As a bugs main I expect them to try and dodge upwards or towards me then just spike them into it for an easy combo or even ring out since the upwards bat move is that good
Just fyi Taz can eat projectiles by just holding neutral special. He also has a very very strong spike with armor break. I dodge through spikes and spike so often it's not funny with Taz. I main Harley but I usually pull out a pocket Taz vs sups and shaggy because they're really annoying and Taz beats their hitboxes.
Honestly as a T&J player at high elo, playing close to him may still be an issue 💀 the down air can lead into a loop that gets you to at least 60% (very dumb) up ground is a SUPER good anti-air so trying to avoid the dair loop by jumping over him can still get you hit, but not for 60% so that might be the play. The dynamite can definitely be an anti close range tool as well, he can drop it, not tennis racket it, and begin the funny little setups that the character is known for. I’d say the best counter play is to either somehow kill Jerry (be mindful of the fact that the T&J player can aim the bottle cap pop on Jerry, use the tennis ball to make Jerry hit you, or use the rocket to send it towards Jerry) or wait until the T&J player shoots Jerry off into the blast zone, THEN rush him grounded, the only zoning he gets after Jerry dies is the tnt tennis racket (unless there’s a stage with walls, then Tom can just use those for the tennis ball zoning)
The best T&J playstyle is to use jerry as bait, and when Jerry got killed, you still have godtier neutral and aerials and animation cancels to be a bruised. Tom is the #1 character in the game. He can do certain cc that no one else can. He has a kit that can do everything, and all of it really fast. Tom&J has no counter, everything is a read based off of a characters playstyle or errors or lack of knowledge of the character
One thing about Tom & Jerry is that people will always try to rush him down. As a resident semi-main of him, I will always preemptively do the Jerry rocket and just aim it forwards. You will probably get hit but the rocket will most likely hit as well, always doing more damage. It's satisfying when the Finn and like 130 gets that gleam in his eye and starts sprinting at you, straight into a rocket and dying lol
Yea that rocket is pretty annoying for rush down characters. As a batman main its always the choice of the my dair for the trade or i sack my batarang. Its a great move for T&J
Tru, I hate controlling the rocket, so I use it as a close / mid range move, PERFECT when you're being rushed down. And if they're high enough, thats game
This is extremely useful, I think that knowing how people will try to counter you is just as valuable as knowing how to counter them, I haven’t really tried many other characters yet besides jake who I’ve been finding really fun and getting into the mindset of my enemy and knowing how to one up them is invaluable right now. Thanks for the good advice
Absolutely adore Reindog because his side special is just so versatile (and his cute face of course)! Great kill confirms and movement with it AND you can move it up or down!
When Tom puts Jerry on the rocket, Tom can still move and attack but he will lose control of the rocket which will go straight to the direction he was directed. So even if you try to hit him while he's controlling the rocket, he can still punish you with an Up Tilt if you come up in the air, or with his Jab if you approach him on the ground.
Overall some very useful tips. A lot definitely aren’t foolproof but it’s a good place to start, and you covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Nice video
Iron Giant main here Be cautious about fighting him in the air, once players get good with him his air combat can be really nasty His air left and down attack comes out before some characters air attacks in general, breaking the juggle pretty easily
Yep exactly, Iron Giant Main here too ✋ And be careful, because due to the lack of mobility, we are pro when using the evade button. I mean like fuck up janky diagonal movement and wavedash shit
As a kinda Lebron main, I would agree that his unarmed attacks are pretty bad, but it's truly about timing to make them work. His up and up air are still pretty good for starting a juggle, and his down air is hard to land, but it combos into a lot of armed attacks- so learning to use it is important for having plenty of different lines of play. And for his side light, I've found that trying it land ends up with multiple dodges in a small area. So try to keep your distance. And even then, because it has a pretty decent hotbox, one bad dodge is a ball back for him.
Garnet can actually do what tom does when "stuck" in animation with fist rockets and easily just move out of controlling it and fight back so then ur just playing to how garnet wants you to play witch is just run at her
As I main Tom and Jerry myself, I can safely say Steven Universe is a HARD counter to Tom and Jerry. He's fast enough to chase after Tom and his attacks come out faster as well, so if Steven is always in my face I can't do anything simply because his attacks outspeed me.
