    Appreciate the review and demo! Glad you’re happy with it. I ordered one of these a couple of days ago, so it was great to see it in action and get your perspective after owning one for a year. Thanks for taking the time to share.

      I’m glad it helped! I just used it again over the weekend when we got about a foot of snow. I didn’t let the snow get that deep, but it still worked great every time I used it!

    Bought the 1024 and first run the wheel popped off.
    Lost the linch pin somewhere in the snow. Replaced it with a nail until I could get to the store to buy a new one
    Other than that it seems like an OK blower. Not the strongest by any means but one of the only gas powered ones I could find.
    Most of them are the little battery ones that don't do squat.

      Everything is moving to battery now…and I hate it.

    Well I just bought the new light model. I guess this year I will find out if this 2 stage can handle 12 inches. Do you think I should have got the 250cc instead of the 208??

    • @MyDIYAdventures
      @MyDIYAdventures  3 роки тому

      Well, I would assume the 250 would perform better, but I guess that doesn’t mean the 208 won’t do what ya need it to. Luckily I haven’t had much snow since I bought this one, so I haven’t over worked it.

    I’ve had mine for three seasons, and honestly I’ve had issues each year. This season I had a loose belt, last season the engagement cable snapped and the first season I was losing shear pins left and right. It’s working good now and got me through the December blizzard. I live in W. Michigan and we get some heavy lake effect snows. I wish I had spent a little more for a machine with a more powerful engine, but fingers crossed it gets me through the year. I was hoping not to have to buy a new one for another 10 yrs, but I can’t see that happening.

      Haven’t had to use mine yet this year, I hope it’s still good!

    I have the same issue with the cable being slack and not engaging the drive. Fixed it once already. Worked for a little while but the problem is back. Very annoying. Design flaw.

    A got one like this that's about a year old too. Now it won't throw the snow very far (3-4'), turns out my auger belt is loose on the pulley. I'll have to tight the tensioner pulley and that should fix the issue. It's "just ok" for the price but it's definitely not want I want to keep for the next 10-15 years. I'll bite the bullet on an Ariens instead.

      @MyDIYAdventures  3 роки тому

      Yeah, there are definitely better ones out there, but this one has done well for me so far. This will be its third winter, luckily we only get a couple big snowfalls here every year, so it doesn’t get abused.

    How to you start the blower properly? Instructions were not very good that came with it. Lowes put it together for me.

      @@MyDIYAdventures Um..Choke on (CCW), Fuel on, ignition on. Prime it (TWICE ONLY OR IT WILL FLOOD) < pull the rope or plug it in and push the button. It will go. Promise.
      I used to assemble these things and actually own one, so happy to help.

      I’m happy with the purchase! 20+ years of not owning one, I’m glad I finally took the leap! According to the news, we’re currently buried under a record amount of snow I guess.

    I have a Briggs and Stratton s1227. It’s the biggest piece of garbage I’ve ever bought. The second the cutting edge or blower housing touches more than 1/8” of snow it quits moving. Both drive wheels just sit there and spin. It’s a piece of trash. It would work great where there’s no snow and you just want to drive it around.

    Yeah that’s ok, don’t bother to wipe up the half a cup of fuel you spilled all over the top of the gas tank. You should go get one of those dumb dumb proof gas cans!
