The Pinsta Camera is an "instant" pinhole camera and dark room in one. Analog photography has never been more magical and mindful!
It's about time. I'm glad you guys are finally getting there. Next step is to show users how to do all that *in the field*, without needing to go into a darkroom to load the paper (as I already outlined to Oli a few years ago) All it takes is a large dark-bag and a removable "lens board" module which permits the pinhole be interchanged with a large-diameter diffusion disk with a lens cap on it for a "shutter", and/or a movable red filter in the interior & controlled from the exterior, similar to the enlarger red filters - for paper exposure by a pocket torch or even daylight, as measured with a light meter. Finally ... if Oli had a Pinsta to which, via the interchangeable lens board module, a user could attach a large format lens (yes, there are small, light weight ones!). which would bring this product to the great interest of "Afghan Street Box" users [and help create a source of revenue for small time photographers, worldwide, and help sell more paper and chems for the fledging silver-based market! VIVE Silver-based photography! YeeHaw!] ... as, again, I mentioned years ago. I'm already using my Pinsta for 4x5's this way and have sold a few portraits in the street using reversal process (again, as I mentioned) which uses even LESS paper and saves the time, hassle and expense of a positive contact. The chemical costs for the reversal process don't increase that much, and the possibility for people to see the image appear on the paper creates fascination. Amazing video! I am trying to understand exactly how the positive image is created. I know you place the paper negative on top so that the papers are touching emulsion side to emulsion side. I don't understand how when you expose the light that this then prints the image. I am used to printing from 35mm negatives where I can see that the light is going to pass through. However, in this case, you can't see through the paper negative so how does the light go through the paper negative to print the positve?
Do it! It's easy! I made camera from cigar box! Wood, pinhole, paper inside .Quicker exposure. Wider angle! Bravo!
You won't be able to develop in-camera though plus: the peak quality double chemically etched pinhole can never be produced by driving a pin through wood :)

Heya, sorry I missed your comment! I'm using a low-end Rollei one called "compact traveler No.1". As long as it has retractable legs and a quick-release plate and a ball head, you're good to go!
So you can "correct" a thin negative just like you would do with a traditional negative. Interesting

The time it takes you to say "Mississippi", takes about a second, so it's a method of counting seconds :)
I’m probably the old curmudgeon that’s in the wrong here, and I’d certainly rather have and absorb the informative content than not, but I’ll admit it’s pretty frustrating when these longer-form explainers are uploaded vertically on UA-cam. I can see where it makes sense for shorter snippets on Instagram or TikTok. Either way, my apologies for the complaint. I still appreciate the upload (and the hard work!) and I’m looking forward to receiving my 8x10 kit.

@@pinstacameraStill, I feel horrible being THAT commenter who complains, as I really love the stuff you’re doing. Hopefully it really does across as constructive feedback. I cannot emphasize enough how much Pinsta means to me as someone who probably sacrificed many brain cells in darkrooms as a teen ~28 years ago, and who still lives and breathes photography to this day. I really can’t wait to give it a go. It shipped two days ago!
