexistent e-peen.

    The Gatling Canon just needs a bullet projectile speed buff. Even while tapping the weapon and not causing it to overheat, even middleweight to heavier ACs seem to be able to dodge it as long as they meet a certain thrust speed requirement

    4:02 So far, the only thing I really like about the attache is it's flavor text, and the attention to detail they put on the visuals LOL. It's a very cute weapon. But, as far as using it? I completely agree. It was very underwhelming.

    i've been using the new laser cannon on the lammergeier legs with dual ludlows, and even with it's short range, it really pops off against long range focused builds

    With a game as complex as AC, perfect balance is simply impossible. So for the players that just want to test pure piloting skill, I'd like to see Fromsoft introduce a new game mode: Mirror Ranked.
    Both players fight using the same AC randomly picked from a pool of 5 builds. The list of ACs changes every week to keep things fresh. The builds can be made by the devs or even just taken from the presets that already exist. Watching 2 great pilots duke it out Steel Haze vs Steel Haze would be awesome to watch.

    ... I really wish they had not turned stats like muzzle velocity hidden from the previous Armored Core. It makes it difficult to discern the differences with the bare eye especially if some of the speed changes are more miniscule

    A good note for the arms, they have a very high melee specialization. Aside from the basho, there are only 2 arms with a higher stat. And each only succeeds the previous by one

    @chrightt i heard the pulseblade charged attack lost the ministun.... It seems that way in a video i saw this evening. Did this shadow nerf get missed in the video? If so, this seems a devestating nerf as melee thrusting will now guarantee a losing trqde if you dont trigger acs on the slash given youre left wide open.

    Just to put things into perspective, the vertical plasma missiles original tracking stop was at 18m with an AIRBURST. They're were awesome. At 32m they're kinda of poopy. The NORMAL vertical missiles, with NO air burst, stop tracking at 45m!!! EXTRA poopy.
    This is why even slow ACs can just move normally and the missiles will never hit them. From my testing, even the tester AC can just move out of the way of normal vert missile at 12m of stop tracking....

    Excellent breakdown like always, helps me get back into the game after getting platinum on it for a more pvp focus.
    One thing i would like to know is how you tested the 4 Gatling gun build with heavy legs.

      Honestly, the handheld “heavy” gats are still kinda impractical for PVP other than looking intimidating, or if you just wanna run a fun Dakka build courtesy of Warhammer 40k. The bullet spread starts to go wild fast unless your arms are rocking very high recoil control, but even then the impact/damage you could be dealing with dual Zimmermans or Vientos are faster with much lighter parts to boot.
      Even on heavy weights the Vientos are still just too good to not run unless you still favor Zimmermans, I’m kinda surprised From Software didn’t nerf the former yet.

    I am really happy for all of the things FS brought up but if I can say something, it'd be to ask for a big buff for assault rifles because they really are underwhelming and absolutely non-existent when other options like the Ransetsu RF or others exist.
    I just want my jack-of-all trades dual AR builds from previous games back...
    And the co-op multiplayer is an excellent idea, it'd be amazing.

    Not sure if you've already planned a video or previously covered this topic, but could you do at least a short segment of what weapons are/are not affected by energy weapon specialization? I've seen you mention a couple (such as the laser drones), but what about the laser orbit? The laser turrets? LCS? LCB???? WE NEED TO KNOW!!!. Lmao all subconscious existentialism aside, I'd love more info on laser weapon specialization.

      Just look at my energy firearm video. Anything not on there (exluding the Aurora which got added and the LCB new cannon) are non-energy weapons.

