Count Swagula it's no secret why Cortana's going rampant in Halo 4. she's surpassed her 7 year expected lifespan. That's been in the lore literally since 2001
Well technically, in old Halo lore (pre-343), Cortana was indeed corrupted by the Gravemind briefly, but thanks to Master Chief, she recovered from it and achieved meta stability. However, that last bit was retconned by 343 to make Halo 4's story make sense. That being said, an alternative fact for why Cortana went rampant again could be simply that even though she recovered in Halo 3, Master Chief's careless handling of her ship and not safely ejecting, caused her to get corrupted again and degrade over time.

Rant!!! "Skip to last paragraph for the general gist." Too be honest. I did, but I bought (mum bought it ;) ) the Xbox 360 original. The one prone to the RRoD "Red Ring of Death" and lasted right from 2005 to late 2011-2012, can't remember but it died. If I had an Xbox I would just play halo. But none of the 343 games, they ruined it for me. It's just something about them that puts me off. Off track here. I would play if I had an Xbox. PS halo reach was my favorite.
In Halo 3, they were actually working on real-time reflections, which would've been neat but too demanding for such a minor detail. It would've been a neat touch though, but it looks too bright without some kind of specific setting. Here's some footage from a beta if anyone's curious: ua-cam.com/video/nWvr7xk_Cnw/v-deo.html
At the end of 'The Ark' the Brute Chieftain actually goads you into following him to a circle where you have an honorable dual. The brutes around the circle will not interfere and will just stand there and cheer. I didn't know this for the longest time because it is really easy to miss the Chieftain goading you because you are fighting. And they give you an invisibility item so I would always use invisibility, rush out, and backstab the guy. I assumed everyone was just waiting around like normal due to me being invisible.... not waiting around dramatically for an honorable duel.
armor rainbow wagon YOU SAVED MY DAY!!!! ive been pissed since the video creator not only told me shit i already knew, but thinks high charity in halo 3 IS SOMETHING ELSE, which then begs the question why the fuck is Cortana there? So ive been pissed off trying to explain to people THAT IT IS HIGH CHARITY, and not only do you already know that because you have a brain, but your also the only person to tell me something i didnt know! Thats fucking awesome i gotta look for that now! its the moselium of the arbiter???? that explains why its so big!
Some Guy OMG learn how to comprehend English! I've seen you try to spread your bs here because you don't know how to comprehend English. NOWHERE in the video did he say this wasn't high charity. You're so stupid, I can't fathom how you could be so stupid and try to spread your stupidity even further.
@ 7:20 He doesn't put Cortana's chip into his helmet- it goes through his helmet and into his brain. She actually occupies a space of his brain- in lore, this improves both of their combat and passive efficiencies tremendously. Chief was able to deflect a tank shell with his bare hand, quite literally smacking it away.
At 7:30, chief's arm clips so bad, he shouldn't be able to bend it like that. 10:30, the ODSTs not only have different weapons, but marines appeared out of nowhere and the arbiter changed sides.
Antonio Banderas he was. otherwise #4 would be gone, considering the room isnt a remake of high charity's inner sanctum, it IS HIGH CHARITY AND IT IS THE INNER SANCTUM. The fucking level TAKES PLACE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS HALO 2. THERES ONLY 1 HIGH CHARITY AND ONLY 1 CORTANA DUMBASS
In Halo 2, it was maybe 6-7 years ago maybe more, I played the mission Oracle. Before you enter the Elevator in the start of the mission you must kill some flood. Bring an flood outside the elevator, kill him and destory the body. Take your energy sword and punch one of the arms many, many times. When correctly, the arm will make flood sounds and it will move !! But I dont know if it works on mcc.