there are definitely hard counters to most of the characters in the game, its annoying but theres not really any way around it unfortunately. the devs cant nerf a characters specifically because of their impact on one other character. in a perfect world, in my opinion, there should be perks that work well to bridge that gap between you and your hard counter, so that would be the solution, but perks are also super hard to balance
Steven is not a hard counter to Tom. Tom has tech that can be abused against steven, Steven shines more in 2’s than in 1’s. Steven is a great character, but he’s def not a hard counter to Tom. Your ability usage just has to be well placed, and your cc on point. Steven has nothing in his kit that counters Tom. Toms neutral is some of the best in the game. So I’m not too sure what you’re talking about as far as Steven being a hard counter in this game. No character really hard counters another character. This game is not based on characters, it’s based on perks and movement. A character is just the normals and specials you have, every character has tools to beat each other. The roster is well balanced outside of bugs bunny. And Jake needs a buff. Other than that the cast is really nice when you dive deep into a characters kit or abuse universal tech. And if you are playing a zoning game with Tom, you can only go so far with that. Tom is not a zoning character, he just had really strong zoning abilities, if you want to be a good Tom, be hella aggressive and control spacing and neutral, your neutral and ability usage is god tier, Tom is the most slept on character in this game. He is my sleeper #1. I believe gsm void shows exactly just how scary and powerful of a kit he has, and there are still some frame traps void hasn’t used yet that I’ve found, but he’s still the best Tom & Jerry out there. In other words, Tom is a meta breaker, when mastered. He literally can do everything, faster, and better than other characters. And when running the right perks has no downtime to his tce and cc. Learn the perks in the game, they are the real counters to certain character playstyles, they’re pretty balanced and well used but not all perks are good right now, I believe a lot of defensive and offensive and some utility perks need buffs, and some (many) are bugged
The entire meta is gonna change when the hitbox change happens as that is going to add an entire layer to the game that doesn't exist right now. Specifically they will be able to balance individual moves vs individual characters when they do that.
@@z00ko well I'd say Steven's ability to make and hide behind his shields is an immediate roadblock for Tom players, but I do agree that perks have a larger role to play in countering specific characters. But take for example Iron Giant vs Finn, Finn almost always wins because of his insane speed as well as good air killing attacks whereas Iron Giant can't really respond with any attacks of his own.
Im subscribing of this video alone. Awesome information, excellently explained and shown (btw shout out to your homie who helped illustrate everything you were saying) and it definitely wasn't too long considering all the info you packed in here. Well done my guy, now for the tier list. 👍🤙👏🤜🤛
Huge tip for Superman, if you’re playing as bugs (best character cough cough) if you neutral air right under him like belly area you get priority over him
Wonder Women tips - Video suggest to attack her aggressively but don't forget that she has her side special shield, and her aerial can be adjusted during the air (can more upward or downward) I try to do a basic combo hit with her side attack and try to combo it with a special side shield or a small charge. I sometimes push enemies with her side air (if they keep jumping back then I keep pushing away) I rarely use the rope for anything or her down attack . Her shield is good to apply pressure and collide with other armor attacks so if you attack aggressively you can out attack her. Her down side helps her and her teamates cure any debuffs but it's not quick
As a Garnet main I'd like to warn people to NOT try and play close to the edges of maps. She has five possible spiking moves I've discovered (regular nair, regular dair, side combo side smash, side combo down smash, and her rocket fists can work too), as well as some stupid air combat options so just stay in the middle of the stage mostly. Also she can definitely set up some smaller combos with her regular ground attack (this can be charged, has insane range pulling hit enemies closer, applies shocked which can stack with the electric groove ability, and has some strange armor) which can lead to either a lot of damage or a straight up vertical K.O. so try and jump to attack her when you see the setup happening.
