  • Heritage Steam & Diesel-Electric Locomotives are allocated to a Steam Incorporated Paekākāriki excursion bound for Kai Iwi on the Marton - New Plymouth Line in New Zealand. The excursion crosses over the Whanganui River at Aramoho, where PS Waimarie is waiting below to blow her whistle and treat her passengers to the spectacle.

    Good video and some nice shots around Wanganui. It is a shame we can’t have steam power for the entire trip, but having something is definit Better than having nothing 😀

      Greetings. Thanks for your comments. There may come a time when there will be less steam-qualified loco men, and diesel-electric heritage units have a greater share of the excursion work. The train in the video would have been overweight for a single loco. I think having a push-pull arrangement gave the organizer greater flexibility undertaking their shedual
