      Just for reference, the RK series have some mag compatibility issues but take quite a few different mags, the GK series of G&G AKs are TOTALLY incompatible with anything except their own special mags. I've tried 4 different brand AK mags in my GKS-74, none fit.

    • @Mondochiwan

      The GK AK series has a different shaped hopup feeder, no idea why. So the GK mags have a wider and deeper hole for engaging the hopup tube

    Not sure how big of a variety the Cape Branch's got. The Joburg branch isn't bad, I just wish they did have a large selection like Blades and Triggers has. Purely because even if B&T has alot of cool stuff too, I refuse to shop their. Too fken expensive. Can't fix your gear plus taking you for a fool is what they do to get you to buy shit. Shoving supposed good deals in your face, telling you what you want to hear. At Walker none of the guys did that. So hats of to Walker for not being shmucks.

      @@1LegionSAORION I've known Blades and triggers for years. Always had a look there but I never bought anything from them. Last year I said, I'm starting airsoft, screw it, I need a fun hobby. So I looked around if there were any other shops. True as nuts I found walker, and about a week ago I bought the G&G Preditor. Figured if I'm gonna have fun, the gun should be better than a beginner gun. Bought some attachments, so it looks insane. So looking forward to trying it out playing my first game. You can ask the guys at Walker Joburg, I'm there almost ever weekend. Probably tired of seeing my face 😂 but their alright. They gave me their honest opinions on weapons, and I'm chuffed so far.

    Any confirmation on what brand the metal mag was? I’m new to the ak platform and trying to research mags is giving me anxiety because every other person says every other ak feeds every other mag differently! Lol this video has convinced me to go with this rather than an lct though. Thorough but concise video, I appreciate you covering things like battery space and fitment, mag fitment, what you’ve upgraded and the problems you faced. Most reviews on UA-cam are either paid or recorded by somebody who just unboxed it on their bed in 480p.

      Hi, I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate the feedback! The magazine was a 150rd Classic Army one and didn’t have any issues with the G&G. If you are concerned about fitment then the G&G AK mags are also very good, so you can stick with them if you like. Hope it helps and have fun on the field!

      Really? That’s so strange. I have tried Classic Army and some cheap brand and they managed to rock in. Also keep in mind that G&G added a rubber buffer so the mags won’t rattle and that could be causing issues

      I used CYMA mags, but you need to trim some of the lip. But they were plastic ones, so in winter games the lip will often brake off if you not careful. I didn`t used G&G ones because they had feeding issues, but i find out how to fix it. If you have feeding problem with G&G mags, you need to remove the plastic finger which is pushing BB`s all the way up. After i removed it they are feeding great now.

    Hey.Nice review.It would like to ask,what can i expect from this replica?I mean stuff like range for .25 and .28 but also what other internal upgrades do i need to make in order to get the most out of it(could you also name the pieces that i need to buy?)

    • @1LegionSAORION
      @1LegionSAORION  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! I’m glad you liked the review 😁
      So I have not measured the range of this replica but it did well for skirmishes without any upgrades. Maybe 60m effective range with a few shots? Obviously the heavier the bb the better. I play with 0.28’s.
      Internally I later got an SHS plastic with full metal tooth piston with aluminum piston head and used the green G&G o-ring from the old one. I also got an SHS aluminum nozzle (make sure it’s the same size - AK nozzles are sometimes shorter than M4)
      I also used the MODIFY flat hop bucking (black) and left the hop unit as it seemed decent. The only other mod was correcting angle of engagement. This involved a spacer glued to the inside of the cylinder head and shaving off the second last tooth of the piston. This is pretty advanced so I’d have a tech do it or watch a lot of videos first online. And that’s about it.
      Cylinder, cylinder head, barrel, hop unit and gears were all ok so left them alone.

    • @1LegionSAORION
      @1LegionSAORION  3 роки тому

      Phew, that’s a long tutorial! I learned a lot from TheAirsoftTech on UA-cam as they cover almost everything. As for changing the barrel, I have found the one in the rifle is actually very good. If you want to replace it you can, but it’s really not a necessity in my opinion. Longer barrels also cause more drag on the bb and in my opinion work better with sniper rifles as they have bigger cylinders that have enough air for long barrels.
      The thing is that there must be a balance between the barrel “air volume” and the inner cylinders “air volume”. If the barrel is too long, the gun runs out of air to properly push the bb and you get a lot of drag and issues

    Hi again, I appreciate it's been a while since you uploaded this video, but I have a question. I'm very new to airsoft (only been once so far) but I wanted to know what brand of accessories you used for this rifle and equally what you would recommend for G&G rifles in general? I've seen some of your other videos and know you use the 'G&G Predator' and wanted to know what brand of attachments you used on that? Thanks and keep up the great channel!