Lengthy explanations of some of these things: #12 - That's just a cubemap, which are very common in 3d games as they're much easier to render than actual reflections. A modder was able to enable realtime reflections on visors, but it was a little glitchy and required a specific helmet to be used. It's likely that realtime visor reflections were scrapped due to performance reasons, as the Xbox 360 is surprisingly weak and not much was known about optimization for it during Halo 3's development. #10 & #9 - Again, it's something quite common in 3d games. When things happen off screen, where a player isn't really intended to see, there's really no need to fully animate everything. This is also why the marine in #9 holds the flamethrower wrong, as the particle effects are the only thing the player is supposed to see. #8 - That's actually a weird glitch caused by the way the game handles ragdolls. When something dies in Halo 3, the corpse is not actually the thing that died, but rather a completely separate object (a ragdoll in most cases) with certain things inherited. In the case of the flood elite, the developers likely forgot to make sure that the flood elite ragdoll inherits the color of the flood. #6 - Another weird glitch, with the way the game renders things this time! The lights use billboard sprites, which can be pretty wonky to work with. Due to this, some developers opt to simply disable the z-buffer/depth checking stuff for certain sprites, which results in them being drawn on top of everything. This is likely what happened with the lights seen there! #5 - You see, Master Chief never passed preschool... Learning how to fit the correct shapes into holes with the correct angle is something he has never learned, so please, don't make fun of him! Be nice to him!
Indeed. It's quite likely that the devs could've completely forgotten about the unused feature entirely, though it's also possible that it remained scrapped due to time constraints.
deathride58 I feel like it's a simple option to enable like anti aliasing. It was there and active in the Halo 3 beta in fact. It probably was just forgotten since there are a bunch of other issues with Halo 3 on the MCC.
Ah, the old 'Phantoms crashing as they leave' glitch. I remember on the first Arbiter mission in Halo 2, if you run to the edge after getting dropped off and zooming in, you can watch them crash into each other xD
The Sniper Rifle has a green thermal vision you can see enemy's and structures through You can Ghost Merge (Which is where you are in forge, and you press "up" on the D pad while turning into the forgeball to basically glitch the menu to come up while you're in spartan mode, and you can merge objects into walls and whatnot. Trick Jumping is an obtainable skill you can practice in order to get places others can't unless they also practiced. People that play on bumper jumper get an upper hand on anyone they play against because this allows you to jump, aim and melee simultaneously while you can not do so on other controls.
Master chief collection was a broken game. Halo 3 was the most popular game for years in xbox, an anniversary would make it in the spot light again. Most fans want an anniversary
I have passed that mother fucking boat and tried to get onto that bitch for almost ten years and never realized it looked like chiefs helmet. My mind is blown.
There is a way to get inside the boat, and I think there is a cool little poster in there with a pirates face or something on it. It's not very detailed though.
This was cool. I knew most of this, but not all. Those last few were really cool. Considering how many times I've beaten this game I'm surprised I've never noticed them. It's really interesting.
The ghosts thermal vision is actually taken from the viewers perspective. Notice in the video you can see it change from when the camera man is above and behind said ghost ( showing ground panel in forerunner tunnel ) to when he's over the shoulder of the pilot showing the sword hilt and shoulder. At least that's how I observe it and I think that's how it works 😅
Your first entry should be revised my friend as Halo (all) now features real time reflections on all reflective surfaces on the Series X. However, I did know that none of the games featured reflections at launch. The Xbox 360 does not have the kind of resources needed to implement this. I was also aware of the Ghost vision as well. The S7 sniper rifle also has a similar effect. The Marine that turned into a Flood variant was likely changed by spores. This Flood infection is also an airborne pathogen. Fun Fact: During the cutscene with Master Chief in a Pelican with ODST (weapon changes part) you can see him holding an S7 rifle. If you look closely at said rifle you will see a glaring problem with it. It appears the barrel has been sealed or filled in with something. If the Master Chief were to fire that rifle in the condition it is in...he would likely die. The rifle would explode killing anyone within his immediate vicinity.
in the mission "the covenant", after you kill the prophet, there are two brute flood forms that jump on top of the control panel thing, but once the cutscene is over and you are able to play, they turn into elite flood forms
Actually, the reason the MC puts Cortana'a chip in sideways is probably due to the helmet not being long enough to fit the chip in in. Because if you had to make room for a chip that big and it's port in the back of a helmet, it would take up a lot of space and would be easier to put it in the helmet sideways. Though I forget if he's ever put the chip in a different way.