I play very unpredictably with Arya, a lot of these tips Ik how to counter. If you play Shaggy and Arya has your face, she can use his "skedaddle" as air recovery. She's very fast on the ground and she can play around you on the ground, then hit with up tilt, up b, and rinse repeat, Side b without dagger is amazing for recovery off the side of the stage, and if you try to fight her while she's recovering, the tip of the rapier will send you *flying* of it touches you. Also, as someone who watched *every season and episode* of Steven Universe, and (sry to rant) the "walls", are a shield he can summon because he has superpowers. The "bacon dude" he spawns is names 'Watermelon Steven,' and when Steven was 16 he accidentally gave a watermelon superpowers after a PTSD episode and when he was still learning how to use his gem's power, he accidentally jumped and overcommitted and was in the air for a day. He learned how to use it after and he can basically fly, but cant change directions mid air. (he just can stop falling mid jump)
Lv 25 WW main here. I love the video 1st off and great to know more about MU for better time vs characters For WW, she is an excellent 2vs2 character and not a great 1vs1. One of her strength is drag out fight, shield up, block projectile to protect teammate greatly. Her neutral game reply alot on poking with her long range sword. This move cost her due to terrible delay, so any ground character can just get on top of her and she isn't able to do much. This is like one of the best way to counter WW Another thing I want to point out, good WW doesn't charge even when trying to finish . The charge is long and it make her vul alot. The best way to finish out it agan just poking, trying forward special in the air or my best tool LASO PERK. This will be one of your best finishing move- LASO For gaint, one of the best perk to counter him is knock back ifluence- Its double edge sword but it will make you finish iron giant =ez
Taz can eat projectiles, it's kinda impractical but he can, and w/o the anvil ability it spits the projectile back, even bugs bunny's rocket, although the timing is very tight for that specifically
Be careful staying in Tom's face if he gets a single hit from his side or up light you are gonna get frying pan looped yes he is definitely weaker up close and personal but can still cause you alot of pain if he catches you slipping
That Harley tip for controller not being able to do neutral, you can bind neutral to a button such as a bumper which is what most Harley's use to detonate their bomb into a bat swing for air kill confirms
@@blackcriticality while this is a good strategy. You can use an attached bomb, get above them so they think they have advantage. Detonate, and now they are above you, KO with up special.
great commentary man, great advice, well presented and very useful mid-range type of knowledge for beginners and advanced players as well, thank you for this
Tip for consol players, you can neutral attacks with the left and right bumbers, this is especially helpfull with characters whos neutral attacks are game changing (e.g. Morty, harley, etc)
Don't forget about Fin down square. It is deadly and he can combo off that from the stage for an easy kill early. Players should avoid the edge especially when dealing with him.
@@thesnipingspider3852 Finn is straight up BROKEN. I happened to get a double Bugs Bunny vs double Finn, the Finns DESTROYED US with hardly ANY issue almost the entire time. I was only able to land a couple combos just barely, as Finn has the priority of a meteor. It's fricking ridiculous.
As a Harley player, this helps a lot to mitigate my bad habits with the Batman Bomb, thanks! Also as a Harley main, I don't use the Side B on-stage unless I'm trying to bait a bad dodge out of a combo
You know its not that easy to stay mid range from finn when he's the fastest champ in the game, his ground side dodge makes him roll and it covers so much space + he has boots
10:14 sometimes players will play the game with the “neutral special” command mapped to a button. I’m not a harley player, but I am one of the players who has that button command mapped to one of my buttons, and it’s likely that a few Harley players will be able to utilize that as well. That being said, the tip is still likely quite useful against most Harley players
This is very useful and this will be helpful in the long run, especially after WB games announced that they acknowledged the hitbox issues and will be addressing them later on, thus. making it more effective. 👍
TOM MAIN HERE. Little tip about the Jerry rocket. U can attack while it's on the field and I normally bait people into combos when they think I'm a sitting duck. Just a warning
o.o Whoayeah. Yer' hired. I'm so touched to find that the Micromachines guy had a kid...... *briefly reminisces about the Multiverse YT stuff he's studied so far* YOU'VE DONE THE LORD'S WORK SIR!!!!
For my Wonder Woman players for the counters he mentioned here are the ways to fix them. 1. If they decide to run away while you have armor on just chase them and read them.it’s not very hard to read someone who’s only goal is to not come to you. 2. Just play aggressive aswell. Her sair is definitely her best attack to just throw out a hit box so you can’t keep your distance if their playing to agressive and you can’t find an opportunity to be aggressive aswell. 3. This one’s easy. Just don’t kill that way. Up special, dlight (max bar meter) dair Side special (not suggested) all of those are good kill options
I play a lot of arya and I will add a couple of tips , first of all down attack on arya is very good and so try not to charge on the ground too much e.g fins slap attack as most decent arya players will just wait for the attack to get close and get free damage in . Second tip is arya best ability is her up special and allows her to get alot of combos off so try not to fight arya in the air especially if she is above you and try to dodge out of any air combos . Third arya has no range by both having her only range attack have a super long cooldown and also her general none up special just having smaller hit boxes so a good way but really annoying strat is too play keep away with range attacks and its hard for arya players to punish as her mobility is also kinda limited .
