This sound of The Skyliners, The Holidays, and The Tempos were similar but contained a pure Pittsburgh sound.
Got to see these guys in person back in the day. More of Pittsburgh Doo-Wop.
Pittsburgh is one of the last oases of doo wop (let's try saying harmony). There was always high quality local groups like the Holidays singing somewhere. Plus there were plenty of radio shows playing the boss sounds. I loved Pittsburgh when I lived there. The PBS oldie shows were made there. Tickets sold out in an hour or two Yes they sounded like the Skyliners, but over time the Skyliner's lead lost his voice compared to that of the Holidays. Good times.
The only member on this video of the original group is Charlie Hatfield. He is on far right in group. Lead singer is not original
