Gov. Walz lied about his military record for years! The NY Post reported on Walz' claiming he was in combat while talking to a Minn. gun group: *“We can research the impacts of gun violence. We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war, are only carried in war,”* But Walz was never deployed to a combat zone! Walz also lied about retiring a Command Sgt. Major. FOX interviewed one of Walz' fellow soldiers who was in Walz' unit and actually was a Command Sgt. Major - Thomas Behrends. He said Walz never completed the two-year program requirement and therefore is really a master sergeant! He said he and other Nat’l. Guard unit members are offended by Walz’ misrepresentation of his rank.

it's ironic that in walz's letter responding to charges of being misleading regarding his military service, he was dishonest and said he was a retired command sergeant major (2:45). he actually retired as a master sergeant.
What the public knows is that tampons Tim lied about his service. He dropped out of the service so he wouldn't have to go to Afghanistan. He abandoned his team.
actually he didnt want to go to iraq, his unit was supposed to go there in 2003 which is conveniently also when he "retired" to run for office, well you can run for office while also serving in the military, so what kind of a excuse is that
This is like John Kerry. When running for office locally, nobody cared enough to do the research and call him out on the lies. But when he went for the executive branch, the guys that WERE THERE at the time, said, "wait a minute, this guy is lying." Same thing is happening here. It will get the same results. Stop it! If Sargent Major Tim Walz served 24 years in the U.S. Army National Guard, that is about 24 more years than 98,7 percent of Americans can say. Many of our brave soldiers give their lives in training missions, having never engaged in a theater of war. They carried real weapons and faced real war scenarios aboard real Apache choppers. I am a veteran. I've deployed 3 times to combat zones. I don't like stolen valor. I've seen too many friends die, even holding one's hand as he took his last breath. When, for the purpose of political gain, you claim to have carried a weapon in war, not once, but several times, that's stolen valor and it is disgusting. When you claim you didn't know you were deploying when you retired, yet your own press release shows you knew you were deploying and never mentioned it, is almost as disgusting. When you claim to have held a rank that you never completed the requirements for, that is disgusting. When you retire and don't even bother to visit or tell the men under you before they are deployed to a combat zone, that is disgusting. When you have a pattern of lying about military service for political gain, it is disgusting and anyone who would support him or vote for him is equally disgusting.
@AudieHO I'm a US Marine Vet. I have a question for you. JD Vance served only 4 years in the mikitary and worked in Public Affairs and never worked in combat, infantry, artillery or had to shoot or kill anyone. Trump avoided the military by lying about a medical condition then have his daddy pay for his way of out of going overseas. Walz served 24 years, which is 6 times the length of JD & 24 years more than Trump. How can JD or Trump criticize Walz's military career? If you are going to ridicule Walz, then show the same criticism to non-serving Trump and 4 year Public Affairs cushion deskjob Vance. How did Walz steal valor? Since he served 24 years, how much credit or respect does he receive from you? Or do u only feel like the only military members who deserve respect are those who were deployed or in direct combat? If you had the power to control your military career, would you have chosen to go on 3 deployments or would you stayed here in the US, especially when you think about the fact that the war in Iraq was based on lies, just like Vietnam. Not everybody has the same military experience and I think we should be careful about judging one's service if you don't know the details nor the impact it had on the military member and/or his/her family. Not everybody sacrifice is the same. Did McCain steal valor as well? Do you think it's right for Trump to discredit his sacrifice? In order words, shut up unless you are going to treat Trump, Walz, & JD the same and treat them woth the same rules of thumb. Just because you were deployed 3 times dont make any more heroic..Ive known guys who were deployed 6 or more times. 3 deployments is nothing. See, did my last statement upset? If so, then thats exactly how your words hurt guys like Walz. Don't act superior just cause you've been deployed 3 times because there's been guys who've done much more, especially in the Marines or Navy Seals.

JD Vance never LIED about his military service. I never liked McCain because of his involvement with the Keating 5, but he never LIED about his military service. McCain said some pretty nasty things about Trump as well that were not true. However, none of them LIED about military service to advance their political career. Tim Walz has. Several times. I did not like McCain because of his involvement with the Keating 5, but he never LIED about his service. As far as Trump's remark about him, McCain said pretty nasty stuff to, and certainly did not need either of us to defend him. Tim Walz, on the other hand, not only lied multiple times about serving in a war zone, but he used it to obtain money for a political campaign. According to the Stolen Valor Act, that is stolen valor. Yes, I only deployed 3 times, but when I left the third time, part of my left leg remained behind and the Navy wouldn't let me deploy again. I've also had 5 bowel resections because of that third deployment, so please don't presume to lecture me on different experiences on deployment. Thing is, Walz has not made a single false statement about his service. If he served in Italy at the time, it was definitely in support of Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. Italy was one of the main logistics hubs and staging areas for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He definitely would have earned the Global War on Terrorism Medal as thousands have if they served in forward deployed areas in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Plus as retirements go, you would file that paperwork at least 12 months in advance of your separation date, and often up to 2 years prior. I would say he filed his paperwork in 2004 before he had any idea that his unit would deploy. He wasn't op held on a stop/loss, so WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE??

Trump avoided the military by lying about a medical condition then have his daddy pay for his way of out of going overseas. @Strollmanx He did earn it. You're assuming the military just hands you rank and you show what you can do with it. No you prove yourself in the job you're given in the military, that and with time in service gets you the promotion. Where at that point you are given more responsibility. And this guy talking is clearly jealous he didn't have a plan after serving, which is normally every military persons plan is to leave working in the civilian world with what you've gained from the military. Besides 24 years is way past the 20yr mark of retirement from any branch of service. Walz earned that retirement way before his time. It was also Walz right to retire. Also if the military wanted to they could have said no because they needed him but they didn't need him so they approved the retirement. It ain't right bashing on anyone's service anyway.
