I'm 33, no kids, no cancer, I've been suffering with this for about 3 years. The nurses at my GP changed my contraceptive to try to help - coming off the pill made it way worse. I've told multiple doctors, but they're not interested! They just don't want to investigate the cause.

I agree. No shame in symptoms from menopause. I suffered for a few years thinking it was something else. Relieved its simply vaginal atrophy and I am using an Estring. What a miracle. I wish people would stop referring to this VERY common ailment as "sensitive". Menopause has made women feel shameful and it shouldn't. Women comprise 50% of the population. We will all experience menopause and it's symptoms. Please stop using words that perpetuate old stereo types. Empower us and work to make HRT accessible to all women.

Can someone help? I just need help with Vaginal Dryness because its affecting me so much mentally. I was on the Depo for about 1 year, then stopped it November last year and I just lost all my sex libido and absolutely no vaginal wetness, just complete dryness so matter how much foreplay and love I did with my partner, lubricants didn't help apart from friction, burning, stinging everytime, I was in a lot of pain. I haven't had sex since January this year. Doctor's given me Sylk vaginal moisturiser which I didn't notice. Can you please help me? Or will I ever feel like a woman again ? I am only 29. Gardenia I am so saddened to read this. You can be treated and helped. It will take time to rebuild the tissues and get you there so be patient. Please go to your GP and tell them that you need vagifem pessaries up to 5x a week PLUS ovestin vaginal cream 3x a week. If they will only start with one, get the ovestin cream because your tissues will be too dry and depleted for the vagifem. If they say no; demand a referral to urogynae and quote me. Please read Jane Lewis's book "my menopausal vagina" and join her facebook group 'vaginal atrophy'; you will find that you are not alone by a long shot. Believe me that women in their 70's have successfully reached the point of restarting sexual relationships; you can too. You are not a failure as a woman, you have been failed by your doctors. Good luck.

They have said it’s not a prolapse. I don’t think I will get to hospital because of the virus here. I think I’ll just have to insist on an examination. They have said no to it so far . I don’t think we have a menapause clinic here . I’m in Scotland, near Dundee. They will probably all be closed with this covid . Thankyou so far . I’ll just have to bare with it for the time being . Maybe another month of estrogen pessories will help ? I just don’t know ? Very debilitating. Thankyou for your guidance. I think you are in America?? Different from Scotland. 🤞❤️

Annette Murphy I guess that’s a complex reply. Being post menopausal and not using oestrogen will likely lead to vaginal dryness and anything can then irritate or worse more easily including pads. Menopause will also worsen incontinence. I think I have vaginal dryness and I 'm definitely menopausal. Horrible and very irritating.

I'm sorry to hear that Annette. There is no evidence that HRT causes weight gain but menopause definitely does. Also, as we age our metabolism changes and so some women associate this and the weight gain with HRT but there are plenty of women who feel so much better on HRT that they are able to be more active and keep themselves fit and healthier.

Thankyou. I have asked my doctor for a vaginal examination to see how I look down below but he says I don’t need one ! I feel like I’m sitting on a lump . Doctor says to use Vaseline fairly thickly which I do but not getting rid of symptoms. Can you explain why I feel I’m sitting on a lump & will the estrogen pessories get rid of it please . Thankyou for answering me . I’m getting know where with my doctor.( have spoken to 4 different doctors) x

Vasaline is actually not very good for VA and makes it worse often. You may have a prolapse and vaginal oestrogen will help to a degree but it sounds like you do need an examination so please go back to your GP; insist on a vaginal examination and if they refuse, insist on a referral to menopause clinic.

Hi . I’m 72years old . My doctor has given me oestrogen pessories for burning. I have used it for one week every night & then twice a week. I’m on my 7th week but still very uncomfortable. Please help me .

Hi Dorothy. You can ask your GP to add ovestin cream to the vagifem. You can use this up to 3x a week and this often works better than the pessary because it can be used both internally and around the outside. It can be used in addition to the vagifem and if your GP is not sure please ask them to speak to someone at gynae. This is a debilitating condition and if not treated fully can lead to UTI's and even sepsis.

Hi. I don't recall if she mentioned "VFit Plus." It emits near infrared & red light therapy that you can use on the inside & outside. This is the only thing that has helped me.
You can get it online or you can also get this treatment through a doc, it's called "ThermiVa", but this runs about $3,000 for three (30) mins sessions & it lasts about a yr.
For those on a budget like me, I bought "Vfit Plus" online for about $400. Use it approx 3 times a week, (15 - 20) mins sessions. I've had mine about 4 years & it's helped me so much! Look up their reviews online. Hope this helps...
