Yess it was...the year I graduated from high school!!!
But this song came out in 1988...because I remember my first office job was in '88 and my boss loved Taylor Dane and this song was big.

Taylor was a dope chick!
She was one of my favorites in the middle 80s. We danced at the clubs everytime she came on. I remember Animal House at Killeen, TX. We had so much fun just dancing. Most of us didn't drink and even if someone had one drink it was no big deal. The music, the crowd, the vibe, and dancing was our high!
This came out in 1984. The year I met my husband. We got married in 1986 and still together.

Well of course it would give you '80s vibes, because, at least according to Wikipedia, it was officially released to radio in October 1987. However, that was early in my fifth grade school year, and I'm willing to swear on a stack of Bibles that I heard it in the latter part of being in fourth grade, which would have meant spring of 1987. Either way, this bangs even still today.