for your second Harley tip, ppl just need to map neutral special to another button. I have it on a trigger and usually blow up the bat plushie mid-air. i.e. this game has a whole other input mapping for "neutral special" that you can push while holding a direction
I main as arya , I can give you a tip her ground neatiral attack will perform a doge and attack the opponent from behind allowing her to start a combo you ain't gonna get out of that will for sure knock you of the side or the top of the map so I wouldn't recommend going towards an arya if the person knows how to play
As a top 500 Iron Giant 1v1 player (was top 100, but took a break), I've yet to see him actually being a bad character. I beat a level 29 Arya, thinking with her recent buffs and Giant's nerfs it was going to go horribly, but I actually destroyed her. Very few people/characters make me feel like I'm worse off than my opponent... Screw Jake tho. Timing mixups, stupid range, absolute 0 endlag, crazy priority and a down air normal that just invalidates anyone with a large enough hurtbox, on top of being the most braindead spike in the game. I mean, the bolts should guarantee you get something major and getting that a couple times a game can just win. Grab into up special is broken and can kill at 0. Up special's kinda just Finn's backpack, but bigger, longer and more mobile, anyway. That's theory, I actually keep messing up my own bolt conversions, as I'm fighting the hitbox it throws out, rather than trying to utilize it. I've much to learn still and if I have, there are precious few Giants who know the character well enough to really show how good he is in the right hands.
100 % agree fellow Iron Giant Main. And of course never forget that evade moves are really really good with Iron Giant gor cancelling his recovery and doing some fucked up movements
Good finns will instantly grab the apple or teleport as soon a they throw it so they can confirm two attacks. Even if Finn’s backpack gets nerfed he’ll be fine imo
With reindog i say to be careful for the downair, since it can be really unfortune for people that are above 100 damage. The down ground is just like the down air,an all-round tail whip which is pretty strong.
As a filthy Velma main, you can also just combo ur neutral square after 1-2 jabs. Additionally, I find her megaphone's best use to be sniping ppl off stage for sneaeky kills and if they dodge, u can go for some nasty edge guarding.
I have not gotten my hands on multi-verses yet but I have been planning to try it out with a group of friends once we can all meet up and I hope these tips translate well. I also have not seen this creator yet and I’m very impressed by the quality of the video! I don’t usually like and comment often but felt this one deserved it lol I hope it helps you get more exposure
As a Garnet main, I'm almost always the one getting close to an enemy and it still works because of gloves and sudden dodges. My way of playing Garnet is basically: - Enemy is close? Ground and air punches - Enemy is far away? Use gloves, that weird electric ball or pull them in with the ground slam - If the enemy dodges the gloves, immediately stop controlling them and dodge - No dancing is required because hitting the enemy with electrified attacks automatically gives you the rhythm
Jake counters projectile spamming Reindog, for one reason, House, the House has the unique ability to reflect projectiles, it honestly surprises me how much people forget this feature and many projectile based characters like Reindog and Batman get pretty screwed over cause the reflect turns the projectile into your move, making Batman lose his Batrang, and giving me the opportunity to turn it around and throw the weakening status effect boomerang right back at him always feels rewarding, and no you shouldn't solely rely on this for projectiles as Jake, as a Jake main I'm just giving some insight for more counters if you're struggling with a projectile spammer
Arya is a combo based character and with those combos you can usually kill characters around 130 but with the knife you can get combos that kill at like 65-90 depending on the character
It's totally worth it to kill Stevens melon! If you don't, that thing will take random hits meant for Steven, secret service agent. It also gives him a tether target that hunts you down, and tether has extremely high vertical knockback. Melon isn't there to deal direct damage. Also melon Steven gets hit as if he is at 200 DMG - any move that would secure a kill will one shot it. Also the cool down on melon Steven is long, can't get him back for like 15 seconds.
As a Superman main I can tell you he is one of the fastest people in the game. He has the best dodge, can instantly recover from being hit to the edges of the map and can always jump out of attacks he doesn’t want to do anymore.and if you stand in middle he’s gonna spam his laser eyes and as soon as your up in the air after that knock back your dead. His up close melees do lack a little bit but he still has that armored horizontal punch and the fastest neutral attack in the game and well. My tip is to try to bait out his attacks which is very easy bc most Superman’s are brain dead and as soon as you bait them out capatalize off of that and conflict damage. Be careful though that you don’t get grabbed up twice from his up special because he can break out of combos sometimes out of luck and kill you on 20 just with the press of 4 buttons
I’ve been playing Tom and Jerry a lot lately, and if I’m being honest he’s probably one of the best characters in the game. If the Tom player is good, his “Jerryless” game is super strong. His ground up can be charged while moving, and is an amazing combo starter. His frying pan can combo into itself at low percentages, and at mid percentages it combos into his up air. Killing Jerry is still one of the best strategies, but if the Tom player is really a good one then killing Jerry is not going to be as much of a setback as anticipated.
