    As short middle aged woman, I appreciate Goldie sharing that men become scared or uncomfortable when women express anger or dissatisfaction. I'm convinced from experiences that a "Mom's mad" light goes off in people's brains when I'm unhappy about something, to the point that I can predict people's relationships with their mothers based on how they relate to me.

    Yes male and female brains are different. But in general what we call multitasking is actually Task Switching where each new task temporarily interrupts the old one, just like a computer. But unlike a computer, we can't provide the necessary focus to do each task well. Which is why the latest research shows that each task is done sub-optimally at best and can have overly negative affects on your overall productivity.
    Not even going to start on the male fragility B.S.

    Really enjoyed this conversation - from both legends.
    But!
    "When women get angry, men are terrified". For a start, depends on the man and woman in question. But every variation of this sentence can also be true. Women terrified of angry men, men terrified of angry men, women terrified of angry women. And in my experience, societally, neither gender is particularly "allowed" to get angry (depending on a lot of different factors!). There are some other generalisations in here or half-arguments.
    I guess I feel that the sooner we stop dividing (man, woman, boomer, millenial, black, white etc etc) and just recognise that we are all PEOPLE, the better!!

    • @imalwaysright
      @imalwaysright 7 місяців тому +3

      for all of time, men have been allowed to get angry and it was rewarded. "The sooner we stop dividing" is also one of those unpleasant remarks made by people who don't like feeling uncomfortable by the change in power. They typically had all the power . So many of the groups you mentioned were marginalized for too long, now the power balance is shifting

    • @al201103
      @al201103 7 місяців тому

      @@imalwaysright Careful wording in your comment, which I appreciate. I can see how the people you mention could resort to the same phrase I used - in the same way that some people responded to Black Lives Matter with "All Lives Matter". For what it's worth, I've been anti-divisionary since I was a teen (80s) and whole-heartedly welcome the day when those who have been marginalised do not suffer the bigotry they have for so long. Though things are better now than they used to be, we still have a long way to go.
      As for men being rewarded for getting angry, this has not been my experience or my observation - though I have certainly encountered men who have acted atrociously and climbed to positions of power. In the many places I have worked and in the society I have lived in, losing one's temper and losing control have been frowned upon and, where necessary, penalised.

    Women are awesome, I have a lot of female friends but, the multitasking thing is incorrect about anybody, a person may have to multitask but they're not doing all the tasks on the same level in which case everybody could multitask, men and women because it's usually a necessity.
    I get it though, people in the entertainment industry want to sound deep, like they're more than just their profession and money.

    Goldie Hawn is so right about the interesting shift we're seeing at the moment with young men not doing as well as young women, and the demasculination thing. I think that is what is leading to certain kinds of extreme male led movements. A bloke in Sydney just recently stabbed a bunch of innocent women to death. Clearly targeted at women. There's some crazy extreme stuff on the internet aimed at young men right now.

    • @jag5014
      @jag5014 7 місяців тому

      It's not just something as broad as feelings of emasculation. Men are actually falling through the cracks of society at an alarming rate with lower rates of graduation and higher rates of suicide, homelessness, overdose, incarceration etc-- and it's seldom talked about when it would be a constant topic of conversation if the reverse were true. I think there's been an overcorrection in which the needs of boys are being ignored. There's this perception that because wealthier White males hold disproportionate power that males in general hold a privileged position in society when that's very far from the truth. Many young men come from lower income backgrounds and almost half in the US are POC, not to mention LGBTQ, and other minorities etc.

      So unfortunate to criticize her looks,when she is speaking about really poignant moments in her life and all the valuable ways she contributes. Really people? Expand your mind and raise your vibration. 😊

      @@bettinarossi7908 it's all bullshit, this is just a way to stay in the public's mind. When you get a terrible face lift to try to look 30 and it looks like an old catcher's mitt to not comment on that is disingenuous, it's like "the emperor has no clothes". Give me a break, this woman has had a great life but now she looks ridiculous. She is in a business that prizes beauty above all else, she chose not to let herself age and this is what we have, some kind of freakish thing that we're supposed to pretend isn't there?

    Women are natural fixers, huh? Tell me, are you trying to fix something that is legitimately broken or is it fixing what YOU DON’T LIKE? P.S. They are not the same thing.

    Woman are the fixers and smart ones but most can't fix a faucet or have a stressful job with a lot of responsibility. They are called repair MEN for a reason. I wonder how many women are air traffic control and pilots? I love women cuz they are different. Men build and fix everything though. But now dudes think they can have kids so idk anymore 😂 Do we call them repair THEYs now?
