Steep Review - The Final Verdict

- Despite its glitches and uncomfortable control scheme, there is a lot of fun to be had in Steep. The sense of racing down the mountain and competing with other players is second to none. Pulling off insane and over the top moves is a lot of fun and the games encourages you to participate in a plethora of actives set across this massive open world. If anything, Ubisoft’s Steep scratched the SSX itch.

It seem's like this review was done only after like 3 hours of playing.
I have no sorts of input lag, it is just tricky to get the timing right. Its a skill based game in where some paths , levels or challenges feel impossible at the beginning but get easier the better you get .The gameplay shown here looks a bit awkward
Marc Liebler people dont realise that u kinda do the trick before its begun in real life, u dont just see a guy jump up the all the sudden spin or do a backflip, theres a prep for the trick. Hopefully u get what i mean
Snow physics look on point though
They nailed the color.
i actually really like the mountain talking stories, doesn't feel out of place or need an explanation imo
Jordan Mills yea that was a level of game detail I was not expecting. I love the game but it’s basically lacking a story aside from the awesome talking mountains. Really just a beautiful underrated game.

Comparing Steep to SSX is like comparing Skate to Tony Hawk. While both are skateboarding, they are entirely different games. Might as well compare Ridge Racer to Gran Turismo. They are both car games, right? ;-) Nice review, though. Never had any issues with the controls after playing it for hours since launch. Absolutely love it myself, though it's not for everyone.
SSX is great, Steep is trash. End of comparison. SSX is FUN. Steep is like eating soup with a fork.
This game took me way too long to buy, that’s my review.
I just bought this today for $15. I tried the demo a few months ago and had some fun with it, but I wasn't going to pay $60 for it. I'm glad Ubisoft are making different kind of games and not just the boring shooter every year.
It’s Ubisoft. Bugs glitches and issues are part and parcel of their games. I’m interested in Steep but only once the game has been out long enough for the worst of them to be addressed
The skiing looks super awkward
Johnny Waffles the skiing is the best for me, I use it for score and use he snowboarding for speed

I wise I saw this before spending 16 bucks but I just got it and gold was 16 not 50 lol. But your review is seriously honest and educated. I literally found this because I came across most of the same issues and complaints. De to the frustration I looked up reviews. So it's not me sucking it's literally true for others. I also feel the same about the pros as well. Its actually fun to fuck around has a great concept and so much to do. It just needs a steep 2 to fix the bugs and take it even further with maybe snowmobiles and being able to pull ppl on them on any ground sport. Even parasailing with a snowmobile lol.but the glitches all that is them rushing l, they take their time they'll have better movement and better world interaction. Other wise its fun

ugh.. I liked the feel of the trailers, very minimalist and natural. Calm or exciting but always natural. Now I'm seeing cheesy red bull ads and this overbearing UI filled with boxes upon boxes and this crappy dotted line. No thank you, does anyone know if this stuff can be turned off? dialed down?
Corey Knight there is a no hud mode, and the free roam is perfect for the “play while ur high” feeling.

I kind of didn't feel that this game was worth $60, but I just went to Target and they were having a Buy 1 get 1 free sale, so I got it for free. I feel it's worth that price
It's free on psn and I'm still not sure it's even worth the download time tbh
This game does not feel right. It's like you're boarding/skiing on blue tack

meh. my ssx itch is not scratched. steep was supposed to be so great, I played both the closed and open beta - have not bought the game after release. i wanted it to be so much more
ssx was an arcade racer this is more for 1080 fans I'd say. It's really polished now

I played the beta and experienced none of the glitches that they did
what starts out as a normal review falls down to nit pick terrain by complaing about the mountain telling the stories.

don't take your games as serious as this reviewer would claim you should.
Absolute trash. Terrible design with the worst controls I've encountered in any game. The steering is beyond bad, level design is good but the obstacles and hitboxes are dreadful. Your brakes do nothing, the menu is useless whilst the mountain map is the most infuriating thing in game history. The zoom in/out is a joke, the load times akin to c64 tape drives. Avoid
dont look at steep as if it is zelda or those kind of story mode, try thinking of it as skate 3 those kind of trick game
although there is like partially story(?) in the game

Do have to keep in mind it's been out since 2016 apparently. People move on to other online games about every year even if they sell millions of copies for franchises. It's free off psn now and that's the only reason I'm here

Yea, however I would say it's fair to say my opinion isn't valid cause I only played the beta, but at the same time I'd say it's fair cause I played both beta, and played at least 2 hours on both. I find the games controls clunky and I find the physics very bad and really heavy, I also find the events to do in the game boring and I really don't even know what to do half the time. if people like the game that's fine, but in my own experience I really didn't enjoy the game
I also play the beta and I like it but only worth 40$ in my opinion
