24 Hours in A&E is the best program on UA-cam.
I agree
On Tubi, they have several seasons.
@@cmtippens9209thanks for that info!! I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with this show!!
💯💯💯💯💯💜💜💜💜💜💜
It’s my relaxation time 😆
Paula is such a sweetheart, to believe how she was brought up in such an abusive household and she still managed to put together a lovely life for herself is incredible
The irony of a firefighter that smokes is breathtaking, both puns intended.
Good puns.
Unlike doctors and nurses who smoke. They know the result, but they do it anyway.
Paula is an amazing lady. Despite being treated so cruelly by her mum, she fought to support her own little baby. What courage she had at only 17. She’s got a fantastic SOH & is a total sweetheart. Love her.
My dear husband was being treated non stop in the ER'S trauma room. As they allowed me to sit in the corner of room . He was intubated n coded. I lost count. Then to ICU. He had dialysis with numerous iv's .
Then he softly took God's hand to start his journey.. It has been 2 years now and I miss him so.
RIP 10-13-3021

Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss.
Her mom sounds like my step mom. She wouldn’t feed me either. She hated me because I looked like my Mom. She beat me in the morning for wetting the bed. Then in the summer she sent me to the park from 7:00am til 4:50 pm wouldn’t feed me food or send food to the park. I was only 8 years old. My Father had custody of my sister and me. I was so afraid of her, she lived to torture me because I looked like my mom. I learned that my father never really loved me, after my sister told my real Mom what was going on she instantly told my Dad get her out of that house or I’m taking you to court and getting her back. We moved out but he never stopped seeing her and being with her. My father was in the hospital for hernia surgery and took a turn for the worse. My Mom called my Dads family and they came right away. He died on 10/01/68. My bday is the 4 th so my stepmother wanted him buried on that day. My Aunt refused to let that happen. My step mom wanted custody of My sister and me. We had to go to court the stepmother thought she’d get money 💰 for us. Well I was so upset about living with her that I told the Judge I’d run away and he asked why. Well he took me into his chambers and I told him everything he then sent me with assistant and asked my sister to come and talk to him. She totally confirmed everything I said. We went back in to court. My family was there my dads side. The Judge told the court what she had done to me and all the abuse I suffered. My Aunt and Grandma were crying they had no idea what I had gone through. So my Aunt got Custody of us. The Judge said he’d put her in jail if she even came near me.
It really is, the accents are so soothing lol ...All the Staff are very kind and friendly... Also very professional....
Such an interesting show.
Paula makes me want to hug her.
How could anyone treat such a lovely person like Paula so mean. I would love to give her a big hug and apologize for how poorly she was treated. All my love goes out to her and her family. I will keep her in my prayers. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️
Jeezus I've been sitting here for 5 fricking hours watching this show!!❤😂
Hugs to Paula
She seems like a sweet lady. However, she's rather selfish to worry her children so by dumping salt on her food "like snow." It isn't the person with the unhealthy habit(s) who pays the price -- it's their loved ones.
The older nurse was so lovely ❤ I need to meet ppl like that in Healthcare and get my beliefs in ppl again.
A patient appreciates knowing you care Ali. You being nosy to me means you care. I just had my Granddaughter in to instacare and that nurse asked questions about what was going on in our lives. We appreciated it.
Paula is such a sweetheart... all I wanted to do was give her a big hug. My own Nana was a single mother and refused to give my Dad up for adoption in the 1920's. I loved her so much for that.
That's unusual for that time.
Can't believe he was out there smoking after the doc told him not to.
I so enjoy/appreciate the stories behind those receiving treatment both minor and major events
Tim is such a good soul and his smile is contagious!!!
I love Paula, she's adorable, I'm glad she's okay.
Paula is an absolute hero, god bless her attitude, she deserves everyone’s respect ❤️
Paula color changed right before our eyes. As a nurse I picked it up right away. Her O2 Sat bottomed, glucose bottomed. O2 sat was put on her ear. That is a critical sign.
I watched my Father in law fade as he coded and I had already told the nurse 2 hours earlier he wasn’t right. They coded him but he didn’t make it. I had lost my MIL, My Husband and now my FIL that I took care of after my husband died. It’s been a long 5 years without them.
❤
Paula is such a hoot! I love her, she seems like she is so much fun to be around and you would constantly be laughing! The twins were pretty funny too! I love this show, I am so glad I found it! I am watching from Tennessee, USA many blessings to all!
