    i raced sports cars successfully for years Now I just do track days in a McLaren, a Corvette and have started track days (non-racing ) in a new Porsche 992 Turbo S Lightweight with the OEM CC brakes
    I replaced the McLaren' 600LT's CC brakes with iron immediately .A track day for a quick pace driver with this car and CC brakes can run over $2,000 in pad and rotor wear at a track like Laguna Seca Monterrey California with its 3 hard -braking zones . In reality the car stops fine with the iron brakes. The 2019 Corvette GS has stock iron brakes. Its stopping power is remarkable / seems better than the McLaren. The CC rotors on McLaren wear quickly even with aftermarket pads.
    CC brakes stop poorly when cold on the street. Can actually be scary .
    The good is virtually no pesky brake dust and can easily last longer than you might own the car

    So many wrong info in there I could not list down here. Mix up of carbon-carbon and carbon-ceramic discs. Refer to Essex USA article on 3 different types of discs for clear info.

    i bought max carbon ceramic pads for my car but they were not very expensive and this video making it look like its very special and super expensive. did i buy something fake?

      Those are just the brake pads, they work better than normal cheaper brakes but you are still using a traditional brake set-up biting down on steel rotors. True carbon ceramic brakes are around a $10k upgrade and use ceramic rotors that are very strong and heat resistant.

      @@Yukikazehalo i got the slotted and drilled rotors with the pads. they perform really amazing. but definitely the rotors are not carbon. not for the price i paid. it had black coating which melted away as soon as i drove.

      @@droy7101 I suggest swapping your brake set up. what brand is it? most performance and good brands won't add paint to their discs.

      @@Ray-no9sj it is max brakes. it said on the box its e coated to prevent from rusting. I am still using them. feels really nice and smooth.

      @@droy7101 ok that's good then. just make sure the disk is not showing cracks or usual wear and tear. I know a couple of people who bought smaller brands and ended up almost in crashes. be careful, I'm sure if anything is going wrong would would feel or see it👍

    The F1 car has carbon-carbon brakes, not carbon-ceramic. besides that nice video.

    i dont understand why steel brakes become better for daily cars if booth became with abs system

    • @samradke4388
      @samradke4388 3 роки тому

      i think abs is for when you slam on the brakes. it makes sure that your tires dont lose traction as it helps to slow the car down faster as opposed to skidding to a stop

      Because steel disk brakes cost between 30-300$ each while carbon ceramic cost around 8500$ each

      You can buy them, but they are not easy to find and very expensive. Try asking at a car dealer which sells performance cars
