I love the idea of small electric cars that are affordable. The range may not be huge, but for daily commutes in the city, they’re ideal and eco-friendly!
The fiat 500 with a 42kw battery and a 190 mile range was 30,000 euro, but is now sub that price in the UK . The 24kw and 124 mile range model was a lot cheaper, but is not sold anymore in the UK. How old is this Information.
BYD Seagull was just released in Brazil with the long range version only (38kw battery) for around 22k usd (with the crazy high Brazil taxes). Ranges around 350km with full charge and the same full charge costs 5 usd to charge at home as electricity here is very cheap. Got mine as I live in a big city, so far a very reliable and comfortable car.
Mitsubishi EK X EV (EK Cross EV) and Nissan Sakura from Japan are worth considering as they're spacious for their size with enough range to cover city/local commutes.
In the USA they seem to be glorified golf carts (the one with AC was nice though) and are locked at 25mph. Most of our rural roads are 30+ mph. These would only be good places that are set up to have golf carts and low speed vehicles like retirement communities.
Agree. None of these cars are affordable for me or anyone I know. I would like a pedal bike that had EV motor assist that would go at least 45 MPH and cost less than USD $10,000. Until those parameters are met, there isn't going to be much interest in EVs and Velomobiles, except in rural areas where people can slowly limp along semi-safely.
Don’t need 4 adult capacity. Need 2. Need room to haul normal stuff, bags, reasonable boxes. Need roof platform for occasional larger stuff. Need to be able to hose it out. No need for soft upholstery. Need 70 mph top speed for short blasts. Need 100km range at less than 40kmh. Need price at $5,000 US. Pick up version would be nice. Sounds like Korea mfg to me.
I drive a petrol Smart (my 3rd over 12 years) and so should be a loyal customer target, forget it, my petrol Smart does 400miles on a tank, the EV 70 if your lucky and is twice the price.
I've seen some cars that are called smart cars here in Dallas, Texas and folks, these cars would be great for me to drive, because I hate those blasted big American cars that uses tons of gas and pollutes the air. All of you sound like the type of people who don't care about the environment, but I do, and besides, I need a vehicle that I can see over the hood of the car, and that is easy to drive and park.❤❤❤❤❤❤
The problem I see with these mini EV's is that they are either better used as a neighborhood car in the US and never any further than the suburbs because they are either too slow, or have to little range to be helpful for anything but maybe the short drive to and from work, but never leaving town. I mean it seems great for reducing the need for the fuel powered vehicle to those times that you have to go outside of town. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to get some of the Chinese options where I am, on the grounds that I could have a car with minimal upkeep for a quarter of the cost of even the cheapest of cars available.
If it ever comes to North America and isnt insanely tariffed to the ground, I’d love me a BYD Seagull. I daily a Gen 1 leaf and love a smaller car, just wish I could get more range without a battery swap
If you were to buy from another country would there be any customer support or service? Doubtful. I would love to have one for daily commutes and leave my truck parked for the weekends. I could pay for one in fuel savings alone but I don’t need anything that can’t be serviced if it breaks down.
If purchased ( for USA ) where would one find chargeing stations ❓ To buy batteries ,where would one find that location ❓"Safty"😅.....doors please for America driveing streets❣️ Are there stores in America ❓ I have seen some of these type vehicles on the streets❣️☺️ 👍💚💙💜❣️
@@claudeguichard9722 Probably better expressed as 'Si Tro (en)'. Which is similar to how I expressed it. I almost put 'SIT-rohh(n)'. I can actually write in the IPA, but it isn't easy on this keyboard. The final syllable in French is very soft and Nasal. Yeah, sure, it's there, but not easy to hear for a non native. Regardless, this AI absolutely slaughtered the pronunciation.
You forgot Canada. My friend and I drank a bottle of whisky and bungie corded our e-bikes together then duct taped some umbrella's on our backs. It was all fun and games until we crashed at the beach and the e-bikes came apart. Sadly, the design is lost to time and can never be reproduced. What a loss to humanity.
I’d say the offerings of American EVs is pretty underwhelming when looking at ranges and max speeds compared to the rest of the world. We are not blazing innovation trails. Pretty sad. Nothing but in-town EV offerings.
U.S. listed E.V. are not cars but toys. You missed a 1000 miles range small two seat E.V. in California called Aptera probably marketed at competent price. All other cars from all listed nations are not going to survive because they are box like. Boxes creates a lot of drag and therefore their driving range will be significantly reduced. Gasoline powered cars are build to be box like on purpose so that consumption of gasoline will be high and frequent for the benefit of those who sell oil (You cannot get rich quickly by have a slow demand). In E.V. case, you do not want that do you? We want to safe our planet and our wallets. The only good thing about those E.V. is that they are low mass cars and one from India PMV got it right because they made that car narrow. The narrower car the less front drag, plus most cars are driven by one person. So it is a good start.
America we need those $600 - $2000 dollar electric micro cars without spending $6000 in fees in the USA before the car is released to the buyer . You will have to pay around $2000 -$3000 to the final warehouse where your vehicle will be stored.
The picture of the fantom car that clickbaited me into watching this shows me that car makers know what we want. This list the pathetic junk shows that they will never build anything we want. to hell with al greedy carmakers. and their overpriced junk.
The US needs cheap electric cars, at this point I don't care about the US car industry and the unions, we need cheap cars people can afford, but no, we have all these BS import laws that prevent us from buying them at a cheap price.
The uk has no affordable ev's, they keep saying they want us to go all electric bit also expect us to pay £30,000 plus
THE SQUAD SOLAR CITY
It was a bit like that in the USA ,( Elon and Nissan Changed that with the affordable EVs.)❣️👍
☺️
Shipping maybe slower due to that war.....
Depreciation is horrific and nobody wants to take the risk on a used EV . Running a petrol or diesel for 10 years or more is a much better option .