As for Superman, you can really mess him up if you use Armor break moves. Wonder Woman's neutral Air is perfect for that and is in general one of her best moves, so better start binding that neutral button on a shoulder button or something, because it's so damn good to side roll short hop nair into enemies and annoy them with aggression from a character they wouldn't expect so much sticking power from.
If you're LeBron don't let them rush you. If you have the ball you control the spacing. If they rush throw the ball at them, if they try to play vertically use the three point shot, and you can even use it to start combos. The no look pass is fast and I love doing it before going into my combo. use his keep possession ability that gives you health for getting a pass if you hit somebody with the ball and get the ball back it gives you grey health.
As a Steven main, I can say that attack wise, watermelon Steven is useless but I don’t recommend ignoring him whatsoever… watermelon Steven can connect with steven’s neutral special and give Decent chase before it explodes, I’d say if Steven isn’t close then knock out melon asap.
For Steven, I think the watermelon man is slept on too much. If you run his perk to make him grow bigger, he can easily ko people. Had a lot of times where I wouldn’t even be attacking someone but my watermelon man would merk them
as a velma main finn is my greatest nighmare because he has such low move cooldown to the point he can just spam his melee and unlike harley quinn his moves are heavy hitting and have priority so i cant even be aggresive against him either
I'm a Batman main and what you pointed out at 2:01 is what most people do and they don't realize I can control the Batarang to tilt up and down when I throw it
@@slushMV not true batarang combos to grapple hook so every time I throw batarang I cover it with a grapple and if they dodge the grapple hook I fastfall dodge roll back and they get hit with the second hit of the batarang which I get a free jab jab up special combo out of .I have video of people trying to dodge my batarang and it never works out well for them . I will say it probably works against low rank Batman mains though who don’t know they can cover their batarang so I don’t think you suggesting it is wrong just at a higher level it doesn’t work especially with the grapple signature perk where it explodes on contact making it impossible o dodge .also i probably should mention I have a pro smash background so most people aren’t going to have that level of reaction timing unless they was also pro so it works
For awhile I didn’t know why people hated Finn so much but I played a match against one who just spammed bag all game the hit box on that move is crazy I probably would have deleted the game if I lost
Same boat; tried everyone during the closed beta and thought “Okay Taz, Velma, and Arya are gonna be an issue, but Fin seems fine…?” Oh boy, how wrong I was 💀
I versed a level 16 Finn and I thought he’ll be a good player but after I had a substantial lead in the beginning of the match he just resorted to backpack spam and I lost cuz I didn’t really know how to counter it a majority of time. Batman moves don’t really kill
Lebron is also easy to counter as Jake by becoming a house, representing the housing market crash, a car, representing the gas prices, or a boat, representing I don’t even know what
like said in the vid you can dodge the detonation, so tip to harley mains if u stick someone with it try to combo them and detonate at the end of ur combo or detonate as soon as they dodge out of ur combo as a follow up and dont try to spam side special because like said its very punishable but honestly i dont think theres any punish to a good harley who knows what their doing other then simply being massively better then them
A lot of better shaggy mains wont even try to get charge unless it is guaranteed, and the kick isnt the main move used. I usually use the ultra instinct to pressure my opponent into trying to bait out my moves and get them more nervous, The only UI move I do usually is a ledge guard kick, or a one two jab up special. I think the keeping them in the air thing is the best tactic as our air moves are usually used very short, like a short hop into the knee, or a short hop into down spike.
Playing bugs I use the rocket as a push and spike them into it for a combo or ringout. Rarely as a stand alone projectile since its easy to avoid it ootherwise.
"it's really finicky to do a neutral attack in the air on controller" my brother let me introduce you to the LB and RB buttons, Neutral Special and Neutral Attack respectively
I personally use the triggers, but I know a lot of people rn don't care too much about "optimal" binds especially on console, so still something to note
@@slushMV i think it'd be better to note that they should bind those buttons to something comfortable, any decent player will not be struggling to use their neutrals imo! not saying your vid was bad, quite the opposite, thats just my one criticism :)
Top % Shaggy here: Rushing Shaggy shutting him down is a skill issue. He actually has 0 to deaths without charge. Baiting the charge attacks out also isn't the problem either, since a good shaggy will wait to use them in kill confirms off their combos. The best counterplay to shaggy is to zone him and to stay in the air. Shaggy's confirms are slightly harder to start with his aerials, and generally only work air-tight against grounded opponents. If you're high above the ground, Dair to Fair is his best string and it doesn't lead into any dumb loops. What you said about avoiding engaging him on the ground is way more relevant than anything relating to his charge. If you engage shaggy on the ground and lose, he will take your stock. It's just gone, until they nerf his infinites/loops. For this reason, DI his combos Up and Away and dodge upward/away, do not let him keep you grounded. If you're higher up, his loops start to fail. Also recover high against him. The Shoryken is easier to dodge than his 4(!) separate spikes (3 of which have armor). Also run Toon Physics. It'll reduce your likelyhood of dying to stray Dairs off the top. How you will most likely die if you're avoiding his kill combos by staying in the air.
