this is why im watching too lol.. to grow it for my 2 cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Very informative and easy to follow video.
12 days to harvest, that is awesome. I'm going to do this for my rabbits. going to use 4 trays as each tray should last 3 days. I'll have a supply that never runs out.
Great information!! I’ve been growing micro greens on clay saucers without soil works great!
Thank you very much for sharing this! It's short and informative.
Short and up to the point video, that is what I like. 👌
I like the kombucha behind you :) thanks for the straight to the point tips, I’m starting to grow my wheatgrass now
I have a packet of 800 seeds. Thankyou so much for this video. I plan to put it in my smoothies.

Awesome video ! Thank you!
Thank you nicely explained I am starting today.
Under 7days only in navratras .. i have this amount of wheatgrass...power of spiritual positive talks with plants....
This is good, I grew wheatgrass for a while and it got moldy after watching your video I may try again.
Airflow is important as well.
My guinea pig is going to love this
In my country this plant name is Samani, we do this in the holiday Novruz 🤗
This was so helpful!
Thank you for the video!
Great video. thank you so much
Yes, same with sunflower microgreens. The constant 2x daily rinsing prevents mold.
Hello, really enjoyed this video. Can we follow the same process to grow Barley Grass ???
great video thank you!!
awesome!! thankyou!!
What temperature nd how much light or no light kindly share everything to get full benefits of this
Thank for sharing 👍🏼
Thank you so much
Love ur no nonsense easy instructions💚. Does this method go for BARLEY & RAY too? I've been growing wheat grass for my rabbit and want to give variety wo soil & gnats!
Good presentation...I prefer to grow wheatgrass without soil as my soil could be contaminated by insects...It is cleaner to eat the wheatgrass grown in clean water...
Thankyou so much 👍
How fast it grows has a lot to do with the temp at which it's grown. Also, you want to harvest it right when the sprouts start splitting into two distinct leaves...it's at this point that it's the most nutritious.
Great added info!
Love the giant jar of booch in the background
Trying this method for all types of microgreens. All types of beans, lentils, lettuce, etc... Gonna use doubled newspaper instead of paper towels. Should be able to start vegetable and herb seed this way as well!!! ;-) thanks bro! Trying to boost my challenged sons and I's nutrition intake on a very small, shoestring budget.
This will help to turn a lot of those empty carbs into healthier proteins, vitamins, minerals and enzymes! Might even have a good chance to boost my metabolism and health after all these years! ;-)
Really nice Video and to the point .. however, try using the cotton cloth instead of paper towel..
Weee💖🌹✨✨✨ I never thought could do hydroponic until now blessed feeling smart hehe 👩⚕️🧠✨
Your videos are very insightful. But kindly inform if the same process be used for growing barley grass indoors.
Hi, thank you. One question, can we make wheatgrass powder by drying it in the sun for 3 days?
Have you made holes in the upper container too
Thank you can same process be used for other micro greens
Do you have a video on kombucha? Will be using your method for wheatgrass.
Superb
great video
Wow nice
How do you do seed disinfection to prevent fungus?
I grew my wheatgrass and potting soil and it only took five days to be able to start using I don't know if it's because I live in Las Vegas Nevada where it's quite hot right now but I put it in my window seal and it just took off grew like a weed...
Hi - do you have a follow-up video on how to regrow the seeds after you trim the grass? I'm day 6 now. Really hoping you respond. Thank you
Best to start new ones as nutritional benefits will be lower especially if you are growing without soil
is there any nutritional difference between soil or soiless wheatgrass
Also has anyone tried oatgrass and or rye grass
Thank you for the enlightening vid. I just didn't understand the edge sink detail very well. Thank you.
Basically, create holes on one side of the tray and places the tray with the side containing the holes over the sink. When you add water to the tray, the water drains directly into the sink.
good ,,,, straight to the point
sure
after one harvest can we keep continuing the process...will the same set regrow again?
Hey man... May ask a question.. is all kinds of wheat can use to make juice... because I only have the dark or brown wheat..it still can? Pls. answer.
Hi! Thank you for the tutorial. I have some questions, as I have never tried to grow it. 1. How many times can you re-harvest? 2. What do you do to the root bed when it has no further harvest left? Do you throw the root bed away? Please let me know.
Usually, can only get two cuttings (at most three) when growing with soil, might be fewer with this method. Throw away or compost the root bed once finished harvesting.
From India good
How the water can come out of the main container without holes into the lid?
