      I have really bad eczema and dry skin it’s okay to use on your face as well or only the body?

    • @hiddenmutant
      @hiddenmutant 13 днів тому +1

      @@whitneythomas42 the only real difference between body products and face products is that body tend to be a little richer/oilier and also are more likely to have fragrance. But realistically there's nothing stopping you from trying it on your face (spot test on your neck or jaw and give it 36-48 hours to see if it triggers anything before using it all over).
      For example, I use Weleda hand cream on my face, and it works great. I have fairly sensitive skin and the formulation just happens to not bother me. For some people, it's too rich and breaks them out.

      gonna sound so dumb: drink a gallon of water. i changed birth controls recently, so my hormonal acne is CRAZYYY. i’ve been drinking a gallon of water a day for 4 days and i can see it starting to clear up. also, find products that work with your skin, you wanna find your skin type and use products to match that. there’s also adalpeline (i spelt it wrong im sure) gel you can use ONLY on your zits, and it helps them go away, i recommended the laroche posay one when i worked in a dermatology office to everyone who had hormonal acne issues. also, invest in some sort of pimple patch, not for the sake of removing the patch, but to prevent you from wanting to touch the pimple and make your acne worse

      The dandruff shampoo she mentioned has Ketozone in it which can help slow down hormone based hair loss which may be what you are experiencing (I am no expert). In her videos that I have seen on hair loss she says to go to a dermatologist as quickly as possible once you notice hair loss and you often underestimate how much hair loss there is. If that is unaffordable for you then I’d still recommend trying to research online if you can get products you can get over the counter or if you need to see a gp to prescribe you something.

    • @A_Hale
      @A_Hale 2 місяці тому +8

      I’m in the exact boat as you! The nizoral shampoo that she showed in this video is what she suggest. Twice a week. Wet your scalp and let it sit for about 5-7 minutes. She also suggest minoxidil 5% (the men’s because the woman’s cost more). Since beginning the nizoral shampoo (which is ketakonazole 1%-it’s an androsterone blocker, andosterone caused hair loss, if I understood that properly) I have noticed a difference with how much hair I am losing each time I shampoo or brush. She does explain that once you start these, you have to continue, otherwise you will once again begin to have the same symptoms of hair loss.

      I understand your interest in food and its impact on skin health, but it's important to note that dermatologists specialize in skin disorders and treatments rather than nutrition. As much as I appreciate Dr. Idriss's content, she is not the right person to ask this.
      Even if a dermatologist were to offer dietary advice, it would likely lack substantial scientific backing. Here's why:
      1) Lack of Incentive for Research: Any research is expensive and requires funding. While research institutes and pharmaceutical companies fund studies regarding skin disease, studies on skin appearance and beauty are funded solely by the beauty industry, which primarily funds research that aligns with their product development goals. Since they profit from skincare products, there's little incentive to invest in studying the effects of food on skin appearance.
      2) Complexity of Research: Conducting rigorous studies on the effects of diet on skin appearance is incredibly challenging. Maintaining strict dietary controls among participants for a significant duration is difficult, and individual differences in genetics, gut microbiome, environment, and lifestyle further complicate the matter.
      3) Subjectivity of "beautiful skin": Beauty is subjective, making it challenging to measure scientifically. What one person considers beautiful skin may differ from another's perception.
      However, while direct evidence may be lacking, we can draw insights from research on overall health and longevity. Studies on blue zones, where people live longer and healthier lives, emphasize the importance of balanced nutrition and lifestyle habits. Here's what we can learn:
      - Prioritize whole foods like fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, lean proteins, and fiber.
      - Embrace social eating and physical activity.
      - Cultivate meaningful relationships and purposeful living.
      - Minimize stress and maintain a positive outlook on life.
      By focusing on these broader lifestyle factors, we can enhance overall health, which may indirectly contribute to skin health. Instead of fixating on "forbidden" foods, promoting a fearful and stressful relationship with our nutrition (which is not healthy for us) let's adopt a balanced approach that prioritizes enjoyment and nourishment.
      In essence, while specific dietary recommendations for achieving "beautiful skin" lack scientific support, embracing a holistic approach to health and wellness can benefit not only our skin but our overall well-being.