Bugs Bunny air moves are slow in the air. The fastest is N-air but it's stubby and doesn't touch the bottom. So he can be juggled when he's air camping. He also can't do D-air loops up high His d-air loops are his best trait. N-air and s-tilt can be inconsistent combo starters with good SDI, so usually they want to go for raw d-air or a deep S-air into d-air However, when Bugs has pie, he doesn't have access to d-air loops. He can't do d-air loops. Without the threat of d-air loops, he's much easier to approach. So Bugs Bunny should use Pies when the opponents are at higher percents when D-air loops are no longer relevant Furthermore, if his D-air is staled, he can't do d-air loops. If N-air is staled, he can't do D-air loops in the from the air. This is due to the Bug's inability to fast-fall after using D-air. So he has to cancel into an aerial. Using D-air from the air is where Bugs tends to get most of the D-air loops, That's all I got
I like this. But at the same time. I think it depends on the players play style....like I'm a Finn player, didn't think I would play him but yeah. I'm a speed fighter and barely use the gem, it not really useful unless it to get away or combo if you're skilled enough. But I did learn a lot from the video provided!
What I learned:
1. Dodge everything
2. Be aggressive when you need too
Isn't that what you always should do
Every fighting game ever lol
At the same time you only have to air dodges so realize if you lose both you can be die unless you get back to wall or stage
Basically just be good. 😂
"No bugs player will expect you to ride their rocket"
Well, now they do
As a bugs main I expect them to try and dodge upwards or towards me then just spike them into it for an easy combo or even ring out since the upwards bat move is that good
That's why i throw them up unless you're on the side of the map
I jumped on a buggs rocket earlier today, doing the tom shoulder shrug emote. the buggs looked really confused.
i uploaded a clip what happens when you jump on my bugs rocket XD
Now I will no longer be a 880 MMR bugs
Just fyi Taz can eat projectiles by just holding neutral special. He also has a very very strong spike with armor break. I dodge through spikes and spike so often it's not funny with Taz. I main Harley but I usually pull out a pocket Taz vs sups and shaggy because they're really annoying and Taz beats their hitboxes.
The main problem is that taz eating thing is very slow so its gonna be hard to eat the projectile
Yeah I main Tom and Jerry and my first projectile will get eaten but often punished right after because it obvious they want to use the eat
@@chancexe8352 his eat isn’t slow💀
@@z00ko yes it is it has a pretty long start up
I do not recommend Taz there’s nothing literally nothing good about him
Honestly as a T&J player at high elo, playing close to him may still be an issue 💀 the down air can lead into a loop that gets you to at least 60% (very dumb) up ground is a SUPER good anti-air so trying to avoid the dair loop by jumping over him can still get you hit, but not for 60% so that might be the play.
Sorry this is long 💀
I do really appreciate this video though ❤️ helped me with some matchups
The best T&J playstyle is to use jerry as bait, and when Jerry got killed, you still have godtier neutral and aerials and animation cancels to be a bruised. Tom is the #1 character in the game. He can do certain cc that no one else can. He has a kit that can do everything, and all of it really fast. Tom&J has no counter, everything is a read based off of a characters playstyle or errors or lack of knowledge of the character
@@z00ko TRUE

One thing about Tom & Jerry is that people will always try to rush him down. As a resident semi-main of him, I will always preemptively do the Jerry rocket and just aim it forwards. You will probably get hit but the rocket will most likely hit as well, always doing more damage. It's satisfying when the Finn and like 130 gets that gleam in his eye and starts sprinting at you, straight into a rocket and dying lol
Yea that rocket is pretty annoying for rush down characters. As a batman main its always the choice of the my dair for the trade or i sack my batarang. Its a great move for T&J
The rocket IS ez to dodge but all finn main play like braindead so its make sens
@@devilos250 yes
@@arthurdias7375 they also look dumb for constantly trying to contest te mouse trap. It's so easy to bait them into it
Tru, I hate controlling the rocket, so I use it as a close / mid range move, PERFECT when you're being rushed down.