What good does this do when they're not available in the US

it'll be about the same price in Australia, also because of our ridiculously high import taxes. :( still, it's an amazing little car. very tempting.

A true city car in the US at minimum needs to go 45MPH and have a range of 100 miles.

My Ebike does that
when they build the bastards to go 500 miles on a charge in any conditions I might think about buying
North American choices are pathetic
Was afraid of this. De Soto National Forest in Mississippi. Might have to get a Stealth Bomber clone, at this rate.
A golf cart for $30K? Good grief.
blame Biden

Except for the pricetag, Wuling Air EV (afaik Indonesia exclusive) seems to be the closest target
I drive a petrol Smart (my 3rd over 12 years) and so should be a loyal customer target, forget it, my petrol Smart does 400miles on a tank, the EV 70 if your lucky and is twice the price.
BYD Seagull is my favourite. au $18,000 in Thailand (same wrong driving side as AU ;) Waiting to come to AU?

The Nissan Sakura is not available in Germany and also not available as Renault.
Here in the USA Wink Motors has fully enclosed LSV's with heat and AC. I'm seriously thinking about getting a Sprout 3 when they come out in July.
Wink Motors?
Is that a typing error?
I hope the Seagull will sell in Thailand
Also fun fact the Citroën Ami/Fiat Topolino is also known as Opel Rocks
No mention of Wuling Bingo, 333km with one charge, 50kw motor!
We will cover that car in the next video, along with some other Chinese models that we haven't shown in our previous videos! Stay tuned!
Not here in Greece, the EU cartel dont allow Chinese acars for cheap
Dacia Spring New starts by 16990 Euro. And the Citroen Ami is not a Car. Its a Joke.
And Renault Twizy ?
@@sucre9995 Twizy is ok. Run 80km/h not like the Citroen Ami with 45 km/h.
Citroen Ami was not released, I think they thought it wasn't, economically viable at 6 000€ !
I saw one driving yesterday here in Belgium @@etherospike3936
You are pronouncing Citreon wrong. It's pronounce SITrun (in English) or sitROH (in French). There are only two syllables.
It's f##### AI video.
@@jakesmith5278 Doesn't sound like one. Even if it is, my point still stands.
@@kieronimo1 Wrong. Citroen, not Citreon is pronounced Sit Ro Enn in French

Impossible to get these small EVs in Australia.

Go to 25 mph in a city street and people will be honking at you constantly
The american budget ev is a over priced joke! I feel sorry for the Americans 😂
Its reduculous.
And SOME Americans actually prefer small cars. Like me.
£22,500 is cheap 😂😂😂😂😂
CITREON IS NOT "SIT-REE-OWN"
It's "seet-roeN" it's french.
The Geely Mini Panda is $5500
Congratulations.. regards from Athens Greece...❤
Incredible how many [future paper weights] will be in the junk yard soon.
30k is not cheap after against other country. When India Ev is better than and cheaper than USA. crazy
In Australia there are only big expensive electric vehicles. China is the country you can buy small affordable evs.
I’d say the offerings of American EVs is pretty underwhelming when looking at ranges and max speeds compared to the rest of the world. We are not blazing innovation trails. Pretty sad. Nothing but in-town EV offerings.
Wuling ev air is the cheap ev car..get that one..
Yep 25 mph is a joke. The government said that has a poison pill so you would buy Detroit's overpriced iron

In the UK the starting price for that buggy is £17000 🤣
You can buy a 2024 Smart Prime Electric for £12000...
None of your USA EVs can go on the roads due to their speeds.
How do the Chinese do it?
Not "Citreeon", but Cit Ron.
CitroWań
Glorified golf carts. Very expensive.
China has best mini EV cars. India has very few, thanks to tata motors , a few decent cars. otherwise india wouldn't be mentioned here
EV si il ne peut pas parcourir 600 km en une charge même pas la peine de présenter.
