- Testing my new battery to see if it meets the manufacturers claims. It is a DC House 100ah battery. at the time of editing it can be purchased for $249.99 CAD

CAD link www.amazon.ca/...
I just purchased four 12v 100AH LFP batteries on Amazon for $161.99 each and I did use a fancy $8,000 DC load tester to test them and they all came in at over 100AH.
What batteries were they? I wish we could get batteries that cheap here in Canada.
DC House Was $155 USA president's day special with coupon on ebay, few days ago.
Its a rebranded ECO-WORTHY battery. Ive been looking into purchasing one of these lithium batteries for my van. And these seem the most affordable right now.
They are $309.99 CA right now
It has the low voltage shutoff which i think is important living here in Canada.
i will purchase them soon i think. Just need to save a bit more money.
Thanks for the video.
Just wait. They go down to 250. That’s what I got mine for and last week there were down to 250 as well. The sales only last a day or 2 though.
I got 2 of them. one was 270 and 2nd was 250 Canadian. last week.
@@TheJeffLude have you had a chance to test them out yet? If so initial thoughts? I’m so far impressed with mine. I can’t speak ti longevity yet but they were actually cheaper than a deep cycle I need for the trolling motor on the canoe.
@@brettseres8352 I just tried to charge my Ecoflow power station and it seems to work no problem so far.
None of the budget batteries have low temperature disconnect so that needs to be done externally IE victron battery sense or smart shunt with temp add on and used to control your charger.
Great testing, very good explanation throughout, could do with a link to the battery
I just updated the description and put the Canadian and American links In it.
I just paid $179 for an lfp 12V 100Ah battery with low temp disconnect, blue tooth and active balancing on Amazon.
American?
Can tell you 3 in series will run a 36v old resistor golf cart without any problems. Flooring it from a stop and running it up hills never made it cut out.
That’s really good to know because we are looking at getting 2 more and running a 36v trolling motor on it.
thanks nice test
Really nice testing. Good video
Thanks!
@@brettseres8352 welcome!
Did you measure the voltage at the cutoff point?, because in another UA-cam review it was around 7v. That's too low for a cutoff voltage (should be 10v) and will damage the cells in the long run. I believe the manufacturer has set the BMS for a low cutoff voltage to boost the AH rating, and that tells me the cells in this battery are second grade/used cells. That may explain the low price on this 100AH battery.
I don’t know the exact voltage but it was right around 10v. That’s also what it was advertised on. The way I know that I’s I had looked at my inverter it was at around 10.2-10.3 volts. And within a minute pretty well of turning around, it shut off.
That video also said that it was over 100ah even if it would have cut off at 10v.
video was 1 month ago and says $249.99 CAD, but on amazon now it is $309. Geesh, I hope the price comes down again.
Keep checking back daily. They often only have the sales for 1-2 days at a time.
LiPuls has a mini for under 200. Another channel just reviewed them
I’m in Canada. We can’t get them that cheap here unfortunately. At the time when I got this it was the cheapest 100ah I could find.
when it is new it will perform i suppose. But in 1 years from now what will be the same test results?
I believe it to be the same as an eco worthy battery and they seem to be lasting. Also some of the Chinese batteries won’t even meet their ratings.
How many watts were the connected lights?
Off the top of my head 150 each so 300 in total
Is it safe to just sit this kind of "non-marine" chinese LiFePo4 on top of a rental boat while in open, heavy rain or should i look for a marine grade battery? How likely is damage by doing it? Sorry about the dumb question :D
As far as I can tell from my own battery. And videos online of other people taking batteries that I suspect are made from the same manufacture. It seems to be sealed up really good. That being said I don’t like any of my batteries sitting in the rain, including my lead acids I still have. Something like this www.amazon.com/attwood-9067-1-Power-Vented-Battery/dp/B001O0D6QK/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2MIAZ0MH82XYO&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.G2pKyrmkvONJ3qrSVrONud4lctiZqLS_Z4FiNxTZeWjL7GR-fA06L0WCc_k0pTyMxQJ1lgp7-NX9UbpsyiYgVkrXAbqAWhfEjv7ldsiXkFwRP6Z4k4yS-p-w-IPMyWsNr9ddrca1deqcPwqpCV__bp7QBaTHXHmDiEqcK5V2zyEAJJP0F4fBPiW2POasxaSb1HbiiulzyO774bmmNDxKvg.fvW5Hh6c0MZIw6MSpHveHaGt7N8lT3SmJKq_gxo_rhc&dib_tag=se&keywords=battery+box&qid=1712334761&sprefix=battery+box%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-3 may be a good idea. Just a. Covered battery box and pretty cheap too. We used to run them on any battery that was exposed to weather.
I’m sure people will criticize me for this but I did used to sell marine batteries when I worked at a marine. There isn’t much difference between marine batteries and regular ones. Marine are built a little tougher as they get abused more and they also don’t vent. Some automotive batteries vent and you don’t want that in an engine hatch. I can’t speak as to how long these batteries will last in rough conditions but I do know they don’t have the plates that can fall apart like lead acids. If I were you I’d use it but just maybe use a battery box like I suggested.
@@brettseres8352 Thank you for the quick reply, you cleared it up for me. I'll definitely get the box!
@@DEVOURR just do the measurements to make sure it’ll fit. It’s cheap protection for an expensive battery. I know we’ve wrecked batteries by having stuff fall on them.
Just got something similar on eBay for $168 including tax
🙌
how much does the battery weigh?
20-22lbs. It’s surprisingly light. Our agm 105ah battery weighed 58 I believe
Now $151 on ebay.