Thanks for the good advice
super happy you enjoyed the video :)
Counter play to the counter play is when shit gets hyped
@@tjknight lmao fr I cant wait to see this game progress
@@slushMV There are some things you should have also mentioned like say you didnt mention anything about how one deals with Iron Giant's berserk mode
As a reindog main I appreciate this because now I can use the crystals to bait and distract my opponents. I have so many wins with him.
FAXS!! Walking straight into the frame trap
Nice video
Iron Giant main here
Be cautious about fighting him in the air, once players get good with him his air combat can be really nasty
His air left and down attack comes out before some characters air attacks in general, breaking the juggle pretty easily
Yep exactly, Iron Giant Main here too ✋
And be careful, because due to the lack of mobility, we are pro when using the evade button. I mean like fuck up janky diagonal movement and wavedash shit
other iron giant main here, i just sit down in the air and it always works, they just give up and accept it lmao
Garnet can actually do what tom does when "stuck" in animation with fist rockets and easily just move out of controlling it and fight back so then ur just playing to how garnet wants you to play witch is just run at her
Big brain
Everyone: Talking about how useful this is
Me: He called Watermelon Steven "Bacon Man"
As I main Tom and Jerry myself, I can safely say Steven Universe is a HARD counter to Tom and Jerry.
@@slushMV Oh no I'm fine with it. Seems fair that the counter to a hard to play character is another hard to play character.
Cool tip that almost no one knows: in the settings there is the neutral moves trigger option, so you can do neutrals while moving
As a PS4 player, having my neutrals on L1 and R1 is a life saver.
Im subscribing of this video alone. Awesome information, excellently explained and shown (btw shout out to your homie who helped illustrate everything you were saying) and it definitely wasn't too long considering all the info you packed in here. Well done my guy, now for the tier list. 👍🤙👏🤜🤛

I agree
Huge tip for Superman, if you’re playing as bugs (best character cough cough) if you neutral air right under him like belly area you get priority over him
Bugs won't be, he's getting rightfully nerfed.
For the 1364 time: theres no hit priority on this game

Wonder Women tips -
Video suggest to attack her aggressively but don't forget that she has her side special shield, and her aerial can be adjusted during the air (can more upward or downward)
I try to do a basic combo hit with her side attack and try to combo it with a special side shield or a small charge.
I sometimes push enemies with her side air (if they keep jumping back then I keep pushing away)
I rarely use the rope for anything or her down attack .
I did not expect this to be so useful and informational man, thanks bro. Sorry I doubted you.
Genuinely one of the best strategy videos i’ve seen on multiversus. Great job and I hope you get a lot more subs cause it’s deserved
using this as a matchup guide thanks twin 🙏🏾❤️
U gotta be a Steven main
I love the video 1st off and great to know more about MU for better time vs characters
For WW, she is an excellent 2vs2 character and not a great 1vs1. One of her strength is drag out fight, shield up, block projectile to protect teammate greatly. Her neutral game reply alot on poking with her long range sword. This move cost her due to terrible delay, so any ground character can just get on top of her and she isn't able to do much. This is like one of the best way to counter WW
Another thing I want to point out, good WW doesn't charge even when trying to finish . The charge is long and it make her vul alot. The best way to finish out it agan just poking, trying forward special in the air or my best tool LASO PERK. This will be one of your best finishing move- LASO
For gaint, one of the best perk to counter him is knock back ifluence- Its double edge sword but it will make you finish iron giant =ez
thanks for the additional tips, cool to see a WW main's perspective :)
When mastered ww is a godtier duelist. She had spacing no one can compete with except Jerry
@@z00ko velma is cancer though
superman or any armor like giant is super counter vs WW
As a Harley main. I exclusively detonate in the air. The bumper buttons are the neutral attacks. I use the same tactic for LeBron
I do too, but if you catch onto that early you can start to predict it as well, usually pretty easy to dodge through it
@@slushMV fair enough. I have occasionally fought someone good, but most people are easy pickings for my Harley
@@blackcriticality while this is a good strategy. You can use an attached bomb, get above them so they think they have advantage. Detonate, and now they are above you, KO with up special.

That being said, the tip is still likely quite useful against most Harley players
its literally default to lb and rb for n spec and n attk
Best multiversus tip video on here by far not even close 🔥🔥

Third arya has no range by both having her only range attack have a super long cooldown and also her general none up special just having smaller hit boxes so a good way but really annoying strat is too play keep away with range attacks and its hard for arya players to punish as her mobility is also kinda limited .
stop telling people how to counter my main :(
@@squirtle3744 to be honest our main is terrible right now and really nothing to counter xD
awesome and epic tips!
for your second Harley tip, ppl just need to map neutral special to another button. I have it on a trigger and usually blow up the bat plushie mid-air. i.e. this game has a whole other input mapping for "neutral special" that you can push while holding a direction
No they dont neutral special is already mapped on your controller i believe it is left bumper
L1 is neutral special
I’ve gotten plenty out with Stevens watermelon baby, it helps!