    • @1LegionSAORION
      @1LegionSAORION  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! I generally find the G&G Predator is the most popular replica that people use as it comes with the most features and the electronic trigger etc. But the G&G GC16 Warthog or CM16 are also popular. I listed the accessories on my Review of the Predator in the Description box so you can follow the links and have a look. Otherwise have a look at your local store for similar items. Unfortunately there are not really "set brands" of accessories as most of the Airsoft gear is the cheaper Chinese made stuff, so it comes down to trial and error or shopping around a lot. I've bought from Amazon, Red Wolf Airsoft and other random places. But Amazon or eBay are good places to shop and just read the reviews to see if the product is any good. Otherwise, I am glad you enjoy the channel and I hope to get some more reviews and tips posted soon!

    I'm really surprised to hear that you have found other branded AK magazines that fit. I am looking at getting either the AK74E/T and have been told by multiple people that I will only be able to use G&G magazines. Have you used any other magazines since you made this video?

    • @1LegionSAORION
      @1LegionSAORION  2 роки тому +1

      Full disclosure: I have sold the AK in the meantime only due to the fact that using a zoom camera made filming very hard thanks to the higher rail mount. However, I had used Classic Army mags without issue and some sort of generic mag I found at a swap meet. I do know that some manufacturers build AK's differently, but usually the mags that fit CYMA Ak's seemed to work with the G&G. Also, G&G does install a rubber bushing where the mag goes in to keep them from wobbling around, so you do have to use a little force to rock aftermarket mags in. I would say if you got the AK then take the mag with to a local store and make sure the BB feeding hole and hook lip are the same and it should work. Hope that helps - unfortunately there is always some experimenting in airsoft!

    How long is your ownership with the RK? Is it reliable 100% stock? And what issues did it had over the time of your ownership?

    • @1LegionSAORION
      @1LegionSAORION  3 роки тому +2

      Hi! I had it for 2yrs. I sold it because I could not film with a zoom cam on the top - the sights were blocked.
      But, it worked 100% the whole time. Literally nothing broke or jammed when it was “stock” using 11.1v LiPo batteries. Only issue I had was when I flipped from “full auto” to “safe” while my finger was pressing trigger in full auto. A switch went wrong but easily fixed by opening gearbox and putting it back in right place. Then no issues at all. That was “human error” not the rifle. I will say with any AEG you must at least replace the plastic piston. Lots of use will eat the piston eventually. But that’s for any AEG out there. Hope it helps!

    • @ashtonjohnarcay269
      @ashtonjohnarcay269 3 роки тому +1

      Ok... That's good to hear that the only issue is something that content creators should be concerned of, but would 100% recommend it to someone who came from a "budget" brand like JG?

      Hi, the variety of airsoft gear is limited here in SA, so i have only tried a few brands. I do know that the SRC AK 47 mags and Classic Army did work. I have not tried other brands unfortunately. Note that G&G glued on a strip of rubber where the mags clip in, so it does make some hard to rock into place. They did it to prevent mags “wobbling”. cant you use the battery on the dust cover?

    • @1LegionSAORION
      @1LegionSAORION  Рік тому

      Unfortunately there is no space under the dust cover. All the wires go to the hand guard area. Maybe with a small battery and rewiring it could be possible, but the fuse and MOSFET board make it difficult as they are under the dust cover hinge

    • @harrielol
      @harrielol Рік тому +2

      You can rotate the MOSFET around if you disassemble the gun, it's quite easy to do. I have it done it on mine to use a bigger titan battery. But the battery cables will get stuck with the bolt slide if you pull the charging handle.. which is annoying if you change the hopup

    • @arnydze6158
      @arnydze6158 10 місяців тому

      I have RK-74 CQB version, all the wires are in handguard and made that connector are barely out of handguard for battery to plug in. Most suitable way to put battery in dust cover was to shorten battery wires. if you know how to solder its pretty easy. And i changed Mini Tamiya connectors to XT60. Its really easy now to put battery in , and i dont have any problem with access to hop up or charging handle movement.
      P.S. i use long AK batteries 1000 - 1200 Mah. diameters are 19x1,5x1,5cm and 19x1,5x1,6cm