TheAgentTexas I hope your also joking. Read the comments or play Halo 2 and 3. It isnt a remake. Halo 2's High Charity takes place on High Chairty. Halo 3's Cortana takes place on High Charity. You left Cortana in the inner sanctum. You get her back there. It isn't a remake ITS THE SAME FUCKING ROOM!!!!!!' DUHHHHHH
In case no one else noticed; on the covenant where the 2 scarabs come in and the 2 hornets land if you ride the hornet instead of piloting the marine will pilot and fly you to one scarab and land on it where you can jump off and destroy it, then before it blows the marine will fly back to pick you up and do the same with the other one
Number 2 is funny because it's so true. On the first mission you play as the arbiter on halo 2, if you watch the phantoms, the just fly into the end of the map and then fly at the very bottom and sometimes start spinning. It's funny as hell to watch
The location of the "Cortana" mission is High Charity which is were you previously escaped from and left Cortana in Halo 2. You know, it's that giant dome city. Since the flood's arrival, they had already started expanding their biomass up until you get there in the mission Cortana. Obviously you really can't tell where you are because the flood had expanded and spread everywhere. It's not really an easter egg. You wouldn't "noticed" it, if you hadn't played Halo 2. Besides, you were looking at the anniversary version of that location, and not the original version.
Not sure how known it is, but I always loved stealing the anti-air wraiths! It was quite complicated, you needed to board it, break the hatch, then stand behind the driver and headshot him the same time as you hold the enter key. Also if you break out the dlc map with the satelites, you can find a developer on a building.
the real reason cortana get A.I rampancy cheif: Dam why does this not fit! Cortana: I-I-I T-T-Think-k-k-k i-i-i-t-s t-t-t-the w-w-w-wong w-w-way C-c-c-c-heif [breaking sound] cheif: Ah, there it fits now.
speaking of marine dying from nothing, in halo 2 the gunnery sergeant from the first level doesnt even die from the elites, i was using almost all skulls including explosion and scarab skulls and i think i knocked him behind a wall before i entered the room then when i walked in he just randomly died
The One About The SD Cortana Chip, it kinda does not make sense to say it went in the wrong way when halo takes place in a future timezone, meaning that the technology could be different.
After the self-infecting marine, in that building, when you kill the flood, all of their arms just roll around the floor until they hit a wall. Hundreds of twitching arms rolling.

Too be honest.
How did you never play Halo 2 and then say Halo CE is the worst? Casual...
Wait, did it come off as I said I hate CE? No I loved CE, had a crack on the school laptops. Used to play LAN with people at lunch.
great work man, that took alot of time and gameplay to figure all this out. much respect for all that dedication keep it up!
I like how the third odst is replace with marines and two are magically next to you xD

For the Cortana room remake ~ The mission Cortana in Halo 3 takes place on the same ship as the mission in Halo 2. High Charity is the ship's name.
in Halo 2, arbiter have anus, THIS IS NOT A JOKE, IM SERIOUS
ARBITER HAVE ANUS?
you mean he wants anus.
WAM ANUS
Probably posted by a modder on April fools day
slayer157536 Nope its true look up gamecheat13 he does have one
I don't get why people dislike, you took the time to show us these things. Good video!
the halo 2 room is teh same one as the halo 3 room because their both on high charity
In Halo 3, they were actually working on real-time reflections, which would've been neat but too demanding for such a minor detail. It would've been a neat touch though, but it looks too bright without some kind of specific setting. Here's some footage from a beta if anyone's curious:
ua-cam.com/video/nWvr7xk_Cnw/v-deo.html
I mean, chief always shoves Cortana into his helmet, and sometimes misses
At the end of 'The Ark' the Brute Chieftain actually goads you into following him to a circle where you have an honorable dual. The brutes around the circle will not interfere and will just stand there and cheer.
