I don't know if they changed something in the past year or what, but you cannot attack that curb in turn 1 and brake hard. The car is VERY unstable between turn 1 and 2. I have to get it UNDER 100 mph before I get to the curb to have any chance. I've tried many times and this simply does not work on the latest Oran.
Yeah they did change a few things. Check the video that's linked on the top right in the first seconds of this one, it's the updated version which features the current car and tire model. -> ua-cam.com/video/PQ58IL-gOWQ/v-deo.html
I was able to shave a second in the practice right after watching this vid. still in the mid 1:16, so still some more practice before race. thanks for these awesome guide!
Nice an update! Won first race of the week last night without any practice but race pace was way off my PB (low 1:15s...will need to watch this carefully and get into those 14s.) I love this track because the car always feels like it's sliding. Forest Dip and Momo corner are big fun. Momo corner is one of my favorites on any track you can carry so much more speed than you think. Coca-Cola corner consistency is hard to find and there's a half second difference there with only subtle changes. I'm very upset this track no longer exists in the real world as I think it would be high on my list of global tracks to get to IRL.
I'm not sure if you are missing the old times, but when you want to accuse me of cheating you should at least do it on a video which was driven on the current patch and features the car from the live build. ► ua-cam.com/video/PQ58IL-gOWQ/v-deo.html
@@crexLive Hay mate' I haven't accused you of anything and there was no reason for you to insult me either ' it's interesting that you went straight for an insult though that tells me a lot . I was merely pointing out I unfortunately do not have that amount of grip which from what I've seen and experienced over the last 30 years racing karts when anyone has more grip it's generally down to tyres and a little bit of set up. And don't go into learn to drive as that would just be another insult to my intelligence and I can only believe yours too.
I didn't insult anyone. You're free to point out that you don't have that amount of grip on your iRacing account, that it doesn't match your 30 years experience in racing karts and that people who have more grip generally tinker with their tires or setups. Whatever you want to imply with that is up to you. I'm not going to tell you that you need to learn how to drive, nor do I want to insult your intelligence. I never did that in the first place anyway. I was just merely pointing out that this lap was driven on a different build. It's a different car today which makes any comparison obsolete.

Thank crex, your tips are always great. Love the "downshift for uphill, not for downhill" advice, really helped me think.
Thanks as always Crex! You have shaved a lot off my times and saved me countless hours learning the new tracks. On month 2 of Iracing.
The definitive go-to guide, as usual. Well done.

After the Charlotte guide...I was always top 3 qualifying. Hope to do the same this week. Thanks a lot for your hard work.
That's impressive, good job!
Good job as always man ! Seems like the fixed mazda has changed quite a bit with the semi auto gearbox and whatnot.
Awesome guide, thank you!
Excellent tutorial’s as usual !
Great guide. Thanks :)
Much easier track than Roval for me. Never raced a Oran before and I'm at 1:15:9 after 25 laps. I think I can find 1sec...
this 1 sec is difficult to take, remember crexLive uses a setup not a fixed
Check the description, he uses the baseline setup. But yeah 1sec is a lot and I wont have much time this week so...
Good guide.. cant crack under 16.5 tho.. so annoying
Setup???
Baseline
Man I'd love to have that amount of grip on my iracing account