    I personally really like the attache's when pairing them with two huxleys. I could be giving them too much credit because new and shiny, but it looks to me like all aforementioned weapons have their uses and benefits over the others. I feel like it comes down to AC type and what complimentary weapons you use with them to determine the best choice.
    What I notice with ludlow, chang-chen and ransetsu when comparing them against even just the tester ac is that the fire rate is too high and/or the clip is too small. Causing you to potentially waste a lot of shots when an enemy dodges and/or be stuck reloading at the wrong times more often. Attache is in a sort of 'sweet spot' with a clip of 40, a fire rate of 5 and higher per-shot damage and impact. Where it applies near-constant pressure while also dealing decent damage and building stagger consistently without having to reload too often. Even if on paper it loses out by a little compared to the other ones mentioned. Those stats can't account for wasted bullets or losing out on your punish window more often.
    On some builds I _would_ probably go with 2x ludlow or chang-chen and then bring a melee weapon for punish with a laser drone or huxley for the misc slot, but in that case I would likely default back to my double zimmers since I like those way more for the purpose of such a setup. So before attache I honestly steered clear of most kinetic weaponry, save for shotguns. I feel that at least for ranged pressure attache certainly has it's uses and can outperform the other rifles and machine guns in terms of overall consistency. But yeah for it's weight and energy cost it could definitely bear to have a little more oompf, so if you're saying it could use a buff I won't complain hehehe. (^_^)

      Yes, this is what I mean by Attache offers you nothing more. Even with smaller clip sizes the other weapons are unloading their DPS faster. This is more favorable. A larger clip size means that it is less likely to mess up, but it also means it offers you nothing for playing well (like making sure your clip is up before the punish) since other weapons do more damage when properly prepared.

      I have to agree with Chrightt on this, the attaché is a jack-of-all-trades weapon that simply doesn’t have a niche it exceeds in. Rifles like the Ransetsu-RF out range it, lighter machine guns like the Ludlow unleash their dps much quicker at a lighter cost both weight and EN load wise, and handguns like the Viento deal far more damage more quickly as long as you keep the distance close. Furthermore, you can’t expect to always being hitting the enemy 24/7, which means the slower but more consistent Attaché won’t shine in terms of dealing the quickest amount of damage in the shortest time frames, whereas the popular meta weapons like the Vientos and Zimmerman shotguns can.
      Simply put, this game favors a rock-paper-scissors approach in how you build your ACs, so weapons like the Turner, Scudder and Attaché that try to do everything at once are simply too flat in usefulness other than maybe in PVE. It would help if From Software gave them more specialized roles so that they could become more powerful in some areas and given counter-play in others to balance them out.

      @@ZeroFanfare There’s still the weight and EN loads that you have to consider between the weapons, which means the Attaché could simply not even work for a light weight AC who has to put consideration into their weapons though. And I did my own tests between Ludlow and the Attaché. The Ludlow could deal about 1110 on the Test AC in 3.69 seconds, whereas the Attaché did a little over that damage in 4.69 (remember their individual bullets don’t deal the same damage, so I kept it as close as possible). Even assuming for human error on my part with the stop watch, I’d give the Ludlow a half second advantage in the damage it dealt within its time frame of a single magazine emptying itself out, whereas the Attaché was slightly slower and weights double the weight of the Ludlow with more than triple the EN Load.
      Using the numbers you pulled it would seem as if the Attaché would be ok in the long run, but it still takes a considerable amount of time to fire all those bullets that would only have a slight numbers edge against the (lighter with far less EN load) Ludlow and Chang Chen. Compare this to double Zimmermans who lands the shots will have likely staggered you by then, or double Vientos (which honestly needs a nerf in the future, not sure why From Software didn’t do this), or, well you get the idea. The Attaché simply does not have the same speed and you’re likely to miss a considerable amount of those bullets against a competent opponent in PVP. Simply put, the Attaché is trying to be a jack of all trades weapon with heavy weight/EN load costs, so it will lose to many weapons that have more specialized roles or are much easier to equip to a light weight AC.

    I have had a different experience with the attache, i find that the Attache hits way more often when engaging in actual compat, and pn slower mechs it preforms better than the ludlov. But thats just me.

    Another great break down! I'm getting my ass handed to me in Ranked PvP, so I need all the help I can get haha. Though it does seem like every part counts. Numerous times I've won by a tiny sliver of AP, and if I didn't consult Chrightt's guides for the best stat dense parts, I would have lost.