This one had me bawling the sweet couple was just so heart touching. Reminded me of my mom and daddy.
Love Dean and Glen...and Paula! Great episode, keep them coming.
Poor Paula, she had such a terrible childhood. I can't imagine treating one of my children the way her mom treated her. She turned out to be a beautiful person.
Childhood? Do you mean marriage?
@@quinntheeskimo9846 Her childhood- She talked about how her mother would starve her, and put her in the workhouse when she got pregnant.
Yes! It’s the best! I am still touched by the opening. “You do genuinely see the best of people in this job. You see strangers rushing to the aid of someone they’ve never met…”
Love the twins! Brains, his laugh is the best 😊
Thank you for sharing this wonderful show.
I loved the twins and they wouldn’t even finish each other sentences it went back and forth every couple of words. It was amazing
Lovely episode!
These 24 Hours in A&E episodes are so good. Poor Paula having an upbringing like she did, absolutely disgraceful behaviour from anyone let alone a mother. Interesting when people say it's a miracle the patient thankfully came through, maybe, but it's the hard and dedicated skills, effort and care from all the various medical professionals that can make the difference.
You need to be really interested in people to be a good nurse...❤❤
I felt so for Paula - what a lovely old girl and her daughters ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Derek, you will always be in my prayers for good health 🙏 Much love and peace to you and wife😊
Love ❤and Prayers 🙏to Derek and Mary. What a beautiful loving couple. I couldnt hold back the tears watching them. 😢
Paula, bless you girl!
I love all the nurses and drs ❤️❤️
Very good one this time! Paule was a gem, Dean & Glen so funny but amazingly identical, Mary was a lovely brave wife & hope she & hubby will be happy together for lots of years! Love from Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤❤❤❤ Keep them coming 😀
What a good wife Mary is.
Poor Paula 😢I hope her children appreciate her- lovely lady!
Ty that was awsome ❤
In the pub... Wanna get married.....yea....lol😂im dying. I love watching this show
I have a lot of admiration for the nurses and doctors - because these special people saved my life, and rehabilitated me - back to my normal life, about a year ago, when I fell from a tall ladder while reportedly, painting the back of my house - alone. I sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI for short), and am thankful for our modern medical wonders too. I did not suffer from any major pain, and the patience of the people who helped me, was endless.
I so agree
Dear old Mum Paula. She saved her little girl and got her out to treat her better than her own rotten mum did. I had s rotten mum also. Its deep wounds when your mums heartless but you do better for your own children and you have more heart!!!♥️🙏🏻
It's so refreshing to see nurses and doctors concerned about the pain level of the patient. They don't wait they act...to make sure they are as comfortable as possible
Won’t get pain treatment like this in the states, not with the war on drugs thats made it awful for real chronic pain patients who are often forced to suffer unnecessarily. They think everyone who asks for pain meds is already a drug addict. The fear and stigma is way overblown.
As a nurse, it’s disgusting in the states how patients are treated. I’ve had a patient that had cancer, who went through 6 hrs of surgery, then get discharged with minimal amount of pain med. I can tell you an animal gets treated better by a Veterinarian!
Mom…..you watch your salt intake, be well you, you been around the block fore-sure! I wish I had a mother that loved me as you love your daughter, I think it’s so sweet the love you and daughter❤
Bless you, Paula, you are definitely a strong person. I love your sense of humour.
Thank you for sharing your story about your childhood and your husbands.
I love these stories ❤ What beautiful love stories these couples have ❤
I love hospital videos.
28:57 Looooove how cool 😎 Paula is. Her hat, her outfit, and how she was jokingly flirting with the male nurse. And how horrible her awful mother was to her. I want to cuddle heeeeeer.
My father is an identical twin and everything Glenn and Dean said is so true!!
Even at 86 years old there is still a deep hurt that affect a person throughout their whole life. Don't worry Paula there are so many friends who don't know you but think you are one in a million
Twins need to grow up
paula is amazing considering what she has been through in her life.
When did they stop taking out problem tonsils? I had mine out before I was 10. It was a horror.
I had mine lasered. Much faster recovery and have not had any problems since. I was in my late 30's, performed in the USA. Outpatient!!!
23:57 sandra bullock is a legend. I love her movies. I had always hope her and Keanu reeves would get together.
Love Dean and Glenn
Paula is an absolute GEM! God Bless Paula! Your children love you dearly and I do believe you have many admirers all over! Loved the + I love a nice bum!!
