We are Washington natives & appreciate seeing you enjoying our beautiful coastline & rainforest. We are camping at Pacific Beach now, day tripped to Forks, walked Ruby Beach, and some day hikes between here & there. Like Abbey, i am both soothed and energized by the ocean and forest. We always enjoy your podcasts & videos. Continued safe & happy travels to you!
Fun fact- For an air conditioner, or any motor running on alternating current, when voltage drops the motor draws more amps to compensate. The circuit breakers in your house or RV trip when a predetermined amperage is exceeded, which is why a voltage drop in the rv park can cause your a/c to trip the breaker. The formula VA=W (volts x amps = watts) explains why this happens.
Mesh head net is so useful. Most camping and outdoor stores carry them, especially in Canada. Also see what is sold in Canada for bug repellent, they might have different formulas not approved in the U.S.
Seems like wiring inside the rig would have to be changed as well if its not heavy enough to handle the additional power. Limiting other items on at the same time as the air conditioner would help as well.
I'm here for The Price Is Right and Supermarket Sweep discussion!! For 18 years I drove a 2005 minivan - no motorized doors on that baby. Every week I'd fill the trunk with groceries and then streeeetch up (on a good day I'm 5'2"), grab the handle of the trunk door and pull down with all my might to close it. And every week I'd say "Big Money! Big Money!" lol!!
I agree with Abby that alls it takes is one bad apple and it spoils the whole bunch. With that Iowa nit having people being able to dump any more at rest areas. Pretty nice of Keystone to their own temp test. That’s awesome. I wonder why people have to be cruel to throw a cupcake at your truck. I like that that’s pretty nice a tire store that has a little of everything. I think our party city stores closed here in Nevada I think. Hope you have safe travels have a great weekend and see you both soon!
And Crappy Tire has Auto Repair. And even though they are stuffed with they are well marked the isles so you can find whatever you need. There is a Crappy Tire in just about every Canadian city. They were here long before Walmart. Or Target. Which Canadians sent Target packing back to the USA.
If it makes you feel any better, when I was in Alaska around this time of year a few years ago, the only place I thought that mosquitoes were a nuisance was at Wonder Lake in Denali NP. Other than that, I did not notice them to be a significant issue. That said, I was there earlier in the summer then your family will be so they may be more widespread later in the summer. Also, Jason, you are completely right, I often question where the prices on The Price is Right come from.
😂 Canadian Tire! I grew up here in BC and coming back I totally get your confusion! lol but thanks for the tip that I can park there overnight ;) But not all locations have a sani dump or they charge.
Wow! You have a mosquito infestation there too! I heard they are really bad in one one of the states but I forgot where on the news they said. Plus some other bug is here really bad like before which is grass hoppers and crickets too! I can handle those but nit mosquitos. I feel for you and your kids Jason and Abby.
I was in Canada last summer and can relate to the mosquitoes! I used essential oil insect repellent from Young Living and although you have to reapply it worked for both me and my dog. I never had to resort to Deet. Loved Canada-so beautiful! Have you come across Loonies and Toonies yet?😆
I didn’t mind you talking about Price is Right! I too knew of someone who went there but they didn’t get picked. The Price is Right studios is moving 10 miles away from where they are at. I saw it on the news. This place you are at by the water. Not bad to pay $5.00.
When we start out, my husband and I will probably do some 'workamping" and Olympic National Park is on the list for summer. I'm glad you guys have such a good review of it 😁 Jason has never been to a Ren Faire and your friends are all into it?! Crazy. Actually, Abby, other than when you were 17 have you been back to one? Bc I would think you'd be more into it. I love them! I love dressing up and seeing the other costumes, the arts and crafts....so much color and creativity!
Our old fifth wheel had the fresh water tank shift on us and it broke the drain port. We had about 20 gallons in it at the time and we were driving in a extremely hilly, twisty road in a state park. We got home and fixed it so it wouldn't happen again. I've wonder if the tank had been full there would not have been all the wave action going on to create the force..?
Where is your pop up tent!? Ugh. Mosquitoes are a lifelong fear for me, I get sick too. Painful and with nausea with too many bites. Permethrin coated lighter colored clothing works best for me. And I have a mesh head net.
@@RVMilesPodcast in addition to permethrin, I bring a mesh thing I can hang over the bed or from a tree or something to sit outside. Way less of a setup than a pop up canopy. Stay itch free!
thermacell mosquito repeller love them. So jealous you are doing your event in my home area of Amana. As for the Rest Area dump sites- the Governor isn’t the brightest bulb in the pack. She’s initiated several foolish decisions. Canadian Tire is like Farm and Fleet and the original Walmart stores. Love em!

Canadian Tire is awesome! 🇨🇦 That’s where us 50 year olds hang out on a Friday night 😂

Yes, nice
Olympic NP is beautiful!
Agreed!
Another great show and no plastic seat bashing! 😂. (Todd)
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have been to the Ren. Fair in Amana many times. Love it. Enjoy the Joust.😀
Good to know!

Yeeeeeesssssss! Sometimes I walk into a new grocery store and think “where would I start if this was super market sweep?” -A

Wow! Can’t be believe a water tank fell out from an Rv. That’s sad that that would happen!
Yes it is.
Ohio actually does have dump stations and pay to stay RV spots in 4 rest areas west and east.

You both must be cold there in Canada with long sleeves on. How’s Canada? I love it there. Hope you are having fun there!

I’ve actually been to once since being a part of one. I don’t know why I’ve never gone back. -A

It was a one night stop so we did not put the gazelle out. Otherwise, yes, we could have used that pop-up tent! -A

Have also found that putting alcohol bases hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol on bites helps relieve the itch.

Wish I could find the picture I took up in Alaska. Stood 3' tall and 5' long. Thankfully it was made out of metal!
NO WHAMMIES 🤣🤣
Big money!
Did you see the tree of life?
"Warranty claim denied. Not recommended to travel with furniture, mattresses, or any other cargo in the RV" -RV manufacturers, probably.
Good Morning. They do everything as cheap as they can. The sale people sell a dream not was it true. You are on your own after you buy it. Jack
A fan gets rid of mosquitoes.
They can't handle 4 mph wind!
Stay away from lakes and woods. staying along the ocean where there is a breeze is better. I think cities must spray to keep them down.
Don’t itch the bites. They turn into welts and scars.
