I know this is old but for anyone who doesn't know, you can put Vaseline around your face edges, ears and neck to avoid staining, the dye can't penetrate it. Just make sure your hair doesn't get a bunch on it!

Love This Colour, Thanks For Sharing You Look Fabulous, I tried to do That on my hair but I didn't section it enough so it ended up all one colour with slight blue underneath I waited for 2 months to get it right then messed it up but everybody still loves the colour it is mystic violet, which I love so I will try again in the next 2 months, and come back again to watch your video Thanks again x

Love the colors great tutorial, I don't think you got color anywhere on your skin that never happens to me it is everywhere. I am trying to get a charcoal or silver purple. I use pravana color can you tell me what I can mix to try to achieve this type of color please??

Hi! This is really amazing. I'm wanting to do someting very similar but i've bleached my hair once before and i really don't want to do it again. How would it turn out on a light/medium brown color??

It turned out really well. The other videos I've seen so far they bleached them out first. I'm hesitant about bleaching...my hair sucks to begin with. It's a joke about who sheds more...me or the cat! The others did layer thin pieces of foam in between to avoid bleeding but looking at you maybe not necessary. Wish me luck! First time doing 2 tones...gulp!
Yes I have highlights all throughout my hair so the color can show up. Have fun and good luck!
Direct dyes don't bleed, so you really don't need to seperate the layers like you do with a dye that has ammonia! Also, her hair is already bleached in some areas so you do need to lighten hair beforehand.
I love it. I wish my hair was light enough to take color like this. I would have to bleach it 3 times before I could do this.
aw no! from your profile picture it looks like your hair is way lighter than mine and i was able to lighten in just one session. of course make sure you are seeing a professional stylist and ask for Olaplex! good luck :) thanks for watching

thank you!! i like to rinse out really, really well with cooler water, then a quick shampoo just at the scalp to remove the stain.
I wish I can do it bit my hairdresser said I can only do a balayage because I regularly get my hair relaxed and I think I want to do something like this.

I wanted to know if I can do this on my short pixie haircut? My sides are shaved with clippers so all I really have to play with is my bangs & crown to do shadow root with a Permanent brown & ends with a pretty metallic blue. Thank God I found you ok so I went to go get balayage and they left the top too long and bottom a little bit of time using same level of peroxide I know they did so then when they rinsed it it looked silver on top and yellow on bottom so..
I decided to play with my hair and put purple violet manic panic and got amazing colors blue purple and silver and a little hint of pink but now I really want it like yours love it but I don't have my license yet and I can only go to Sally's which brands would you recommend but I want like a dark root not color. HELP!!!!!!!!!.........
It's beautiful! I've had the product quite a while (not same brand I just saw your post today) but I am afraid bc I feel I'm going to butcher it. I do friends hair but no one ever wants to reciprocate. I think it's fun. My hair is pretty dark reddish brown and I'm also afraid if I bleach it first it will be over proccessed
yes always be careful when lightening your hair. I recommend going to a professional and have them recommend what they think your hair can handle :)
Hello! I love your end results!!! I just love purple hair but I stopped doing it purple because I would stain shirts, pillows, clothes and even my neck! It was a constant hassle of wiping the color stains from my neck and couldn't wear any light color clothes because they would end up getting stained. Do these colors you applied stain? I'm ok with the dye bleeding when showering/washing but not when it's dry
Hi! Thanks so much for your question. Some colors can but I always recommend to rinse as much as possible until the water runs clear. shampoo a couple times gif needed and you should be good :)

thank you! yes you would need to bleach your hair for these types of colors to show up. I always recommend getting your hair lightened by a professional :)

With your natural dark hair, how did you initially do the bleaching?
I get my hair highlighted about twice a year and this is how I maintain the bright colors. I always recommend getting it bleached by a professional.
I want to try this technique with Blue Jean and Wrath (dark red and navy). I don’t want purple, so wish me luck.

Use petroleum jelly on your skin to avoid staining
Yes that works great too! I try to avoid that because just encase some gets on the hair it can interfere with the color absorbing. Thanks for the tip!
you can run a smear of vaseline on your skin around your hairline to avoid getting colour on your skin.

It could still work! I always switch up techniques depending on textures of my clients. I would say you can grab bigger sections than I did and it would still work out 😊😊