I didn't know this for the longest time because it is really easy to miss the Chieftain goading you because you are fighting. And they give you an invisibility item so I would always use invisibility, rush out, and backstab the guy. I assumed everyone was just waiting around like normal due to me being invisible.... not waiting around dramatically for an honorable duel.
This is the first time I watch a video when it just got out.
me too
I want H3A simply to see the cutscenes remastered by Blur, and so that I can play Halo 3 on XB1 separate from the glitchy MCC! :D
What you don't get is on cortana your in high charity and the flood infect high charity in halo2
M4xb0x 360 did you know that on that mission. where you find the pelican out side the map is the moselium.
armor rainbow wagon YOU SAVED MY DAY!!!! ive been pissed since the video creator not only told me shit i already knew, but thinks high charity in halo 3 IS SOMETHING ELSE, which then begs the question why the fuck is Cortana there?
It's stupid people logic. Don't try to understand it.
armor rainbow wagon the one that the flood use to get on high charity is the one you escape high charity with cool
@ 7:20
He doesn't put Cortana's chip into his helmet- it goes through his helmet and into his brain. She actually occupies a space of his brain- in lore, this improves both of their combat and passive efficiencies tremendously.
Chief was able to deflect a tank shell with his bare hand, quite literally smacking it away.
did you notice the video's length of 14:07? 14 and 7 are multiples of 7
That observation is even more pointless of how he explained how chief inserted cortanas chip wrong.
Fastest brute promotion in history
At 7:30, chief's arm clips so bad, he shouldn't be able to bend it like that.
10:30, the ODSTs not only have different weapons, but marines appeared out of nowhere and the arbiter changed sides.
No Arbiter was stood up, then next he's sat down
This was the game that got me hooked to gaming. I don't play games anymore but thanks for the video.
As much as I learned from this.. boy it felt cringy like you were awkwardly reading a script
FantasyBattlesArena wtf
FantasyBattlesArena He is right though. Its not a remake. Its the same fucking room
I think he did good . No fake persona crap many UA-camrs do
Some Guy still a remake moron. He didn't say it was a different station whatsoever. So you're arguing a faulty point
that movie maker tho 😎😂
the room with cortana looks like the prophets private room because it is supposed to be the same room, ya silly one
For #4, thats because youre on high charity
i get very nostalgic over halo 3 that i begin to get teary eyed
7:15 No wonder Cortana went crazy
EDIT: You beat me to it
I know the feeling, thinking of a great joke then realising it's already been taken haha
Lengthy explanations of some of these things:
#12 - That's just a cubemap, which are very common in 3d games as they're much easier to render than actual reflections.
You'd think they'd have enabled real time reflections on the master chief collection though. The Xbox One is certainly capable of handling that.
It's in da future and it can be sideways just sayin
Ah, the old 'Phantoms crashing as they leave' glitch. I remember on the first Arbiter mission in Halo 2, if you run to the edge after getting dropped off and zooming in, you can watch them crash into each other xD
Hi
Kirbylight 2 hi
Hi
Kirbylight 2 Hello.
Greetings fellow mortal.
Kirbylight 2 hello
I didn't get around to watching this, an ad for The Mummy took up almost 2:30 of this time and I got hooked. Now I'm off to the movie thearter.
Can you do more halo 1, Halo 4, or halo 5 videos.
Agreed but without the 4 and 5.
I dont think fish have those, even if they do, it would be really really small.
I would prefer some Reach vids instead.
TheAgentTexas, I liked Halo 4. The only thing I liked was that there was a light machine gun, and you can fly the Pelican.
That was pretty fun, but the story kinda sucked. And the multiplayer kinda sucked.
The Sniper Rifle has a green thermal vision you can see enemy's and structures through
You can Ghost Merge (Which is where you are in forge, and you press "up" on the D pad while turning into the forgeball to basically glitch the menu to come up while you're in spartan mode, and you can merge objects into walls and whatnot.
Trick Jumping is an obtainable skill you can practice in order to get places others can't unless they also practiced.
