I dont think you can tame those yet, without special psychic powers 😔

Riding atop an owlbear while summoning armies of normal bears would be an epic moment in Vellum's journey. XD

That was a massive horde. XD
I'm pleased to see that Vellum found a spell that boosts his strength. What a great buff spell to add to his repertoire. Huzzah that Cause Bear is ever closer to becoming a one of the plucky elf's many potent incantations. The dream would be to have the spell be cheap enough and reliable enough that Vellum can blow through his mana at the start of a day that he intends to spend crafting, practicing other magic, enchanting, and improving the useful mundane skills like fabrication and tailoring. Having fuzzy hordes of ursine friends wandering around his home base would be an uplifting sight. I think golems are probably far superior and the smarter thing to work on as far home security is concerned, especially since you can make them out of common materials. Having minions of either sort would be epic.
    Dandy episode!

Its amazing you think the bears that come out are going to be our friends. I think you're more of an optimist than I am. I always assumed I'd have to run as soon as I cast the spell. It is Cataclysm, after all.

@@AreimaYT That's a good point. I assumed the bears would be allied to the caster based on table top game paradigms and the long casting time, but I suppose they could start as aggressive/hostile. If the summoned bears have no allegiance to the caster, I would hope the mod authors would then make the range of the spell considerable so you can drop the untrustworthy summons into a horde and soften them up for the caster.

Thats the best part, because you see... the maximum range for the spell is touch!! Hahaha.

I really hope it is possible to get at least one friendly golem at some point.
Also as a suggestion. There was a fanatic healer back at the bookshop. She might be a good guard for the academy since there are almost no zombies in the area.

Good idea! It might be time to recruit her! Although Vellum is an introvert so we'd have to set her up a bit further away to not crowd him

How weird that my character who is a dangerous criminal, who is a serial killer, is friends with a chef.
Because my character is 55 years old and the chef is 25 years old, he kinda trained her to use a spear and trained her athletics just to increase her strength. Mind you that I am running the balance mod Stats from Skills.

Was that from the Free game or the steam version?

The Steam version is the last stable, this is played on an experimental version. Mind over Matter (one of our mods) is only available through the more up-to-date experimental versions.

When grabbed by an enemy, my advice is just use a knife like a combat knife. You will want to deal as many damage as possible in the shortest time possible. I played with characters with low strength that forced me to be cunning and used traps like nailboard traps but one time I only had a combat knife and I got grabbed by the tough zombie. With high dexterity combined with fast reflexes and level 2 in dodging, I almost took no damage despite being grabbed by a tough zombie and I killed it with the combat knife's very fast attack damage. So yeah, if you get grabbed and you have a knife in your sheath, best drop the current weapon in your hands and use the knife you have in your sheath to kill it quickly.
Alwaya have a backup weapon ready for many situations. My current character wields a total of six weapons, the AR-15, the M9 combat pistol, the Pipe Spear, and the Fire Axe, all used for situations like guns for hitting hard to hit enemies, pipe spear for horde clearing, and fire axe for pure damage against tough enemies with armor. Combat knife and hunting knife are both stored in my double garter sheath and used for backup.