Very useful, especially for an Arya main
I have not gotten my hands on multi-verses yet but I have been planning to try it out with a group of friends once we can all meet up and I hope these tips translate well. I also have not seen this creator yet and I’m very impressed by the quality of the video! so helpful! Thanks dudeeeee. Been having lots of fun with this game.
Also I would love to see individual videos on how to play each character! So like one vid for Finn, one for Bugs, etc.
As a Garnet main, I'm almost always the one getting close to an enemy and it still works because of gloves and sudden dodges.
My way of playing Garnet is basically:
- Enemy is close? Ground and air punches
- Enemy is far away? Use gloves, that weird electric ball or pull them in with the ground slam
- If the enemy dodges the gloves, immediately stop controlling them and dodge
- No dancing is required because hitting the enemy with electrified attacks automatically gives you the rhythm
Universal tip for all matchups. Just don’t get hit.
Underrated Comment
Insane tips from the 2k Arya main himself
Arya is a combo based character and with those combos you can usually kill characters around 130 but with the knife you can get combos that kill at like 65-90 depending on the character

But yeah, the melon guy is more a distraction than a threat.
LMAO NO SHOT
@@slushMV YES HE HAS A WHOLE ISLAND WITH WATERMELON STEVENS
Goat Video🤣
It's totally worth it to kill Stevens melon! If you don't, that thing will take random hits meant for Steven, secret service agent. It also gives him a tether target that hunts you down, and tether has extremely high vertical knockback. Melon isn't there to deal direct damage.
Also melon Steven gets hit as if he is at 200 DMG - any move that would secure a kill will one shot it. Also the cool down on melon Steven is long, can't get him back for like 15 seconds.
Lets gooo! Another day another slush W! Keep up the quality!
Very helpful video, thanks!
they have to add Mordecai and Rigby. they've been punching each other longer than anyone else has 😂
As a Steven main, I can say that attack wise, watermelon Steven is useless but I don’t recommend ignoring him whatsoever… watermelon Steven can connect with steven’s neutral special and give Decent chase before it explodes, I’d say if Steven isn’t close then knock out melon asap.

Been waiting for this kind of vid lol
like said in the vid you can dodge the detonation, so tip to harley mains if u stick someone with it try to combo them and detonate at the end of ur combo or detonate as soon as they dodge out of ur combo as a follow up and dont try to spam side special because like said its very punishable but honestly i dont think theres any punish to a good harley who knows what their doing other then simply being massively better then them

Tip for Steven. Ge doesn't have bacon. Instead avoid watermelon guy.
Top % Shaggy here:
Rushing Shaggy shutting him down is a skill issue.
Damn you didn't have too expose shaggy like that, now me and the other shaggy mains are gonna have a harder time
is no one gonna talk about him calling watermelon steven bacon steven
Bugs Bunny air moves are slow in the air. The fastest is N-air but it's stubby and doesn't touch the bottom. So he can be juggled when he's air camping. He also can't do D-air loops up high
His d-air loops are his best trait. N-air and s-tilt can be inconsistent combo starters with good SDI, so usually they want to go for raw d-air or a deep S-air into d-air
However, when Bugs has pie, he doesn't have access to d-air loops. He can't do d-air loops. Without the threat of d-air loops, he's much easier to approach. So Bugs Bunny should use Pies when the opponents are at higher percents when D-air loops are no longer relevant
Furthermore, if his D-air is staled, he can't do d-air loops. If N-air is staled, he can't do D-air loops in the from the air. This is due to the Bug's inability to fast-fall after using D-air. So he has to cancel into an aerial. Using D-air from the air is where Bugs tends to get most of the D-air loops,
That's all I got
The superman thing when he's flying, I always win priorty with a side light lol
As an Iron Giant main, this is really fun to see how different almost all matchups are.
tbh with tom and jerry though he also has a very strong close range kit, as his neutrals are very good close range moves
I like this. But at the same time. I think it depends on the players play style....like I'm a Finn player, didn't think I would play him but yeah. I'm a speed fighter and barely use the gem, it not really useful unless it to get away or combo if you're skilled enough. But I did learn a lot from the video provided!
i have had a moment where watermelon steven killed my opponent with a single hit at 30%