So many smokers.😑
The newspaper headline 😢...it hasn't changed there
I can’t stop watching these
Poor guy with the brain bleed, 2 days of a headache! 😮.
The lady with the high potassium must be using the NoSalt salt substitute. My heart Dr warned me not to go overboard using that.
ABSOLUTLEY hate when people think their sick enough to come to the hospital but insist on smoking. Next time it will be throat cancer and not just tonsils
It’s called an addiction for a reason lol but I know what you’re saying.
I've always respected male nurses, working in a female-dominated field.
Love the twins
So sweet ❤❤❤❤❤
There's nothing more pathetic than seeing people attached to a drip, smoking outside of the hospital
The twins are cute!
Male nurses are the best ever especially in maternity wards
If you have any symptom of possible stroke go to ER immediately
The cc on this though.... lol. Instead of "you have to stay in until you're better" translated to "Australian chili peppers 🌶 😋" lol!!
Watching all that football!!❤😂😂
Two day hospital stay for tonsilitis! Wow
I got a week for it
When I was just shy of 2 years old, I stayed in the hospital for 21 days with tonsillitis. Don’t know why they didn’t take them out. Those were the days when they took them out without question (45 years ago). Nowadays they try to keep the tonsils in and treat the infection rather than remove them.
@@DaniHMcV far more money to be made treating a condition than curing it
I love seeing men being nurses. They have a better bed side manner
Derek's been having classic stroke symptoms for 48 hours - but I was shocked, comma, SHOCKED that he was having a stroke. 🙄
Paula‘s daughters are at a bad spot being that heavy. They could turn into type one or type two diabetics because of being so overweight and how much pressure that is putting on their hearts to work overtime making sure that it’s pumping correctly. Last thing in the world I’d want to be is a diabetic, but the truth of the matter is, I am a type one diabetic since I was nine years old and I’m 62 years old now and I would never wish it upon anybody. I’m glad Paula is doing so much better. With the symptoms that she had mentioned how she felt I had wondered if she was having a diabetic Lo blood sugar and here she was.
It’s not that I’m picking on overweight people. It’s more that I worry about them being overweight and having to deal with a life-changing illness like diabetes. It’s no fun in the park.
Imagine being a fireman and smoking that many cigarettes in one day, wow!!
Those guys sure think a lot of themselves. 🙄
Getting alot of male nurses here in the states
Confused about the Paula's mother comments or have I missed something?
Visceral fat is a killer. The stress on the body is incredible.
a wonderful show but you must change whoever is doing the subtitles because the translations are rubbish....
Smoking is disgusting!!
High potassium wouldn’t come from eating too much table salt. Table salt is NaCl - no potassium
( K) in there
Yes..... I think the daughter was confusing it with sodium.
Paulas mom sounds evil.. my heart breaks for her
Smoking is a nasty habit that will kill you if you don’t quit
I disliked Glen the moment he threw the cigarette on the ground and left it there.
worst closed captioning ever
Do they have to interview the family members??? I don't careeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
Paula seemed fine before she went in, is almost like they killed her on site. Her color just talked. She's old, her whole system need to be monitored. Bit of oversight there eh St. George's. Thank goodness her daughter's were there.
UK people wouldn't survive at my hospital in the US- the whole campus is smoke free. You can't just step outside you have to get off the property completely. Smoking is not culturally as prevalent though. Which may be one of the only positive things, since imagine all the stabbings on this show were shootings- then you have an idea.
This is the 1st time I've been aggravated at the care I've seen given at the St. George's ER. Maybe I just don't know enough about the other specialties but I sure as heck know you don't call potassium "salt" unless you're deliberately trying to confuse the patient and their family. Call it by its proper name, which is "electrolyte". *And learn your protocol!* Giving a patient insulin and dextrose is a sure fire way to *kill them* by inducing severe hypoglycemia. Hanging a bag of dextrose will lower their potassium without the same risk, but even so, the patients' blood glucose and K+ (potassium level) needs to be monitored, *and* they should be on a continuous cardiac monitor while the drip is running and for up to eight hours afterward. Poor woman, this is the *worst* feeling.
Those twins are no good. I feel sorry for their wives to be
Those twins are so obnoxious
Kind of hateful comments about the twins 🫤!? Don’t really understand why? If it’s because they smoke, then you need to grow up!
Fibbin to go smoke. 😮🙄🫣
The cc on this though.... lol. Instead of "you have to stay in until you're better" translated to "Australian chili peppers 🌶 😋" lol!!
Those twins are so obnoxious