Can I use this grass for aquarium plants
Hi. I have a question. I once started growing strawberries (in soil) right in my apartment (to get them an early start) and I ended up having a fungus gnat (small flies) infestation in my apartment; I later learned that those pesky flies are very attracted to damp humid environment (to lay their eggs). Have you ever had any fungus gnat flying around while doing your wheatgrass cultures? Thank you.
i had some outside that went bad for some reason, they were in a small container and for some reason became kinda like a mini swamp - even the soil changed color, it was weird
but there are a lot of bugs outside :D
Can this also be done with barley grass. I hear guinea pigs love this.
How long will the wheatgrass be fresh if you keep watering after 12 days?
Hi, do you drain the water when you water it everyday?
Is the tray having holes
Must we put in the sun when green shoots appear
Thank you
hello! may I kindly ask. is this process the same for growing cat grass? :)
You say to soak for 12hours and strain after 2 days so what do you do in between
Can I use cotton cloth instead of paper towel?
What do you do after day 12? Do you toss it all and start all over again?
@i can't belive i'm saying this, but I thought he said cut and use
Please tell us how many days it will be with out soil n ☀️sun light because I will keep inside the home please reply to me
So do we leave the seeds in the paper towel for 24 hours or 12?
where do you get your seeds from, and what juicer do you use? Thank you so much!
Bulk Barn sells wheatgrass kernels in bulk… purchased mine yesterday and they’re soaking beautifully
Where do you buy the wheatgrass from?
Im curious whats fermenting on your kitchen counter.😳btw love wheat grass. Great video.
may be kombucha
@@CCpuppyface looks like it.
Where do you get wheat seeds?
So do they have phosphorus?
I don't buy paper towel.
Is it possible to use fabric?
Thank you for your very clear and informative video. Question, how come my wheatgrass does not sprout roots at all? I did the soaking and then drained the water and left the seed to germinate. But it does not grow roots at all. Help!
The seeds are probably damaged. Old seed or seeds that have been irradiated or sterilized won’t germinate.
Try organic or seeds designed for sprouting-you’ll get a better germination rate
You might have let the seeds dry out too much... or maybe your seeds were old. Try a different seed supplier.
When can eat wheat sprouts?
I wish you had replied to your questions in the comments. I had many of the same questions.
So does this have as much nutrition as using coconut coir... Can I use kelp fertilizer to water...
Yes, it has as much nutrient, you can use the fertilizer however it is not necessary and will not make any effect. Wheatgrass will need nutrients if you would like to grow the plant more than 6 inches.
Daisy Creek Farms thanks for clearing that up because I was about to spend so much money on fertilizer and a grow medium
1:39 it’s not clear if both trays have holes or just the lid.
But since it’s draining I’m guess both do!
I’m assuming the lid tray likely has holes just on one side, and the big tray has holes all over.
I have the same question. What holes are punched in the growing container?
i tried . grains sprouted also. but
but
white fungus formed across the comtainer
1:53 I don't understand - are there holes in the container that the seeds are in? How will the water drain from the container if there are holes only in the bottom tray?
What about broken seeds? My seeds got mixed with broken ones
Do you have a recommended store for buying the seeds? Many thanks
I purchased mine from Bulk Barn… also feed stores carry it (co-op, ? fleet farm). Amazon is pricey
This wheat seeds has shell?
My seeds ate producing milky white substance. Is it normal?
Wonderful :)
How about letting half grow out to produce more seeds
My wheat seed are soft is it normal
Is the whole wheat seeds you get in an Indian grocery store the same as wheatgrass seeds? They look identical. Great video btw! Very informative!
Yes try it
Yes!
I'm sprouting wheat for wheat grass. I am curious though. There are a lot of sprouts. Can you eat sprouted wheat raw or does it need to be cooked first.
You can eat the sprouts raw. They have a sweetness to them. You have to do a lot of chewing though.
Thanks for this video and I will try to grow wheat grass without soil. I am really surprised with this video.
Without soil, are they contains same vitamins?? Must be funny question.
Secondly, as per video we can use the same on and after 12 th day. If we cut and use wheat grass, again it grow from same roots?? If yes shall we use the same?? If no, how many times we can use the same?
The second batch of wheatgrass from the same sprouts will have less nutritional value than the first batch. It can be done. If you’re looking for the best nutritional value start a free batch of wheatgrass.
How the water drains thru the tray in which grains are placed.,.u mentioned holes only in the under tray
Yahu Yahu this bit threw me too
This puzzled me, too. So, I assumed that the tray basin already had holes.
🙋♀️ me too
Is this a sustainable grow? Meaning, after we trim down the first harvest, will the grass keep growing for continual use? Thx
You can let it grow the second time but the harvest is not as good and tender as the first time.
How can save dis from fungus
