8:38 If you (or anyone watching) wanted to go a step further, you could use fine grit sand paper, or even possibly even just a fine polishing compound and a rotary tool and buff out those scratches completely. Much the same as plastic headlight restoration on a car is done. A coat of gloss / matte clear coat (depending on your preference, gloss if you are doing headlights) and it will look better then new. You can check out some automotive youtubers for the headlight restoration for more details.

    Hi Andrew.
    Every video is getting better.
Of course, it depends on the material you get for the job.
I want to dwell on just one.
    Technology is advancing but.
Personally, I think that older computer models are better and better made.
Now that is not the case.
Almost all new motherboards are integrated.
Processor soldered to the board together with the graphics chip
    Update
Memory - SSD or HDD drive.
    Eventually display.
The repair is not worth it unless the laptop is expensive or has some other gift value.
The quality of consumer electronics used to be far better than it is now.
This is proven by Andrew, who restores computers to factory condition from 2008 until today and who can still be used for a large number of jobs.
Apart from the basic ones on laptops, there is a video - audio word processor and a few more.
Some can work with both 2d and 3d cad programs and are 10 or older.
Of course with a small update.
With new models other than professional workstations, this is impossible.
You buy a computer with the given technical specifications and that's the end of no update.

      @ComputersAndTechAndAndrew  3 роки тому +1

Thank you bro 😀 and I agree with you, you are totally right. Nowadays the only fully upgradable laptops are just few models from Very High End Class, they support upgrade but you have nothing to upgrade because are already Maxed out. I really miss quality and upgrades ability that was in the past

The specs are very similar, exept the nVidia 730i chipset, which gives me the opportunity to use 8GB of DDR3 1333 and GTX 260M SLI graphics. This massive beast weights over 4.5 kg and its chassis is fully made of alluminium and magnesium. Such a nice machine which costs about 4000€ back in 2009/2010.