    So in a niche case through AC Test. A Turner + Scudder can almost guarantee consistency in mid range stunning if you use truenos. It is a very slow play style and gets beaten down by burst. But for a 1:00 a.m. build that doesn't need to think, the rifles do have niche cases in matchups where longevity is key

      @@taylordiclemente5163 not me specifically just talking about what I have seen in a rank and higher. If someone is running basic rifles they are usually accompanied by missiles that are strong in the neutral.
      Treunos is a common pick for consistent punish with rifles due to their range and how they can be fired at an enemy who's standing still or is stunned.
      This is the very first armored core game that ever had a stun mechanic this blatant. Players who are not reliant on using that's then to beat you, don't need to use treunos to punish you. They'll just beat you and not take a bunch of damage.

      @@OugiEin I like truenos with rifles too, and I use them to punish. But, rifles need to be stronger for midrange kiting builds to be more competitive. They were very strong in Silent Line and For Answer.

    Man I get work in with the plasma rifle a nebula with a good pair of reverse joints I don't know why people haven't figured out that with hard lock you get a guaranteed charge hit when used in tandem with the nebula.

    Hey chrightt I have a weird question about the patch. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's just the turner buffs, but Nightfall Raven seems way stronger all of the suddenly. Also, in the mission defend the damn it also feels like King and Chartreuse go in to cover for one another a lot sooner.
    Is it even possible to check if AI behavior was altered?

      It is possible that NPC behavior is altered, but these aren't labelled directly in the regulation files so I would have no way to know the specifics.

    How exactly does lag switching benefiting the lag switcher? Doesn’t that just make them have more ping so they suffer more? First heard the term in Elden Ring and not sure what it does.

    I am done with this game's PvP, been here since day one and it's just not fun most of the time. The co-op modes/missions would be a nice touch, something I was wanting to play with my mates.

      Agreed. Pvp is a shadow of what it once was, due to hard and soft lock, decoupling of movement from camera, firing stances and cued attacks, and the stagger mechanic. This is all due to the bringing in of a new director who was unfamiliar with the nuances of classic pvp.

    Sorry I comment so much, but I have a math question!
    How come you calculate weapon DPS by doing (attack_power * magazine) / (magazine / rapid_fire + reload) with rapid_fire being the UIs rounded number, instead of the params? Numbers are close but off in some cases, like the Scudder, which has a fire rate of .35, which is rounded from 2.857 to 2.9 in the UI.
    Why not just do (damage * magazine) / (param_fire_rate * magazine + reload)? It's technically not a huge deal, as the Scudder's DPS goes from 267.4 to 264.7, but I just wanted to check to see what your thought processes and why I was getting different numbers in my calculations!

      Oh, cause I made the documents before the params are even out, so I just used the UI's fire rate. It's also easier to keep track than tiny param changes.

    does that buff to the dagger against shields work for shields used in pvp or is it only for pve shields/barriers and the pulse shield core expansion?
    edit: what I mean is: melee weapons aren't particularly strong against shields used by ACs (except the pulse shield core expansion). does this buff to the dagger change anything against these shields?

      blades aren't any more effective than projectiles on shields used by ACs (in pve and pvp), except on the pulse shield core expansion. I was asking if the changes to the dagger made it more effective against such shields or not.

    Has anyone noticed a minor bug while dual firing in an AC using the Lammer legs in hover mode?
    I've been noticing that while im moving in hover mode while firing both guns, despite being locked on and not losing sight of the enemy, sometimes my AC wont adjust it's aim and just keep shooting in the spot that the enemy AC was and not change where it's aiming for try to track the enemy for a whole 1 or 2 seconds or if i stop firing.
    Not a big issue, just kind of annoying. Still like the legs tho.

      Yeah, the Lamm legs have a tendency to drag the aim reticle away from the target while strafing. It really screws over the HMMR!

    When I mod the Assault Rifles in my own game, the one thing that turns them from mega poopy to actually viable is cranking their bullet velocity from the ~500 to ~550 to 750 =/.
    Event when locked on perfectly, moving enemies cause bullets to just miss, even at medium ranges.

      Yep. Chatty is guaranteed to open his fight in Liberator route by firing his grenade launcher from the rafters-in other patches, this could hit you, but now it's totally incapable of hitting you and will always explode harmlessly in the air.