People that play on bumper jumper get an upper hand on anyone they play against because this allows you to jump, aim and melee simultaneously while you can not do so on other controls.
If there was a halo 3 anniversary, I would be pissed. Its already on mcc, we don't need it in another game.
Master chief collection was a broken game. Halo 3 was the most popular game for years in xbox, an anniversary would make it in the spot light again. Most fans want an anniversary
jake vuckturd anniversary is not the same as halo 3 running at 60fps
Rhys Nichols I wouldn't buy it. I played it on 360 and on mcc. I've had the halo 3 experience already
jake vuckturd Stfu we need more halo
Good Night Sure I can agree with that. Just not halo 3 for the third time.
I have passed that mother fucking boat and tried to get onto that bitch for almost ten years and never realized it looked like chiefs helmet. My mind is blown.
There is a way to get inside the boat, and I think there is a cool little poster in there with a pirates face or something on it. It's not very detailed though.
I miss halo 3 so much best time of my life
10 years later and people are still making Halo 3 videos. That has to say something about the greatness of This game.
Well..
It's because IT IS a great game, bro!
Halo 3 was a legendary game and still is. I still play it to this day on the Xbox One.
this guy deserves more recognition for sure
Halo 3 is one of the only games I played as a kid, it was a really good game and I hope to get the remake of it if/when it comes out
I love how when Master Chief puts the AI chip in his helmet, there's never a slot for it. He just shoves that shit in there and it disappears 😂😂
The cortana chip made me laugh so much.
That cortana room blew my mind. Made me pretty happy.
It isn't a remake
ITS THE SAME FUCKING ROOM!!!!!!' DUHHHHHH
Oh I know, I just never realized that they where the same room. Thats what blew my mind.
Kid, CALM THE FUCK DOWN!!!! He made a mistake we all make mistakes. Who cares? Just point it out and move on.
i knew 3 of these, good video
Great video buddy, keep it up!
5:41 I cant believe in 10 years I never noticed that
I've always saw the "thermal vision." That's how you see. The ghost is too big for you to see over it.
Not sure how known it is, but I always loved stealing the anti-air wraiths!
It was quite complicated, you needed to board it, break the hatch, then stand behind the driver and headshot him the same time as you hold the enter key.
Also if you break out the dlc map with the satelites, you can find a developer on a building.
suddenshotty stealing the AA is easy
7:30 he doesn’t even put the chip into anything on his helmet, he just mashes it into the metal on the back and it disappears like magic
the real reason cortana get A.I rampancy
cheif: Dam why does this not fit!
Cortana: I-I-I T-T-Think-k-k-k i-i-i-t-s t-t-t-the w-w-w-wong w-w-way C-c-c-c-heif
[breaking sound]
cheif: Ah, there it fits now.
Looks like a Ghost just blinked at the Master Chief and probably was signaling Master Chief good luck, Guardian.
General Heed needs more than 100k subscribers
Nice, only knew 2 of these, #3 & #1
speaking of marine dying from nothing, in halo 2 the gunnery sergeant from the first level doesnt even die from the elites, i was using almost all skulls including explosion and scarab skulls and i think i knocked him behind a wall before i entered the room then when i walked in he just randomly died
Ya know? Another thing I never noticed before?
A normal human holding the flamethrower is absolutely absurd looking...
The thing with the Ghost Thermal Vision was one thing i noticed and in ODST a Marine says: Ghosts! They gonna see me
I will never forget halo 3 I grew up playing Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST & Reach those were the best Halo games my opioin BTW love your channel bro.
The One About The SD Cortana Chip, it kinda does not make sense to say it went in the wrong way when halo takes place in a future timezone, meaning that the technology could be different.
The boat looks more like Leia's outfit when she went to save Han.
Generalkidd for number 10, he inhaled too many flood spores most likely since the air is contaminated as well
After the self-infecting marine, in that building, when you kill the flood, all of their arms just roll around the floor until they hit a wall. Hundreds of twitching arms rolling.
