Yesss! Coming along nicely. I notice the app store features list includes a Ghost note feature, but I couldnt see anything immediately in the manual. Did I miss something or is that feature “coming soon” ?
Hi Paul, I'm leaving this comment on all your Helium vids as I'd like you to read this and make a couple of IMPORTANT fixes! I just purchased Helium today (after some issues where Atom2 wasn't a good fit.) I have a song that is a swung 3/4. It's annoying that Helium doesn't have swing (I knew that before buying) but thought I'd just record my parts without quantisation. But it seems quantisation can't be defeated. And there is no quantisation value that will play my rhythm correctly, So helium is useless for this song! Helium needs swing. but it DESPERATELY needs a way to record with quantisation of required! Hope you read this and make a few tweaks! THANKS!
To celebrate the release/purchase of this today, I’m going to finally also get the long put off Chameleon as well as Lyricist which will bring my arsenal of 4pockets apps to 17 ! Yippy-yi-yay
If Groove Monkee MIDI files are in standard GM format you can simply pick a GM compatible drumkit in DihiStix 2. It is a simple case to create drum patterns in Helium for use with standard kits mind you.

@@Bill_Saunders_Music If you want to program the traditional (none GM) kits within Helium, TAP and HOLD the 'Grid' button and select the DigiStix Drums option.
@@PaultheMusicMan I’ve contacted Groove Monkee and asked if they could map their loops to the DigiStix kits (i have them working perfectly with the GM kits). Groove Monkee say they would need the kit mapping. Is this something you could share Paul? Thanks.
@@Bill_Saunders_Music Since GM (General MIDI) is a standard kit layout, I used this with new kits added to DS2, so I'm not really sure why we need Groove Monkey to conform to my old standard. It is easier to simply to pop DS2 into GM mode isn't it, that's why it was added? What are you trying to achieve Bill?
I think there’s a bug when you load a saved session. If you move the midi notes in the timeline (I used the first bar as a count in during recording and wanted to get rid of it), you lose the sync in AUM and you have to close and restart Helium.
When you say loose sync, do you mean the 'Sync' setting is not retained? I tried recording a few bars using the first bar as a count in,, then dragged everything back to bar 0 and saved with sync enabled. I then loaded the session and all was fine, so I'm guessing you did something slightly different or my version is working as it should. There is a new version I am releasing today so please test this one and let me know if it is still outstanding.
@@PaultheMusicMan The sync setting is retained, but it doesn’t follow AUM anymore. I loaded the saved session and dragged everything back to bar 0 after reloading. Then this problem occurred. The problem seems to occur when you move the clips in a loaded session. Sometimes the transport bar moves, but you loose contact with the sound source app (in my case Ravenscroft ) and don’t hear anything.
@@campingbackofen7246 Does toggling Sync Off then back On again resolve the issue by any chance? I've just released the latest version, can you give that a test once it appears on your store. Also how are you moving the notes (dragging or copy/paste)? If problems persist can you record a short video and post it to paul at 4pockets.com?
@@PaultheMusicMan Hi, I tried the new version and now it seems do work (except once with Ravenscroft). I tested with different apps, with record armed and unarmed, dragging the clips back and forth. Great! One recommendation for a future feature: select all clips by double tapping the screen at an empty space.
Assuming your not one of those weird people trying to work on an iPhone you need to open the Media Bay (Files Icon), select the Songs tab (because that's where multi-channel MIDI files are stored) and select Export MIDI Song. Once it is saved there you can drag it to the Files App. I go over how this is done in the video on exporting files I believe.
@@PaultheMusicMan I’ve just done it thanks! I was unable to have helium as a split view but I kept holding onto the file and managed to Open the files app with my thumb! Brilliant app, and love Strummer too. Thanks for the super speedy reply 😊
i belive you and AUM developer should just create a company , share your codes and frameworks, iron out some bits and release AUMs next version.oh also bring in Atom 2 developer. the 3 of you could make something fantastic

Also would you consider additional UI colours something similar to Meteors ?
@@PaakoBravoo if you see a button with a triangle in the upper left corner that means you can long press for more options. If you TAP and HOLD the 'Undo' you will see there is a 'Redo' in the menu. I didn't think it as important and struggling for screen space. There is currently no transpose option, but I will add it to my list of future updates.
Yes, there isn't a scales option yet, but its on my list. Because I rely on drag and drop from the Media Bay it adds a few complications since normally you don't want restricted input for drag and drop. I need to come up with something that suits both those who construct using MIDI clips and those that want restriced input. That is if you are thinking about sale overlays for the keyboard and timeline?
Indeed, i want to or import chords, or step record them from suggester, but at the same time put a melody over (or beside) the chords in the same scale. Thanks for the fast reply
I guess you are not following this tutorial properly perhaps. Are you using the web browser method or trying to copy to the Helium folder? If you copied to the Helium/Clips folder then you need to run in standalone mode and pick the 'Import Clips & Songs' option from the Import Options icon. If you are using the Web Transfer option make sure you select 'MIDI Clips' prior to dropping the file into your web browser. Make sure the files are in .mid format!

First impression, sorry Paul but the colour scheme of the piano roll Sucks. I’m seeing black and a kinda grey blocks, which is ok but the grey blocks are corresponding to the black notes on a keyboard ie sharps and flats, where as they should be the colour for the white notes. This makes it very hard when notating in with fingers or a pencil because I keep getting sharps and flats when I’m wanting normal notes. Can you please put the black to sharps and flats and maybe make the grey a little more white to make it easier to see. Thanks.
Always someone complaining right? Try turning on the High Contrast option on the Menu. I try to cater for those people that are visually impared. Maybe this will help. The new additions to NuRack go live soom with the new MIDI Clock display... see how I bend over backwards to please only to be greated by these types of commments?
@@kentaccordionist Just so you know, I've added an invert colours option to the next version. FYI you will long press the Menu in the next version to change system settings (i.e. program wide settings). This is where you will configure the number of output ports and the high visibility from now on.

Hi Paul, can I hook helium up to DigiStix 2 and use Groove Monkee midi drum files? Can I assign the midi data to kick, snare, high hat etc?

I’m struggling to work out how to export a midi file on iOS? Trying to save it to files but can’t drag and drop, any ideas please?

Paul.... I am trying to move a folder of midi files to helium and even though I can move it there it does not show up in media bay?
