Finances are low for James' new boiler and so a cause was made to donate for a new boiler to be built on a certain website.
Sean O' Connor from SIF and SI3D forums have started an Indegogo campaign to purchase the model of James the Red Engine that was used in the latter of the model era of the television series and to be put on display around the UK and US. Please note that SIF and The Star Tugs trust are not behind all this, this Sean O' Connor alone from Clearwater Entertainment.

During an engines overhaul it doesn't always need a new boiler building unless the boiler is beyond repairs OR it's cheaper just to build a new one. Most of the time the old one is just overhauled with new tubes, etc.
The boiler certificate only lasts 8 years for mainline workings, 10 years for preserved railways
Actualy it's 7 years for mainline use but can be extended to 10 years.

No plans for a remake unfortunetly. This was made at a time when a James prop was up for sale and was a way to get the fandom's attention into donating money so it can be purchased. It had been sold to someone else and the money had been placed towards the Star Tugs trust in 2014, although no one was notified about that until 2018.
@@NWR1991 that makes a lot of sense! And in all honesty I was kinda confused when I first saw this video for the first time, I thought it was a very elaborate ad but now that I fully understand the meaning then that makes it better!
I'm confused. In the United States, an engine needs the boiler tubes replaced and an ultrasound (among other tests) every 1472 days under pressure or 15 years (whichever comes first). Does the UK use 10 years? Also, don't they just do the tubes and such, rather than the whole boiler, unless the boiler was shot?
What I mean is that the new boiler will last ten years during the locomotives' running course until the ticket is expired which is when the locomotive is in need of servicing for a new one to be built.
Right, but the way that is being worded is making it sound as if every 10 years they need to completely replace the boiler. They can overhaul it if the boiler is found to be in decent shape. That does not require a new boiler.

Usually it is just the tubes that need replacing as long as the barrel and the tube-plates are in good condition. But everything wear out eventually such as inner firebox, firebox stays, tube-plates and eventually even the boiler barrel.

+Big Allan They are not slip coaches, they are auto coaches and since Oliver is an auto engine he is capable of going backwards without pulling from the other side because the coach leading is in control.

That won't ever happen due to HIT Entertainment being the owner of the brand! It happened before years ago with one user threating to charge his models and was approached by the company and all his content was gone by him.
NWR1991 Oh yeah I remember that. SI3D showed up just in time to keep Trainz Thomas alive. When one era ended; another began.

+SteamDreamProductions I've been considering releasing non-Thomas versions as payware - i.e. in proper railway liveries, nothing to do with Thomas at all.
