Looks like Bryce beat me to the question, and based on the comment below his, it sounds like everyone substituted for the person one level above them on the totem pole. Mark Goodson always made it a point to have "triple redundancy" contingency plans in case something went wrong. It does surprise me that Goodson didn't host anything after Pop The Question, a game show on radio in 1936, a show that also debuted the champion/challenger format.
